Much better As most have mentioned already, I went to Lowe's and bought some high temp flat black spray paint (marketed for grills), since it comes unpainted and is bare metal. My assumption is so people can make it whatever color they want. The spray paint cost me $3, and I'm sure ill use it for other stuff so not really a big deal. I had two big issues with the install. First, my garage is incredibly hot, so that sucked. Two, I could not, for the life of me, figure out how to route the wires and attach the final plate to the brake light panel without the wires pinching. After staring at pictures on the internet (since the instructions were black and white, and didn't have pictures for a lot of the stuff), I realized something. D'oh! I was trying to put the brake light back on upside down..sigh..must have been the heat. Or the lacking instructions. Probably both. Some of the screws/nuts are hard to get to, so having some patience and a good variety of tools helps. Overall, I think the bike looks great, and I like the fact it retains stock lights and position for the most part. I don't find the relocation of the seat lock to be a big deal, since, with the dragon tail now gone, it's quite easy to access that area. July 22, 2015
This product looks good and easy to install Product should come powder coated black instead of un painted metal March 9, 2015
Decent product My first problem was the the diagram they sent wasn't for my Monster 696 and the explanations that were there were shotty, pictures weren't great either. I ran into troubles with having the seat release line up properly with the seat. Wiring was a bit of a pain too. It took some tinkering but I called the number provided and they helped me through the mounting and they did admit it was a trickier-than-normal process for my bike. Looks fantastic, you can't install it further back (on my bike) but the normal license plate position is plenty good. Knowing what I know now, I would go with it again, but if you don't want to spend the time go with the Ducati Performance Fender Eliminator. November 7, 2014
Good luck... Installed on a 2011 Monster 796. The instructions for this could have been better. You get step-by-step instructions through about half the install, then you just get blurry black and white photos that barely depict the steps, which made installing this a real pain. I called Competition Werks and they weren't very helpful either. The guy just said it had been over 4 years since he looked at the bike and he couldn't remember. Also kept stating that this job should be comlpeted by a trained technican. I have done all the work on my bike, and it isn't rocket science. Overall, this does make the bike look better, but again the instructionss are really horrible. Fast shipping and good customer service from Revzilla though. July 21, 2014
Awesome and easy to install The fender eliminator was delivered fast the product was not missing any parts, instructions were not the best but very easy to install and looks awesome on my Ducati also the lowest price at my time of purchase. October 14, 2013
Easy to install! Instructions and images are nice, only down side is it comes unpainted. Just go to your Home Depot and get one can of flat black spray paint. It matches perfectly. One hour install time. That's not including painting it. Recommended to anyone. July 15, 2013
Awesome! This is a great fender eliminator kit! However this kit is not for everyone. It comes unpainted, the seat latch gets relocated facing downward under the rear tire, and it would be very difficult for a amateur or novice person to install. I painted mine flat black right away using high heat ceramic paint baked on. It blends in directly to the bike to the point where you cant even notice it. The seat latch is facing downward now above the rear tire so I can see how it can be annoying for some people to get to it or keep clean. Since I dont use it that often and keep my bike really clean its not a big issue for me. It will be difficult for a novice or armature diy'r to install this kit. The directions start off great but kind off fall off the reservation towards the tail end of the install. It took me almost 2 hours to get everything set up the way I liked it. The biggest thing being how the wires are snaking around and through the new parts. I had done a lot of research online before buying this one. A lot of people said that it cut into the seat. It does NOT cut into the seat when properly installed. There are no sharp edges that touch the fabric of the seat. I have only seen one other fender eliminator kit in person, the evotech which I did not like at all. The evotech has the seat latch on the side which is a plus but it appears too bulky compared to the CW. The way that the license plate bracket is angled and positioned on the evotech makes it look like it sticks out really far out the back end of the bike. The CW is worth the extra time and energy to install it. It will leave your bike with that stealthy clean look your going for. April 30, 2013

ALEC S: Yes this kit will fit a 2014 Ducati Monster 696/796/1100.

I put one on my 2014 696 and it looks fantastic. The kit is bare metal so I would suggest having it powder coated. Realistically unless you've installed this kit before the installation takes 2-3 hours but in comparison to other kits I've seen this one looks the best and is well worth it. It also works well with the integrated taillight.

Ride it till' the wheels fall off!

A shopper asked: I just broke the rear turn signal off my bike getting onto it. It came completely off - will this kit still work? Or do I need to order other parts? The wiring is intact and everything, it's as if someone just sliced around the plastic. Thanks. Jun 15, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
ALEC S: Absolutely! This kit doesn't require any parts from the turn signals, just the nuts and bolts from the original fender. The wiring that you still have you can tuck up into the kit (between the seat and your new fender eliminator kit). Its very common for riders to break the rear turn signals off this bike. Id also suggest getting a integrated tail light. It looks great and eliminates those pesky turn signals that stick so far out the sides. Jun 17, 2014

John B: It depends on what broke. If the housing of the light is broken, you might need a replacement. If it's the bike side mounting, then this kit will still work. The kit comes with new hardware to mount the light housing. Jun 17, 2014
