Good value, but could be better
These are really comfortable for long days in the saddle. My only problem with them is the hip pad is too small. It did not cover a previous hip injury I had - and that's a spot I've hit several times before. So for hip protection it's almost useless.

Good product
This is the second motorcross product that I purchased for high traffic commuting. I use it in conjunction with protective pants that provide abrasion resistance, as I've found that products with integrated padding have a tendency to be far more expensive. As a commuter on a sportbike in a large city, I appreciate the fact that motorcross padding will provide the protection it was designed to give if I'm involved in a low speed collision and bounce off of a car or the curb. I don't know if the product description lists the fact that the crotch and seat of the shorts are padded much like bicycle riding shorts, and this is something I'm thankful for every time I'm in the saddle for an extended period of time. THESE SHORTS FIT A LITTLE LARGE. If that's what you're going for, order true to size, otherwise I'd recommend going down one size.

Great fit keeps you cool with protection
I bought a pair of Klim Shorts. But these offer almost as much protection, they're more comfortable, they're a better fit, and the price was almost half of what the Klim's were. They also have a much better waistband. They stay up around your waist unlike the Klim's had a tendency to slide down. The plastic protection on the side did not dig into my leg.

Fits well and has side armor
I already own the EVS Tug O2 riding shorts and needed a second pair when the first were being washed. So I decided to upgrade to the 05 for my second pair. They fit slimly under pants as do the 02's, and snugly against my thighs and remain in place.
Size for me as a waist 35-36 wearing the large is excellent.
They do add a layer under your pants so it cannot be avoided that they will add some heat. However they are thin and move with your body well and I've worn them in warmer San Diego days without undue discomfort.
I recommend these if you are considering under pant armor.

Great Protection and Comfort
These shorts are great.! They have all the protection you want in all the right places, and the shorts work great under a pair of jeans and don't look ridiculous. You can't tell from the pictures, but these shorts has some padding in the crouch area. Which makes things much easier when that unexpected bump comes along.....Great buy!

Good overall
I ride on the more aggressive side and wanted a little more protection. These shorts offer that but can be a little uncomfortable in a full tuck position.

Great for seat comfort, below average hip protection.
I stopped shopping for a new seat for my WR250R after riding all day in these bad boys. The shammy made all the difference in the world by completely eliminating the saddle rash I normally have after a couple hours of riding. As far as protection goes; great concept, poor coverage. I went down on a trecherious stretch of single track and landed on my hip. The armor covers the anterior portion of the hip but leaves the lateral posterior area vulnerable. I wear a size 32 waist and had to exchange the med for small.

Needs more coverage
My biggest complaint by far about this product is that the armor doesn't cover my hips - I'm speaking about the area right at my hip joint. It gives great coverage of my thighs and the plastic seems quality enough to help in a crash, but it doesn't extend high enough to cover what I would imagine would be a high impact area, especially if I ended up sliding on my side.

Also, part of the stitching holding the tailbone pad in is starting to rip after three washes. This may partially be my fault since I forgot to remove the pad before washing last time, but I felt that it was worth mentioning.

Other than that, the shorts are pretty comfortable and are probably as breathable as armored shorts are going to get in the Texas heat. I wear 34-36" pants and a LG fit me great.

They are good quality and I recommend them if they are what you're looking for. However, they are probably not something I would have bought personally had I tried them on in person first as they just don't offer enough coverage in my mind.

These shorts are a great buy
What I like about them is that they are pretty low profile - can't even tell I have them on. And they are comfortable too.

I bought this for some extra protection when riding on the street. Very comfortable, and it did help with a low side fall not to long after I purchased it.

I'm not riding yet but hopefully getting a ninja 300 next year for my first bike, I'll be using it for commuting short distances and also taking rides in the countryside. I want to be as protected as possible but also don't want to over do it. Are these shorts something that I would wear underneath riding pants for regular riding or are they more for dirt off road riding? Thanks
A shopper on Jun 3, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Ive been riding dirtbikes for 10 yrs now and streetbikes for 3. I bought a pair of these a yr ago and they are great for both. The little chamois alone is a huge plus on medium to long rides. Almost entirely eliminates monkey butt. I bought the ones with the hard hip pads for the street mainly to wear under jeans for a little slide protection cuz my dbiking pants already have hip pads. But I wear them for either kind of riding. Don't know why I hadn't bought them sooner!
Are these riding shorts machine washable??
Paul A on Oct 31, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I'll be honest - these are really made for off the beaten path biking (bicycling). I wore them for a month before I deemed them pointless. I haven't washed them (can't imagine there would be any issues if you washed them on cold). Hope that helps.
Hi, do the hard pads cover your actual hip bone? Thanks.
A shopper on Sep 26, 2014
BEST ANSWER: The top of the hard pads hit the bottom of the waist line for me and stop around mid-thigh. I wore these on my last ride and were very comfortable to the point of not thinking of them being there. They fit right over my racing pants and did not ride up like normal boxer briefs do, a huge plus!. A must have for any rider looking for protection in the lower regions.
I'm looking for some decent hip/tailbone protection that can fit under jeans/shorts. How good are these for road impact and abrasion (I'm guessing they're meant for dirt) and can they fit under jeans or shorts without looking too ridiculous?
A shopper on May 16, 2014
BEST ANSWER: These are super comfortable!!!! No bulging not not noticeable! I wear them under everything! They're very breathable so they're not sweaty after long trips or hot days! The hip pads and tail bone pads seem pretty reliable. That's only cause I haven't taken a spill since wearing them. But they're not heavy. This is a must buy. Not only is it comfy but it will give you the extra security you're looking for!
I read the reviews for this items, and some say that it runs large, while others say it's true to size? Can anyone clarify? I wear size 36 jeans. Would I be a large in these shorts?
A shopper on Jun 5, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I have a slim waist and found these to be on the tighter side if anything. I think you're safe to order your normal size.
I read in some of the reviews of this product that it runs large, while others say it's true to size. Can anyone clarify this? I wear size 36 jeans. Would I be a large in these shorts?
A shopper on Jun 5, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Yup, I found they run true to size. I wear a size 32 jeans normally & medium size fit like a glove, so if you're normally size 36 waist in jeans I'd definitely go with a large.

Cheers,
Gabe
What is the size chart on these?
Patrick O on Oct 6, 2013
BEST ANSWER: I wear 32 pants, Medium size boxers, so I got this TUG short size Medium .. and fits just fine if not a bit tight on the belly
