Competition Werkes Fender Eliminator Kit Ducati Monster 696 / 796 / 1100
As most have mentioned already, I went to Lowe's and bought some high temp flat black spray paint (marketed for grills), since it comes unpainted and is bare metal. My assumption is so people can make it whatever color they want. The spray paint cost me $3, and I'm sure ill use it for other stuff so not really a big deal.
I had two big issues with the install. First, my garage is incredibly hot, so that sucked. Two, I could not, for the life of me, figure out how to route the wires and attach the final plate to the brake light panel without the wires pinching. After staring at pictures on the internet (since the instructions were black and white, and didn't have pictures for a lot of the stuff), I realized something. D'oh! I was trying to put the brake light back on upside down..sigh..must have been the heat. Or the lacking instructions. Probably both.
Some of the screws/nuts are hard to get to, so having some patience and a good variety of tools helps.
Overall, I think the bike looks great, and I like the fact it retains stock lights and position for the most part. I don't find the relocation of the seat lock to be a big deal, since, with the dragon tail now gone, it's quite easy to access that area.

This product looks good and easy to install
Product should come powder coated black instead of un painted metal

My first problem was the the diagram they sent wasn't for my Monster 696 and the explanations that were there were shotty, pictures weren't great either. I ran into troubles with having the seat release line up properly with the seat. Wiring was a bit of a pain too.
It took some tinkering but I called the number provided and they helped me through the mounting and they did admit it was a trickier-than-normal process for my bike.
Looks fantastic, you can't install it further back (on my bike) but the normal license plate position is plenty good. Knowing what I know now, I would go with it again, but if you don't want to spend the time go with the Ducati Performance Fender Eliminator.

Installed on a 2011 Monster 796. The instructions for this could have been better. You get step-by-step instructions through about half the install, then you just get blurry black and white photos that barely depict the steps, which made installing this a real pain. I called Competition Werks and they weren't very helpful either. The guy just said it had been over 4 years since he looked at the bike and he couldn't remember. Also kept stating that this job should be comlpeted by a trained technican. I have done all the work on my bike, and it isn't rocket science. Overall, this does make the bike look better, but again the instructionss are really horrible.
Fast shipping and good customer service from Revzilla though.

Easy to install!
Instructions and images are nice, only down side is it comes unpainted. Just go to your Home Depot and get one can of flat black spray paint. It matches perfectly. One hour install time. That's not including painting it. Recommended to anyone.

This is a great fender eliminator kit!
However this kit is not for everyone. It comes unpainted, the seat latch gets relocated facing downward under the rear tire, and it would be very difficult for a amateur or novice person to install.
I painted mine flat black right away using high heat ceramic paint baked on. It blends in directly to the bike to the point where you cant even notice it.
The seat latch is facing downward now above the rear tire so I can see how it can be annoying for some people to get to it or keep clean. Since I dont use it that often and keep my bike really clean its not a big issue for me.
It will be difficult for a novice or armature diy'r to install this kit. The directions start off great but kind off fall off the reservation towards the tail end of the install.
It took me almost 2 hours to get everything set up the way I liked it. The biggest thing being how the wires are snaking around and through the new parts.
I had done a lot of research online before buying this one. A lot of people said that it cut into the seat. It does NOT cut into the seat when properly installed. There are no sharp edges that touch the fabric of the seat.
I have only seen one other fender eliminator kit in person, the evotech which I did not like at all. The evotech has the seat latch on the side which is a plus but it appears too bulky compared to the CW. The way that the license plate bracket is angled and positioned on the evotech makes it look like it sticks out really far out the back end of the bike.
The CW is worth the extra time and energy to install it. It will leave your bike with that stealthy clean look your going for.
