Fly Butane Jacket
Pretty Good 3-Season First Jacket
Overall, a solid purchase, especially for the money. But get yourself a summer jacket too.
To speak to the review, Anthony mentions that this jacket will shine in Fall, Winter, Spring--and he's completely accurate. (*Disclaimer* I live in Los Angeles so "winter" is a relative experience here.)
That said, this jacket was a great buy. Someone else mentioned the zipper logo breaking off, and mine did the same and pretty quickly. But after that I had no difficulties with it at all--until summer.
Even though it does get pretty decent air flow, when that air is hot this jacket almost cooks me. (And being darkly colored probably doesn't help that.)
Also, when I realized I should have something on my back besides the thin foam in the jacket, I discovered that I couldn't easily find a back-protector insert that fit in the slot available. I settled on a vest and thankfully the jacket is roomy enough to accommodate. (Versatility is one of its strengths.)
Overall I would recommend, with the caveat that it isn't a true 4-season jacket.

Bought this jacket because I went down in my other jacket, and I wanted something warm for the winter + waterproof for the rare rain here. Jacket does keep me warm, lowest its been since I've gotten it was about 40-45, did great. The jacket is pretty warm though, even without the thermal lining in. Can't remove water lining. I would not suggest for summer, or anything over about 70-80. Zipper gets caught on the rain guard for the zipper, but just pull it away when you go to zip up and its fine. I ordered 4x, (6'6 and 300lbs) and the chest is fine, neck is little tight, stomach was pretty big though. I tightened it all the way and isnt too bad now. The jacket is very adjustable though, buttons on sleeves and adjustable waist. I do recommend it on the cheap, I got it for only 50 bucks.

great jacket, great price
bought the Butane for cold weather because i have the 8th Street mesh jacket that works great in warm weather.
the fit is roomy and non restrictive, with enough adjustments to conform to just about any body type

My first jacket.
Purchased this as my very first riding jacket and overall it's a great jacket but quality leaves some to be desired. After not even a month of using the jacket, the front zipper tab with the rubber fly logo broke completely off. I can still zip it up without the tab and perhaps just put a key chain ring on the zipper but that's a bit ghetto. Then the stitching inside the right pocket decided to come undone, leaving a good sized hole inside the pocket making it rather useless for small stuff like keys & change. Other then those two ill quality control issues the jacket is great. I'm 6'1" about 270lbs with a 48" chest and a gut, not at all an athletic build and the 2XL fits nicely. I was a bit worried about the fit going towards the waist but It fits true to size according to their size chart. Jacket is very comfortable. It is more of a cooler weather jacket so keep that in mind if your planning on using it throughout the year. It got a bit hot and uncomfortable for me in sunny mid 70 degree weather. In cooler weather this jacket is great with the thermal liner. I was quiet warm and comfortable riding in below 45 degrees. Overall, it is a good 4 season jacket for the money. Just don't expect top notch quality. Even though I like the jacket overall, I wont' purchase or recommend another Fly product in the future due to poor quality control.

Great Starter Jacket
I bought this jacket as my first motorcycle jacket. Was supposed to be waterproof, had a full removable liner, plenty of vents, shoulder/elbow armor, and back pad. For the price you can't beat it. Works well in cooler climates, I've used it early morning about 45 degrees, and with vents open it stay fairly cool in the 60's and 70's however you do notice the waterproof liner in the sun at a stop. Overall get jacket for the price.

Good and warm
Good coat comes with warm liner. I was riding in 35-40 degree weather all week in Alaska and a thin sweatshirt underneath kept me plenty warm.

I've only used this jacket a couple of times. Once in 90degree sun. Ventilation was adequate for a waterproof coat. You still feel the rubber lining of course, especially in the sleeves. Rode in a good rain and it works fine. Appears to be well constructed and thought out with internal pockets and side expansion. Sleeves feel a tad short. Like the full lined insert which includes the cuffed sleeves at the wrist. Some jackets only have a zipout vest.
