Dainese has taken the protective aspects of leather and combined them with the comfort of fabric in the Spartan66. Innovative and patented 2skin technology is used in construction to bring the biaxial elastic properties of S1 fabric to the mechanical qualities of the leather, to which it is laminated at the points that require greater strength. Quality street riding protection This is my first pair of Dainese leather pants. I have previously worn the Dainese textile pants for a number of years now. The sizing is quite different from my Alpinestars leather pants. I had to go up two sizes from A-Stars sz. 48 to Dainese sz. 52. Be sure to check with Revzilla Customer Service before ordering so you won't have to do the exchange like I did. The pants fit perfectly now and I am very pleased with the protection level for street riding. If you are doing track days, you will want to go to the next level of pant w/knee sliders. I would recommend the Spartan 66 leather pants to any avid recreational street/sport rider. November 26, 2012
Great leather pants When I ordered the pants I wore 34/30 jeans. Using that information in conjunction with the sizing guide worked best for me in choosing the correct size, 52. I was concerned about the knee armor not being in the correct place because of my short inseam but it seems perfect when on the bike. When they arrived they were comfortably snug. Now that they've been broken in and I'm down to 32/30 jeans they feel perfect. The pants are very comfortable, even in the 90-100 degree temperatures we've been having these past few weeks. I've paired these with the Dainese Greyhound jacket and they zip together fine. July 1, 2012

Answer: 
Icon jackets can not attach to Dainese pants, or any other brands for that matter. For the most part, manufacturers use different size zippers so only their pants and jackets can be zipped together. Icon does make the Overlord Prime Leather Pants, which will zip together with your Overlord Prime Leather Jacket.

Do these pants sit high on the waist? Should I stick to the size chart regarding waist? I take it they will stretch to a degree. Temperature range these pants fit into? If I added armored shorts, would that effect the sizing? Reflective?

I noticed this pant isn't listed as coming with CE rated armor. Does it have inserts that can take CE rated armor as an additional accessory? Or does it actually include CE armor?

These pants come with Pro Shape soft protectors certified to the EN 1621.1/97 Standard, which is a fancy terminology that manufactures will use to describe something that is CE certified. Thus, the armor in these pants are CE certified.

Sorry to be a pest but wondering if these pants will zip to an Alpinestar leather jacket? Obviously the A-star jacket has the zipper connection, just wasn't sure of compatibility or zipper sizing issues.

Answer: 
The connection zipper from Dainese pants would only work with Dainese jackets. Generally, each brand will use its own gauge/size zipper on all of their products. However, almost every pair of pants will come with the female end of the connection zipper. One would need to take the female end of that zipper, along with their jacket and pants, to a seamstress/tailor and it would be a simple modification to sew the female end of the zipper into the jacket. This would then allow the user to connect the pants and jacket from two different brands.

Sizing is not a typo, these pants will be available from 44 to 64 Euro.

'Track approved' gear depends on the specific track regulations and might be different from one location to another. It may be technically approved by your local track, but not recommended for track use as these pants does not offer knee sliders.

SIZING INSTRUCTIONS

We highly recommend finding a cloth tape measure and taking the time to take these measurements. Dainese sizes will not necessarily correlate with fitment in other brands.

  • Chestwidth: Measure from under/top of armpit cross chest to under/top of other armpit, then across back to first armpit
  • Waist: Measure at the hourglass of your torso, (circumference measured at your belly button)
  • Hips: pelvic bone to pelvic bone, the widest part of your hips below the waist
  • Inseam: from crotch to big ankle bone
  • Outseam: from waist to big ankle bone
