Burly Brand Handlebar Cable Installation Kit For Harley Sportster
You know what they say about folks with big bars, right? Big cables. If you're thinking about living life "behind bars", you have to get some other stuff up there with your fists, too - like your clutch, brake, and control boxes. Fortunately, Burly thoughtfully packaged up all the stuff you need to do it in their very convenient Cable Install Kits.
Where applicable, includes brake lines, clutch cable, and wiring
Lines and cables are black
Made in USA
Note: Images are for general reference only and may not show the exact length cables and specific items that you will receive. The kit ordered will contain what is needed for the length and model application.
Cables for "Clubman" bar install, not all great...
All of the items in the kit are of high quality. They're packaged well and the basic instructions enclosed will get the ball rolling on the install. Here's the gripe though.
I purchased this kit thinking that they cables will be "shorter" then the stock cables and hoses that the current Iron 883 Sportster comes with. We installed the Biltwell "Maynard" bars on one of our 2 Sportsters and the factory clutch cable is just a bit longer then one would desire, it sticks way out and there just isn't a way to tuck it cleanly. After months of picture hunting and install threads on various forums, we decided to purchase this kit thinking that it was the way to go considering clubmans or clip on bars will sit way lower then the stock bars would and even on Burly Brands site, the cables on their café build looked rather short. -Sold right?!...
Wrong. After I mocked up where the Burly cables would route on the bike and saw how much the new cables would reduce in excess clutch cable length, I was disappointed. The Burly Brand café cable kit is EXACTLY THE SAME SIZE AND LENGTH as the factory cables and hoses. The exact same.
So long story short. If you are looking for a shorter cable and hose system to clean up the slack from shorter bars, look at other options, that is IF you have an Iron 883 or 48 that have the low bars stock. If you have something with mid apes or a riser, then yes, this kit will be shorter then your factory cables.

Everything you need
The kit has it all. If you are doing a handlebar swap, this is all you need to complete it. The only issues I had were that the heat shrink wrap for the cables, wasn't really big or long enough for the cables. Especially on the side with 8 wires. It is hard to get it all in there. However, it is nothing to make the kit not worth it. The biggest issue with the set is the clutch cable in my opinion. It is pretty long. The 12 inch kit could easily work on a set of 14 inch bars and the cables would probably look a little better. Right now Im happy with it, but I may be buying a new clutch cable in the near future.

larry l:I think the 12 length will be fine but they are just plastic coated cables nothing fancy. Be sure you check to make sure your existing clutch cable isn't already long enough. My new kit cable is too long really.Feb 9, 2015
A shopper asked:I have a 2011 Nightster running Biltwell Tracker bars, will this clubman kit work for shorter cables? Do you know the lengths of this clubman kit? I will know if they will fit based on the legnths.Mar 16, 2015
