CRG RC2 Brake Lever for Yamaha R6 / R1

The RC2 is a brand new version of the on-the-fly position adjustable lever, designed for OEM style master cylinders. A worthy successor to the highly successful, race-proven Roll-a-Click lever, the RC2 offers a higher level of refinement and design through details that include a replaceable black delrin lever tip, extensive use of the newest CNC machine surfacing techniques, custom hardware, and precision laser etched graphics. A redesigned miniature "clicker" lever controls a roller cam assembly, giving riders the ability to manipulate lever position while riding. Brake fade and clutch adjustments can be tuned in with ease. Levers can be adjusted for small or large hand sizes. The RC2 levers are available in Standard and "Shorty" (1-1/4" shorter that the Standard) lengths and in 3 anodized colors - Black, Red and Gold.

Features:

  • 6061-T6 aluminum CNC machined billet construction
  • Six on-the-fly adjustable positions
  • Standard or shorty lever lengths
  • Scuff resistant, black delrin replaceable tip
  • Integrated black plated CNC machined torx hardware
  • Laser etched graphics

great levers for comfort and performance! 100% fitment
A lot of after market levers tend to have fitment issues or just plain SUCK. After many trial and errors I decided to just go the right way with CRG trusted levers.
After picking up these bad boys.....Never again will I go cheap on levers.

Very Satisfied
I purchased both the brake and clutch lever. They fit much better than the factory levers and feel way more comfortable. At $100dlls it seems like a fair price.

Good quality brake lever, but with a caveat..
I have a 2015 Yamaha R6, and the lever I was sent had a late brake light-switch engagement issue. I contacted RevZilla about the issue, but since I had test fitted the lever on the bike, they stated I needed to engage the manufacturer for assistance as the lever was now considered used. The lever was purchased from RevZilla on 2016-03-10.

The issue I experienced took a little over a month to get a resolution. The following is the follow-up email I sent to RevZilla today, 2016-04-21:

Just following up regarding the issue I experienced with the CRG RC2 brake lever on my 2015 Yamaha R6. CRG sent me a modified replacement front brake lever today, 04/21/2016. I had initially sent in my stock front brake lever to CRG along with the CRG lever with the issue for measurement and testing. They sent me what I believe to be a revised lever, though the part number is the same.

I've tested the replacement lever and the very-late brake light engagement previously experienced no longer exists. Now the lever/bike behaves as expected.

[...] In total, it took a little over 1 month to resolve, but I'm glad it's over with. [END]

To summarize, I ordered a CRG RC2 front brake lever (2RB-516) for my 2015 Yamaha R6, which behaved unexpectedly: very-late brake light-switch engagement. I sent in my stock lever and the CRG lever to CRG directly for testing (CRG covered shipping both ways, so Kudos to them), along with video clips of testing I did myself with the stock lever, a set of FP Racing levers, and the CRG RC2 lever. After weeks of back and forth, CRG sent me a replacement front brake lever, which I was able to successfully test today.

In addition, it would appear most aftermarket brake levers are made for riders with larger hands. They tend to offer much more adjustment towards making the levers wider opposed to smaller. I wear a size Medium in Alpinestars with a 8.25-8.5" palm circumference for reference. Currently the lever is set to position 2 of 6 (adjustment range: 1 smallest - 6 widest).

I've tested the levers against multiple manufacturers: cheap eBay levers, FP Racing levers, and stock levers.

Fit and finish wise, the CRG RC2 and the FP Racing levers are equal, while the eBay levers were not milled as nicely. Fit on the eBay levers were perfectly fine (go figure), but I had similar issues with the RC2 and the FP Racing levers. The FP Racing levers were ~35% more affordable compared to CRG. The FP Racing levers, like the eBay levers, felt chunkier in the hand (on the fingers) compared to the CRGs. It is the main reason why I've chose to stick with the CRGs.

Nice upgrade over stock lever
Stock brake lever was not horrible on my 2016 R6 but I replaced the clutch and figured I would match the brake lever. Awesome adjusting on the fly feature which provides .25" of adjustment closer to the handle bar. The shorty was definitely the way to go for me. $100 for each lever? Well I paid it and it's seems worth it

im trying to purchase this brake lever to match the CRG RC2 Clutch lever but this is saying it doesn't fit. Can you tell me why it won't? My bike is the new 2015 yamaha r1
A shopper on Jun 15, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I'm no expert, but I purchased these for my 2009 r6 and I believe at the time they matched the r1, however you said you have the 2015 r1. It's more than likely that your new r1 model has a different lever designe than the older r1's, CRG most likely has not produced levers for the brand new 2015 r1's yet.
Brake Lever Range of Adjustment for 2015 Yamaha R6? I recently purchased a set of FP Racing Sport levers for my bike, but unfortunately the brake lever at the lowest setting would not adjust closer than the stocker lever. Any idea on how close you can adjust the CRG RC2s to the stock clip-ons? Thanks!
dave408 on Dec 19, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I ride with my clutch lever all the way in at the lowest setting and it gets pretty close. I'm not at home to measure the ungripped distance but to give you an idea I generally keep my last two fingers on the grip so that only my index and middle finger engage the clutch. When those two fingers come off to reach for the clutch the base of the last two fingers do not come off the grip and I don't have monster hands or anything. Now granted, I had to adjust my clutch to make this work because at the lowest setting the clutch only has the space between the lever and the top of the last two fingers to work with but it's been great so far. Short of measuring that space, I would go out on a limb and tell you to buy them because I really don't think you're gonna be disappointed, I get compliments on them all the time.
Does it come in pair? or need to place 2 in quantity box for brake and ckutch?
A S on Sep 25, 2015
BEST ANSWER: The brake and clutch lever have different types of connections and are not interchangeable. Buy this one for the brake and then look for the CRG RC2 Clutch lever for the clutch side.
