Shaped like a skinny rectangle? Got a pair of these in black, size: 40. Fits, but doesn't. Comfy...Zippers look great but I'm not too sure if they work very well. Also I measure @ 5'1'' and waist: 25, hip: 34, thigh 20.5 inches. So, these pants definitely fit me pretty snug (I don't need to adjust the velcro straps on the hips any tighter) and they don't seem to squeeze anywhere... they seem a bit long if I'm just walking around but not to much when I'm on my bike (but I'm also short - Pant inseam: 28 inches/ entire leg inseam if that's a thing is 29.5 inches). There isn't any crack showing from behind when sitting in a chair or on the bike but I do wish the legs were a bit slimmer around the calves, boot-cut is nice an all but I'd rather be able to either tuck the pants inside my street shoes comfortably OR not have them flapping around when I hop on the freeway for a few minutes - on the way to work or school. I think the length wouldn't bother me so much if the calves were a bit more fitted and not so loosey-goosey flappin around in the wind and everything. Also, they look kind of like fire resistant pants haha! Almost forgot to mention that it attracts lint and fur * not so great for black pants. No slots for hip pads, has slots for the Dainese knee pad "things" but does not come with it - must be purchased separately. Don't get these if you're looking for protection, it's more for looks than anything :) Only selected "No, I do not recommend this product." because I like to encourage others to wear protective gear, not just to try and look cool all the time. I bought them for short rides, still need to purchase that extra knee protection! May 16, 2016
Stylish, comfortable, little protection First I want to say that I have always ridden with BMW apparel, but the discomfort in riding with crunchy bulky textile pants was so bad I felt it bordered on being a safety hazard because I was that uncomfortable. I still ride with BMW jackets, but I now ride with BMW cotton City Pants and these Dainese Yamato cotton pants. They are the only pants that I can tolerate because they are made of cotton. Even the BMW textile Air Flow pants are no match to cotton in my opinion. The Dainese Yamato pants are a slim cut so they are very flattering, in comparison to BMW's unisex XS City Pants, but they sorely lack in protection. The knee pads that you can buy are very wimpy and there is no hip protection. The men's version of these very same pants have hip and knee protection but I guess Dainese thinks women don't want their hips to look any larger so they leave them out! So, yes I would recommend them if you are bothered by textile pants, but if protection is first and foremost, you would not be happy with these pants. I am considering constructing a hip pocket in these pants for placement of my BMW City Pants hip pads. May 24, 2015
Exactly As Advertised Alternative to Jeans only. No real protection. Upgrade to Tech pant if it's safety you want. Backside coverage is fabric challenged...need to wear a longer shirt to tuck in. Don't know why they didn't arch that some. Airflow zips are mostly for looks. Buy the knee pads. They fit perfectly and are unobtrusive...and your only protection. 5'6/160 fits Size 50 for a reference. (and yes, I'm tired of only reading about girlfriends wearing Size 2's!) Pant is slimming in black and goes with everything. Good change of pace pant. August 11, 2014
