BMC Air Filter

BMC has developed a particular production system based on soft rubber moulding which produces the familiar BMC red filters. They are made in one single piece with no welded joints in the corners, thus avoiding breaking risks.

  • Higher air flow than OEM filter for maximum power
  • Race-tested for performance and reliability
  • Endorsed by Yoshimura
  • Note: Picture shown may not accurately depict the exact filter you will receive that fits your vehicle

BMC Air Filter Suzuki GSX-R750 / GSX-R1100 / GSF1200S 5 5 1 1
BMC for My Bandit I have run K&N filters for years and have had very good luck. The BMC is just as good, but costs less. To some degree the ease of install and the performance benefits depend on the bike. On a Bandit it isn't at all difficult. The BMC is as easy anything else you might install. Bandit 1200s are very restricted from the factory. The 1200 has the same air box as a 600, but it draws a lot more air (or tries to). I installed the BMC in concert with a Yoshimura RS-3 and I modified the air box itself to let more air in. I decided if I this showed a noticeable improvement I would take to a pro to re-jet and dyno it to get it tuned in. I was very happy with the results and will be dyno-tuning the first chance I get. I had I done nothing else I think the BMC would still have shown modest improvement. You can really wake an engine up by letting it breathe, this is especially true for a 1200 Bandit. To get real results you have to do both intake and exhaust. What the BMC filter did was allow me to get a lot more out of the Yoshi. If you're going to drop 3 or 4 bills on a can, the additional $50 for a filter makes a lot of sense. Keep in mind, the more you get out of doing that much, the more likely the bike with run lean (and hot) so the more you'll want to do the jetting. Jetting is best done by someone with a lot of experience (and maybe a dyno) I'm going to farm that out to a pro. March 11, 2013
