Nice protection while still casual
These pants are sturdy and the denim has very little give. The knee protectors are low profile and removable. I'm 5'4, about 120 lbs, 28 waist, 38 hip, 28 inseam and ordered a size 29 with the denim in mind.

While in riding position these pants are comfortably snug, and pulling my leg over the bike offers some resistance through the hip. Size 28, while also in the window of those measurements, may be too restrictive for that purpose. Hip and inseam measurements seem true to size, but the waist measurement runs a bit large - some may need to wear a belt or have it taken in to prevent a gap in the back.

I bought these to commute in with some protection without having to change at work, and they look like they'll get the job done.

Simultaneously too small and too large
I was very excited to see Dainese had made a women's jean with Aramid yarns woven into the denim. I ordered a size that would fit my waist, but they ended up being too large in the waist and yet too small through the thighs. Since the denim has no stretch to it whatsoever, this means that I have to get the legs of the jeans damp in order to get the fabric to stretch just that little extra bit to pull them up all the way over my legs, then have to follow up with a belt to keep the waist from gapping in the back when I sit on my bike. Disappointing since they're a stylish jean that I was hoping to wear more often. At least the knee protection has a low profile and conforms to my shape well.

Stylish protection also for men
As a short male I've had trouble finding a pair of riding jeans that fit well and offered protection. After trying a ton of different pairs of both men and women's jeans I found the 4K jeans to fit the bill. Although the protection isn't up to par with some of the other manufactures, the style and fit won me over. They fit pretty slim compared to most, have decent protection, and definitely don't give away that they're actually made for woman.

Gaps at back, thighs too tight
These are pretty unforgiving in their shape. They probably work if you're an "apple" who holds your weight in the middle. But on me (athletic build, slim waist, strong thighs) they're horribly uncomfortable and restrictive in the legs while leaving an enormous gap at the back.

When I first tried them on I thought, 'well, they'll stretch,' but that's not the case. It was an expensive mistake for me. So be forewarned: if they don't fit when you first try them on, send them back!

Good product
As a new rider I don't know too much about gear, but these fit well, are easy to move around in and are comfortable. Very happy with my purchase.

Love them!
I was a little worried- Dainese tends to run a little small but I ordered the 30 and the jeans fit perfect. A little long but that's as easy is folding up the cuffs! I love the feeling of the knee pads too. I feel way safer doing my daily commute with these on rather than regular jeans!

Dainese quality
These jeans were my main riding jeans for 4 months- I love the more "relaxed fit" and that they were tapered at the cuff- boot cut jeans do not play well with foot pegs! They are tight around my thighs when I first put them on after a wash- they stretch a bit after that. I'm 5'6" 135# and not curvy ??. I'm happy for the value of these jeans considering I bought them on sale. The knee armor is removable and moves to actually cover my knee when I get on my bike.

Got these for the wife, and she loves them
As the ladies know, it seems pretty hard to find a set of riding jeans that both offer a good degree of protection while also looking stylish. These are not the most stylish jeans she has, but they look good on and off the bike and seem to have protection where most needed.

Would buy again.

great pant, runs small
Got this for my wife (slim build, 163cm 58kg, normally AU10-12 pant) - she says: great slimfit pant in cold weather against the wind. However, feels quite tight at the thighs, making getting on/off very tight. comfortable once on. She ordered a 28 size that matched the Revzilla size guide. She'll be getting next size up for next order.

Nice and comfortable my wife says.
Rodolfo A on Nov 10, 2016
I'm very happy with these jeans. They are a little heavier than the Kateville so feel a little more protective and a little warmer for the early morning ride to work. The cuff is very tapered so can be tricky getting over the tall riding boots but once there, they stay in place nicely and are perfect with my low boots. I'd definitely recommend them.

Do these jeans have the additional Kevlar lining in the seat?
Rachel O on Sep 18, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Yes in the seat and knees/shins.
What size shall I get? My waistline is 28", my hip is 36". My inseam is 29"
A shopper on Nov 28, 2016
In the photos the rise looks quite high. Where does the waist hit? At the true waist, or are they a more modern lower-cut?
A C on Dec 29, 2015
BEST ANSWER: For me, they sit slightly below the belly button. I'm about 5'3 and got the 34 to get more room in the thigh area. They are slightly roomy but comfortable
