Biltwell Gringo Helmet
I tried on almost 50 types of helmets. everything hurt or was uncomfortable. I couldn't ride for more than 45 min without having to stop and take a breather from the helmets that squished my head or were too hot.
This helmet is the perfect shape. Allows the perfect amount of air in. Not too noisy like I thought it would be - I'm using the bubble windshield so I'm sure that helps. TOTALLY cool looking! I hardly even feel it on and I can focus on my ride instead of my head. Oh, and the vision is pretty wide so I don't miss much. Only bad thing I can say is that with the windshield, my riding partner can't hear me even if I'm screaming at her something. So, I'm considering attaching a headset piece. I hope that doesn't affect the look.

I was sized as a medium (I'm a female) and bought the medium size white helmet. It fit snugly (actually a little too tight on the forehead) and felt secure. The chin strap was a bit too long, but it could still be secured. I like the look of the helmet and got okay breeze through the front (with no visor) and just sunglasses on.

GREAT helmet if you've got a round head. Really good if you don't.
I love this helmet. Great looking, light weight and comfortable. The videos and reviews are accurate about the fit. I've got a longer oval shaped head and while this helmet is comfortable to wear for several hours, when I take it off my forehead looks a lot like Peyton Manning's when he takes his helmet off. If my head were a different shape, this helmet would be absolutely perfect. Buy it, seriously.

Just what I expected
The Biltwell Gringo is a great choice for buyers who want a no-frills, vintage-vibe, full-face helmet. Here's the skinny on the reasons for my rating choices.
Bang for the buck: Great protection and style for $200. How could that be better?
Style: Flawless vintage shape, color.
Comfort: I have a huge noggin: nearly a size 8 with a pretty pronounced oval shape. The Gringo XL's round oval isn't perfect for my head but very good. Snug, not tight; no red marks on my forehead upon removal.
Protection and durability: I marked these excellent based on the quality I currently see, which seems flawless. Time will tell.
Air flow: Surprisingly good for no ventilation, but that makes it pretty loud.
Features: Exactly what I expected based on RevZilla's always excellent product videos. A cool retro helmet with a lot of quality and a ton of style.
I've already hit on some of the slider values, so I'll focus on the 2 remaining:
Weight: This thing is light as a feather. Seriously, I think it's lighter than my previous AGV 3/4 helmet.
Vision: It certainly isn't wide. I wouldn't call it super narrow, but that face hole (I'm sure there's a more technical term than that, but whatevs) ain't the biggest I've seen. Add Biltwell goggles, and your peripheral is a mite challenged. I find myself surveying what's behind me by moving around to widen my view of the mirrors when wearing the goggles. That works, but it ain't ideal. Open or with a facemask, of course, the vision is fine.
Bottom line: I dig it. A bunch. Great style and protection for a very reasonable price. Kudos Biltwell.

Great style and comfort for price
Great detail and style inside and out. Comfy and good air flow for price. I don't feel my head fighting resistance on the highway.

Gringo saved my butt
I purchased this helmet a few weeks ago just to have a helmet. I didn't really plan on wearing it much but when I saw how great the blue flake popped in the sun I started wearing it all the time. The chrome mirror bubble shield also complimented the looks and kept the bugs out of my face.. Fast forward to a few days ago I was getting off the highway in an unfamiliar location and the exit ramp was much sharper than I realized. In a panic I locked the rear brake going about 50mph and ended up high siding my bike. I landed on the pavement and slid into the ditch 40-50ft away. The gringo stayed on tight and and kept my head stable, I sustained no head injuries. Based on the location of the scuffs I think it's safe to say that had I not been wearing the helmet I'd be missing a few marbles at the least. Thanks Biltwell for a great looking and safe helmet! I will buy again.

I like the feeling of an open face helmet, but my wife likes the idea of a full face helmet's protection level for me when I ride. This helmet is the perfect combination of the 2.
There are no vents on the shell of the helmet, but there is also no face shield. The wide front opening flows all of the air you could ever want. The overall construction is great as is the attention to detail. I have an extra large head and finding a helmet that fits properly is an issue sometimes. The overall fit is very good for me, very true to sizing as far as I'm concerned.
I would definitely recommend this helmet to anyone wanting a full face style helmet, but also wanting some wind in the face.

Great Helmet, Style and Workmanship couldn't be better.
Love the style and workmanship. Very light weight and good vision. Size was a little small for me, I wear an XL in the Bell 500 series, the XXL for the Gringo fit the same. Would recommend it to anyone.
