The Scala works extremely well and excellent range for 2-way conversations. Phone calls are fantastic and resolved many work problems while riding. Just ordered the G9 Power-set to communicate with more riding buddies. Highly recommend product.Nov 19, 2013

T W: I traded a friend for a G4 mount that had a wired mic instead of a boom mic. Since then its nice and conveniently mounted but people have a hard time hearing me. I bought this unit for better sound and microphone quality upgrade to my existing G4.Aug 14, 2013
A shopper asked:The Cardo website says that the G9 system allows you to bring audio in from any 3.5mm speakers you choose. Is this bracket capable of unplugging the stock speakers? The old G4 system allows you to plug in an "audio in" (think IPOD) but does not allow swapping of OEM speakers.Mar 3, 2014
DOUG M:No, speakers are hardwired on the g4/g9 headset. I understand that the new g9x allows you to change out speakers for earbids. My g4/g9 had one speaker go bad in a week and cardo replaced in 2 days. I upgraded to the q3 set and am very happy with it, I use earbuds which the q3 accepts. Cardo Scala are great products and if problem arrises, their easy to deal with. Be sure to buy from authorized dealer which Revzilla is so that warranty is not voidedMar 6, 2014
Mark M:The G9 set does let you plug in a separate audio source (audio in) iPod etc. but it does not let you change the OEM speakers (audio out). The G9x however does let you change the OEM speaker (audio out) Go here to read about it. cardosystems-com/motorcycles/scala-rider-g9x/1
A shopper asked:Is the Cardo G9 boom microphone long enough to be mounted behind the sun visor lever on the N104 using the clamp mount? If not, would it work using the adhesive mount somewhere? I assume the boom microphone could be used on the Shoei Neotec with either the clamp or adhesive mount.Aug 15, 2012
RevZilla:The boom microphone length will work fine with the clamp or sticky mount on a Shoei Neotec.
We would have to say that the boom microphone is not going to be long enough should you choose to place it behind the internal sun visor lever. You can however use the sticky mount elsewhere on the helmet (mostly commonly used where the N-Com Device would go), which should be fine length wise.Aug 15, 2012
svMAXs:The speakers are a just a bit bigger. They have larger magnets and can produce a bit more sound db's. They also reproduce bass sound better not as tinny as the older G4 speakers. I have this new set and can hear the difference....not earth shattering....just a bit better. Also the mount is not as thick along the bottom as the G4 (looking at it from the side) The unit sits lower and looks less bulky. $60 worth?.....well thats up to the user. I have a friend I recommended them too.....and he's still my friend ;-)May 31, 2012
