Great choice for the urban commuter
This jacket is perfect for the daily rider and commuter who transitions regularly from the bike to the desk to dinner downtown. It has proven to be both lightweight and stylish (the compliments keep coming), and completely comfortable.
So far, it has served me well through three seasons here in the Southeast. With the lining, I was quite comfortable during those low 30 degree morning commutes to work. The minimal venting in this jacket actually provided some relief when the temp, during a day of riding, moved into the 70s. Definitely keeps you dry when you get caught in the wet. I’ll be sad to see this go when I transition to summer mesh.
Runs a bit small as is often typical with Euro brands. I’m 5’5” and wear a US size 4, and found a size 44 fit me well with room to spare for some extra layers and a back protector.

Very warm & stylish!
I am new to winter riding, and truly loving Dainese clothing for women. I have a lighter jacket by Dainese, which fits a bit more snug in a size 44. For the D-Dry Jacket I went with a size 46 (I'm 5' 4" and wear a US size 6), so that I could fit extra layers under the jacket without it being too tight. (So I would keep that in mind when purchasing.) It is extremely warm and breathable. It is also incredibly stylish, and as a city rider I can easily transition from my bike to a restaurant, it looks pretty formal and sleek.

Perfect Transitional Jacket
Don't get me wrong, this jacket is hands down the best looking women's jacket on the market. While it's great for early spring into early summer or late fall riding, it is NOT ideal for truly cold conditions. Tried it out this weekend for a 2-up ride to the Catskills and it was perfect in 45-55 degree weather, but below 45 wasn't ideal. I could only imagine that it wouldn't fair well during solo rides as I had a guy blocking lots of the wind for me anyway. Also, due to the tight fit it's a bit uncomfortable to wear bulkier layers underneath so keep that in mind.
I look forward to wearing this for more 2-up and solo rides when the weather is a bit more mild (50 degrees and up) but I wouldn't wear it for super cold weather adventure riding. All that being said, I don't regret buying it because it is stylish as h*ll and isn't too heavy to wear around town due to the pro shape armor.

Beauty and Function
I love the Elise jacket! I rarely find a 38 so I jumped at the chance when I saw it came in it, it fits like a dream, is warm and when worn in pouring rain, it kept me dry. I have been complimented on this jacket since the first day I started wearing it.

I'm concerned that the Pro shape soft protectors in this jacket won't offer enough protection in a spill. How do you rate these compared with the removable composite protectors eg. as in the EVO System jacket?
Can the shoulder and elbow protection in this jacket be upgraded to the removable composite protectors? I'd be happy to purchase these separately and modify the Elise jacket lining for fitment.
I've worn this jacket throughout the fall/winter of last year into the spring and find its incredibly comfortable mostly due to the soft protection (hex patterned) incorporated. There are many sports including football that have incorporated this system in their protective gear and I believe that it would provide the protection necessary in the event of a crash. To our benefit new technology continues to improve and the comfort is a benefit to us while still providing protection and style which this jacket definitely delivers. Unfortunately the protection is sewn into the jacket so replacement is not an option unless you have a seamstress add panels that can Velcro to accept inserts like the Knox system. Hope this helps in making your decision.Sep 24, 2013
