Perfect short to protect your parts I bought this short not only because it has protection built in on the sides but because of the cushion on your rear. My seat is still to stiff so I needed something to protect my parts agains this brand new seat. The shorts work perfectly. Think of them as a bicycle shorts with added protection on the hips. That is what they are. August 18, 2015
Good overall I ride on the more aggressive side and wanted a little more protection. These shorts offer that but can be a little uncomfortable in a full tuck position. June 11, 2015
Tailbone protection It just does not have enough. The protecter does not go low enough. I'm going to have them modified !! March 9, 2015
Fits well and has side armor I already own the EVS Tug O2 riding shorts and needed a second pair when the first were being washed. So I decided to upgrade to the 05 for my second pair. They fit slimly under pants as do the 02's, and snugly against my thighs and remain in place. Size for me as a waist 35-36 wearing the large is excellent. They do add a layer under your pants so it cannot be avoided that they will add some heat. However they are thin and move with your body well and I've worn them in warmer San Diego days without undue discomfort. I recommend these if you are considering under pant armor. March 2, 2015
the fit is spot on. I was looking for an extra layer of protection under my riding jeans. This product provides me the piece of mind I was looking for. October 29, 2014
Overall, a good product Fit is comfortable and true to size. Constructed of durable material. Does not bunch up when riding. Fits nicely under my riding pants and jeans and is not noticeable to others. Easy to keep clean. Protection is good. I had a slow speed crash riding the foothills east of Fresno, CA last month and suffered no injuries at all. Not sure how well they would protect in a bad crash. Good ventilation considering most of my riding is in east Texas and nothing vents very well here in the summer. October 6, 2014
These shorts are a great buy What I like about them is that they are pretty low profile - can't even tell I have them on. And they are comfortable too. September 8, 2014
Know what you need them for These are more for comfort on longer rides than serious protection. The hip protectors look much bigger in the picture than in real life, and tailbone is covered with a tiny piece of plastic. July 14, 2014

Michelle P: For extra protection for my friend under his riding jeans. Jun 28, 2015
Chris M: I usually ride with my everyday jeans. I just wanted an extra layer of protection for my lower body, without going with other pants. Jun 17, 2015
Garey C: I already owned the soft armor version and wanted to have a second pair of under pant armor shorts so I selected the hard armor version of EVS for comparison. Mar 3, 2015
Joseph A: Gives me the added protection I was looking. The shorts also keeps my hips loose for a longer period of time.. Feb 22, 2015
Rushil A: looks like it would be very discrete under the jeans Jun 15, 2014
A shopper asked: I'm not riding yet but hopefully getting a ninja 300 next year for my first bike, I'll be using it for commuting short distances and also taking rides in the countryside. I want to be as protected as possible but also don't want to over do it. Are these shorts something that I would wear underneath riding pants for regular riding or are they more for dirt off road riding? Thanks Jun 3, 2015

Scott M: Ive been riding dirtbikes for 10 yrs now and streetbikes for 3. I bought a pair of these a yr ago and they are great for both. The little chamois alone is a huge plus on medium to long rides. Almost entirely eliminates monkey butt. I bought the ones with the hard hip pads for the street mainly to wear under jeans for a little slide protection cuz my dbiking pants already have hip pads. But I wear them for either kind of riding. Don't know why I hadn't bought them sooner! Jun 3, 2015

Routh S: hi...

These pants are to be weared under pants...
I wear them under my jeans...

and you cannot limit the use of these shorts to dirt and off roads...

Crotch padding makes me feel comfortable on long Rides...
The protectors on the sides are much needed protection, which i learned from an incident happened to my friend...
And it is not bulky at all.... And easy to move around...

i recommend this product...

William C: I wear them under track leathers as extra padding. They're better than nothing under jeans or regular pants but I wouldn't recommend riding without full gear including leather trousers. Jun 14, 2015

Benjamin B: Honestly I think they're overkill. I bought them when I first got my bike and was overly safety conscious. They fit a little too snug and I never ended up wearing them at all. I don't think I know any riders that wear something like this regularly, especially not for commuting short distances. Hell, for rides around town I don't even wear my leathers, just jeans (granted they're kevlar weave, but anyway), jacket, gloves, and helmet with regular boots. For my hour+ commutes to work on the highway in excess of 100mph, I wear my leathers and some real race boots, but still don't wear these. Maybe I'll wear them sometimes when I head out to really push the limits of my bike on some twisties, but otherwise I don't bother. Jun 3, 2015

Paul A asked: Are these riding shorts machine washable?? Oct 31, 2014

Oliver D: I'll be honest - these are really made for off the beaten path biking (bicycling). I wore them for a month before I deemed them pointless. I haven't washed them (can't imagine there would be any issues if you washed them on cold). Hope that helps. Oct 31, 2014

A shopper asked: Hi, do the hard pads cover your actual hip bone? Thanks. Sep 26, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Wayne P: The top of the hard pads hit the bottom of the waist line for me and stop around mid-thigh. I wore these on my last ride and were very comfortable to the point of not thinking of them being there. They fit right over my racing pants and did not ride up like normal boxer briefs do, a huge plus!. A must have for any rider looking for protection in the lower regions. Sep 26, 2014

John C: No, the hard pads sit in front of my actual hip bone. The shorts do not cover the way I expected them to.

Furthermore, I agree with SP on the elastic being too tight for the tightness of the shorts.

Rauno P: Sort of, but not really in any substantive way. The plastic piece on the side is too narrow (picture shows it much larger than it actually is due to the angle of the photo) to provide real protection. Sep 26, 2014

SP 634910688 i: Yes kind of .. U need to wear it up to the belly ..
But the elastic that hold the short on on ur hip is actually too tight while the shorts it self isn't tight enough to serve its purpose .. Fyi

A shopper asked: I'm looking for some decent hip/tailbone protection that can fit under jeans/shorts. How good are these for road impact and abrasion (I'm guessing they're meant for dirt) and can they fit under jeans or shorts without looking too ridiculous? May 16, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Fabian F: These are super comfortable!!!! No bulging not not noticeable! I wear them under everything! They're very breathable so they're not sweaty after long trips or hot days! The hip pads and tail bone pads seem pretty reliable. That's only cause I haven't taken a spill since wearing them. But they're not heavy. This is a must buy. Not only is it comfy but it will give you the extra security you're looking for! May 16, 2014

A shopper asked: I read the reviews for this items, and some say that it runs large, while others say it's true to size? Can anyone clarify? I wear size 36 jeans. Would I be a large in these shorts? Jun 5, 2014

Oliver D: I have a slim waist and found these to be on the tighter side if anything. I think you're safe to order your normal size. Jun 5, 2014

Gabriel C: Yup, I found they run true to size. I wear a size 32 jeans normally & medium size fit like a glove, so if you're normally size 36 waist in jeans I'd definitely go with a large.

Cheers,
Gabe
