A shopper asked: What size fuse should be used when hooking up to motorcycle 12 volt battery? Oct 2, 2014

Scott F: That depends on what gear you are powering up with the system. Just gloves, gloves and vest, jacket, etc.
Gerbing lists the amperages of all their gear. Add the amp draw from all your gear and select the next higher fuse.
For example, just glover is 2.2A so select the 3A fuse.
Gloves and vest, 2.2A + 3.4A = 5.6A so select the 7.5A fuse, etc...
(**** I'm making up the amp numbers in my examples, see Gerbing for real amp values ****)
