For use in cold weather Purchased this to use in colder weather in addition to my jacket / liner. Kept me warm in low 50degree weather, was very comfortable, I would guess it would hold up well into the 40s as well. Not sure how well it will do in the 30s.but plan on testing it out this summer. I decided to try this out first before buying a winter jacket to see how well it performs. So far so good. I wear a size LG jacket, purchased this in medium for a tight fit so it would fit easily under my size LG jacket. That worked out fine. The jacket does fit snug but I figured it would be. light weight comfortable fit great for cool morning rides comfortable enough for all around riding, fitting could be a little tighter August 11, 2014
Works as a lip-in liner, too I bought this to replace the stock liner for my Kilimanjaro even though it's not advertised as such. The zippers match up and worked great with the added bonus that it can be worn separately in milder weather. July 21, 2014
6'4'', 190lb. Can' make it fit. Tried to like the liner and make it fit: Far to bulky and loose for my taste - air pockets all over the place. Would have to gain 20-30lb to fit into the jacket. Tried a L Tall by the way. Could go down the Medium Tall route but am afraid sleeves will be too short since they are already pretty short on L. Perfect liner if it had a more snug fit around the waste (probably 4-6'' less). April 26, 2014
Outstanding I ride a 2011 FLHX so I ride in a touring position..with 12.5" Apes..I bought this as a liner to wear under my Langlitz Columbia Jacket..So far I love it I'm 6'2" 225lbs so the XLT fit perfect Its a little loose but thats how I wanted it so I can wear a hoodie underneath on cold days/nights..So far I Love It..also I'm in an MC and this is perfect under my cut...not to warm or to cool and it fits great.. Works great as a liner under my jackets. This softshell jacket is warm and thin enough to act as a nice liner for both my mesh and leather jackets. I use it in place of the liners that come with most of my jackets. I found it to run a bit on the big size, I normally wear a size XL in shirts and jackets (I'm 6'1" and 215), but had to return for a L. The L fit right on the button and slipped under my jackets no problem. Doesn't look too bad off the bike either. February 18, 2014
Excellent Winter Baselayer I'm 6'4" 265lbs and the jacket fits great. I have worn it as a base layer under a couple of different jackets and it has helped keep me warm down to freezing temperatures. I like just wearing it as a jacket off the bike as it looks nice. February 13, 2014

Darrin K asked: Could I fit a slimmer, not SO bulky, (leatt 3df) pressure suit underneath this comfortably? I prefer to wear pressure suits rather than use built in armor in jackets. Mar 19, 2015

phil m: Its a liner so its designed to be snug to fit under your existing shell or jacket. It all depends on your body size and where you fall in the size chart. The leat armor is thin but its probably the elbows that will be tight. You can always exchange. May 7, 2015

Michael S: Darrin,

Sorry, but I don't own this jacket. Worse, I don't know what a leatt 3df pressure suit is. Good luck in your pursuit of information.

A shopper asked: What size would be best for me? Thanks Dec 15, 2011

OldManRick: If you wear a 42 sports coat then you will probably be looking at a size Large, but since you're pretty tall then you'll need to consider sleeve length and I wouldn't be surprised if you want a tall, therefore a Large Tall.

Revzilla has a video just for sizing Firstgear; it gives you all the info you need on how and what to measure for a Firstgear jacket. Check it out here:

Paul B asked: I'm looking for a replacement liner to wear under a mesh jacket (primarily my Klim Induction) on chilly mornings when the temps will make me want the mesh later in the day. Does this liner block wind? Aug 30, 2015
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
John M: Yes it does and you can wear it as a light jacket as well. Only feature or lack of is the sleeve openings have no velcro closure to make tight around your wrist. Beside that, made well, and has held up nicely. I'm very happy with its performance. Aug 30, 2015
