Good luck... Installed on a 2011 Monster 796. The instructions for this could have been better. You get step-by-step instructions through about half the install, then you just get blurry black and white photos that barely depict the steps, which made installing this a real pain. I called Competition Werks and they weren't very helpful either. The guy just said it had been over 4 years since he looked at the bike and he couldn't remember. Also kept stating that this job should be comlpeted by a trained technican. I have done all the work on my bike, and it isn't rocket science. Overall, this does make the bike look better, but again the instructionss are really horrible. Fast shipping and good customer service from Revzilla though. July 21, 2014
Great fit, great look Comp works makes a solid fender eliminator for the 2012 Yamaha FZ6r. Fitment is near perfect, there is a little tricky movement involved when replacing the plastic pushpins that are near the tail-light. LED blinkers look great. They are bullet connectors so either a bit of modifying or a purchase of bullet-to-Yamaha OEM connection harnesses are needed. Removes that nasty OEM tail fender though! July 21, 2014
Can do better, CW ! The kit is easy to install, instructions are pretty straight forward but you might get a headache on the electrical wiring, as they don't quite provide what's needed (there's 6 wires to connect, they provide on 2 butt plugs!). The indicators provided are pretty low quality, so expect to change them pretty quick. I have very bad luck and one of the bulb was dead when I received my kit. No big deal though as they are a couple bucks only to replace. Overhaul it's a good product. Really cleans the tail of my Street Triple. If you're a little handy and have the right tools, you can probably built it yourself. June 11, 2014
Not what I expected but did the job Thought it was a remove and replace product, but there was come cutting involved with the fender. Overall good product, if you know how to fabricate metal, then you can make your own. June 9, 2014
Good fender elim, useless signals The Good: This is a perfectly good replacement for the fender, and mounts the plate nicely, really cleaning up the look of the bike. The finish is basic metallic, but the unit itself is so small and out of the way you barely see it. Installation was pretty easy. You take half the tail apart, which is pretty straightfoward, then yank the signal wires and tag light. Four bolts removes the fender and you replace it with this (which is the biggest pain, since you line up two plates and then try to bolt them in against gravity). Having another pair of hands helps. The tag light is tiny and dim, and unfortunately you must at least cut your factory tag light wire. This is the only permanent modification required (assuming you want a tag light, which I did). The bad: I was nearly done installing this on my 2012 ZX6r when I realized that the included turn signals look like garbage and there was no way I'd be using them. They attach to the frame via one bolt and a bracket, look tacky, and feel cheap. Your milage may vary. I made the mistake of installing this without rear signals, knowing that I would want to add an integrated taillight later. Save yourself some time and, if you plan on doing an integrated taillight, order that at the same time as this and do it all at once. The hardest part of the install is the bolts to hold the plate frame, and I ended up doing that twice because I did the integrated taillight as a separate installation. In summary: This plus an integrated taillight makes for a very sweet setup on the 6r. I really wouldn't bother with the included turn signals (reason for lower bang for buck), which look cheap. Looks super clean, easy to install. This product looks great, the blinkers and wiring work well, the license plate light is a LED which looks good, and it completely cleans up the look of the bike. The directions could be a little more clear on how to get to the wiring for the blinkers, I ended up cracking the plastic not knowing how to remove the 2 pins on the underside of the right cover. Good Product, although not enough research and development. I purchased mine for a 2011 BMW S1000rr. Pros- Cleaned up the tail nicely and angled the License plate well also. Durable material. Cons- Light kit causes a LAMP! code to activate. Which can be deactivated on the bike if you have a 2012 model or newer s1000rr. If you have an older model or if you have a new model and want the lights to work correctly and blink at a normal speed, then get it deactivated at the Dealership. Which they did for me for free. They also can set the bike up so the canbus works with LED lights 2012 and up. Another thing is that with this kit, there is nothing to cover the previous hole for the wiring harness which the yoshimura kit does have and you have to drill a hole in your bike as well for the license plate light. No wire wrap. They should have included some shrink wrap for what we paid! Helpful notes: To install this properly and have your tail fit normally, than some slight modification is required to the bolts that hold the fender eliminator in place. The original fender has 3 M5X35 bolts with spacers that hold the fender eliminator in place. You need to cut 1/3 off of two of the bolts and use it to install the new eliminator. These bolts go directly into your subframe. You could also pick up 2 M5X20 bolts if you want to spend an extra dollar. The blinkers should be in position but not mounted securely in the blinker brackets yet. They should be left hanging with the wires in place but the bolt/fitting out. Install the bolt/fitting last as it will block the mounting holes for the fender eliminator. Hope this helps and Cheers! May 27, 2014
Quick, easy, looks awesome! Quick and easy to do! Looks amazing after! Cleans up the back nicely and really shows off the single sided swing arm (VFR) May 26, 2014
