I like the Trail Attack
This is my third Trail Attack on the rear of my '07 BMW R1200GS. For the mostly road (with some dirt and gravel) riding that I do, it's a good choice. Traction seems to be better wet or dry compared to the OEM Bridgestone Trail Wings that came on the bike. Tire life is better than I had expected. I'm getting about 13k on a set of Trail Attacks.

My biggest disappointment is the difficulty I have in balancing the tire. Continental has chosen not to mark the light spot on the tire so it involves some guesswork with tire position on the rim to determine how to mount so that I use the least amount of balancing weights.

These tires have improved my riding
I replaced my stock Dunlop's on my 2011 KLR 650 with the front and rear Continental Trail Attack dual sport tires. These tires made my riding a lot smoother and they grip very well in turns. I also appear to be experiencing better handling in strong cross winds on the road. I have taken these on light gravel at 25 mph and I was able to handle my bike just fine. I did not rate the Tread life or Wet Traction because i have not experienced either although I am expecting better results from both do to Continental's quality of rubber. I have seen an improvement of approximately 2 miles per gallon from the stock Dunlop's. I highly recommend these tires.

Awesome grip on wet road.
It's way better than the original tire ( Dunlop ) that came with my '09 DRZ400SM. As to Tread life, that is yet to be tested in my case. I only had this tire for 2 weeks.

Well made tire, just low milage
I used the 180/55-17 tire on the back of a BMW R1200RT. With previous makes and models of other rear tires used on my bike I've learned to start the tire pressure at 30PSI and watch the tire wear and adjust up or down at 2,000 miles to maximize tread life. At the 2,000 mile mark the tire was wearing down the center (over inflation) and lowered the pressure by 2 PSI. At 3,000 miles I had more center wear, and lowered the pressure again by 2 PSI. At 4,000 miles the tire wore down to the wear bars, and had to get an emergency tire replacement on the road. You'll do better with a Pirelli Scorpion Trail in this size and application

Terrible Tread Life
Replaced my stock Battlewings with these tires and they shake at 35mph (Bar shake roughly 3" back and forth). Even after Conti shipped me a new front tire it still shook until I replaced with a different brand tire. The rear tire after 2500 miles is also almost shot so I would not suggest these tires to anyone.

Road on practically every other similar styled tire and I feel the Conti is the best for wear and performance.

I rode a R1200GS with this tire at the BMW Performance Center for the "On-Road" training class. It performed very well in less than ideal conditions. It was raining with temps in the lower 40's. Even under the hard braking drills there was not a hint of slipping. I felt very confident. Time to put some miles on them and see how they perform in the long haul.

Grip the road well. I have these on my Buell Ulysses. Very secure on corners. I would not recommend for the gravel roads.
