Unique five pivot design – with unique ergonomic shin pivot, the knee guard moves with your leg front-to-back, as well as, side-to-side providing shin, knee, and lower thigh coverage throughout full range of leg movement
Impact foam and mesh components – line the inside of the knee guard for a plush feel
Pretty comfortable, even if you walk around with these guards. The first ride you feel them, but soon forget that they're on. Afterwards, if you don't wear them it feels like something is missing. Guards feel nice and safe, though I haven't fallen in them, so I can't really offer any review on that aspect. But, they seem like they would hold up.
I'm a girl and I can fit them under some loose jeans and some pants, but you definitely see them. They're easy to put on and take off pretty quickly so you don't have to add much extra time to your preparation before riding.
They cover about half my thigh, all my knee and 3/4 of my shin. Good coverage, but I think it depends on your body type. Also, they have velcro adjustable straps in the back, so if your leg is smaller or larger, you shouldn't have to worry about fitting them. Like a one size fits all! :D

The urban rider
I live in an urban city. Full gear is hard to wear when your hopping on and off the bike. These knee guards give a good protection vs bare knee.
Love it so far!

Philip G: All of the sub $100 shin guards have a down side. Some are too sweaty for Texas, others articulate poorly. The design on the Fly Racing 5 looks like it might work for my legs... three slim attachment bands (one just above the calf to prevent slippage), and foam across the knee instead of a plastic cover (plastic over the knee adds a lot of bulk). That said, I'll give them a try.Nov 16, 2013
