EVS Tug 05 Impact Riding Shorts
These shorts are a great buy
What I like about them is that they are pretty low profile - can't even tell I have them on. And they are comfortable too.

Know what you need them for
These are more for comfort on longer rides than serious protection. The hip protectors look much bigger in the picture than in real life, and tailbone is covered with a tiny piece of plastic.

Game changer for me.
I've always had problems with tail bone pain and these shorts have eliminated it. Very comfortable and my wife says my butt looks fabulous in them!

Purpose-designed; well constructed with excellent features--Made in USA!!
The size chart referenced in the product description is generic and is somewhat misleading. Here are the sizes as listed on the TUG 05 tag:
These sizes seem to be consistent with US men's pant waist size, and seem to be accurate. As the TUG 05 is designed to provide a compression fit, it does run slightly small.
The center of the hip protector side pads are stiff. As others have pointed out, the edges do press into your hips when seated. Just how much is proportional with the degree of hip flexion (e.g., sport bike >> cruiser). It's noticeable, but not bad. However, it does have the potential to become uncomfortable on a longer ride.
The EVS TUG 05 is a purpose-designed undergarment, and is probably best suited for the occasional track day, advanced rider course, practicing low-speed maneuvering in a parking lot, or any time when you want that extra degree of protection. Otherwise, you may find the discomfort distracting after awhile and that it outweighs the benefit, especially if you already have dedicated MC pants. For normal street riding or touring the EVS TUG 03 may be a better choice.

For the Protection Minded Guy
Had a big spill on a dual-sport where I felt like I had broken my tailbone and wished I had better protection back there. These shorts were the trick with protection in all the right areas and fits like a glove. I am 6'2" at 200 pounds and wear a 34 in pant size. The sizing chart didn't give me a great idea of what I needed but went with the Medium and very pleased with the fit.
They fit like a boxer brief, but don't see any reason to wear boxer's beneath these. The only draw-back that I have found is it doesn't make it easy for you to use the bathroom as there is no "easy access" flap here.
I haven't been off-road with them yet, but I know for sure if I do go down again, I will be protected! Definitely worth the buy and plan on doing an update to this review with a video at a later date!

Great Protection and Comfort
These shorts are great.! They have all the protection you want in all the right places, and the shorts work great under a pair of jeans and don't look ridiculous. You can't tell from the pictures, but these shorts has some padding in the crouch area. Which makes things much easier when that unexpected bump comes along.....Great buy!

This is the second motorcross product that I purchased for high traffic commuting. I use it in conjunction with protective pants that provide abrasion resistance, as I've found that products with integrated padding have a tendency to be far more expensive. As a commuter on a sportbike in a large city, I appreciate the fact that motorcross padding will provide the protection it was designed to give if I'm involved in a low speed collision and bounce off of a car or the curb. I don't know if the product description lists the fact that the crotch and seat of the shorts are padded much like bicycle riding shorts, and this is something I'm thankful for every time I'm in the saddle for an extended period of time. THESE SHORTS FIT A LITTLE LARGE. If that's what you're going for, order true to size, otherwise I'd recommend going down one size.

Great fit keeps you cool with protection
I bought a pair of Klim Shorts. But these offer almost as much protection, they're more comfortable, they're a better fit, and the price was almost half of what the Klim's were. They also have a much better waistband. They stay up around your waist unlike the Klim's had a tendency to slide down. The plastic protection on the side did not dig into my leg.
