Like Waterproof Sweatpants Unbelievably comfortable! Seriously feels like wearing sweatpants. Waterproofing comes from a soft, thin, fairly breathable sewn in liner. It can get a little warm, but it's still better than all others I've worn. Unfortunately none of those zippers on the front are for ventilation, and none are waterproof. Crash protection seems kind of questionable because they're so soft, but hopefully it's as good as any other textiles. Armor isn't as good as BMW pants, but is still reasonable. Good, comfortable, removable knee/shin armor, and soft, sewn in hip padding with good coverage. If you're not into dealing with waterproof overpants or removable liners, these are a good choice. How waterproof are these pants? More than the D-system or galvestone gore-tex?

D-dry is Dainese's own branded breathable waterproof membrane and works quite well. If your main concern is waterproofing, you should consider the Dainese Galvestone Gore-Tex pants, which is a great upgrade for only $20. The Gore-Tex membrane comes with a guarantee to keep you dry and a removable thermal liner for added temperature flexibility.

I have only rode in the rain a couple times with these and I've had no problems. I don't know about long rides though. I've never done more than about 20 - 30 minutes of riding in the rain with these. However, I noticed a short while ago that there are multiple rips in the pants at the seems. I will be trying to get the replaced or refunded soon.

Answer: 
In my opinion, these are not commuting pants, they are more for sport orientated riding and feels best when zipped onto a sports jacket. Since they are airflow pants they are not waterproof at all.

Has a liner. But found I did not need it even when cold. But they are not waterproof as advertised.

SIZING INSTRUCTIONS

We highly recommend finding a cloth tape measure and taking the time to take these measurements. Dainese sizes will not necessarily correlate with fitment in other brands.

  • Chestwidth: Measure from under/top of armpit cross chest to under/top of other armpit, then across back to first armpit
  • Waist: Measure at the hourglass of your torso, (circumference measured at your belly button)
  • Hips: pelvic bone to pelvic bone, the widest part of your hips below the waist
  • Inseam: from crotch to big ankle bone
  • Outseam: from waist to big ankle bone
