Bell Vortex / Star / Revolver / RS1 Faceshield
Dark vs Light Tint Visor
I originally wanted the automatic tinting shield but decided against it because of reviews stating it is too light. I did not want to use a mirrored shield this time as they scratch way too easy and scratches are annoying. So I decided on a dark and light tinted shield to see which would work best. The light shield was too light, almost like nothing at all. I was concerned that the dark shield would be too "blue." I had an HJC dark tinted shield that was that way. The Bell dark tinted shield is not. In full sun the dark shield made everything look a little hazy. Not so much that it was annoying or distracting. I just happened to notice it after about 1-1/2 hours of riding. For me, the dark shield was just right. I would not recommend using it at night as it would be way too dark.

An overall great tinted sheild!
This dark iridium shield for the bell vortex helmet is and was a great purchase. I gives the provided and desired protect from the sun while riding while also not being completely too dark. The qaulity is very good and has a great finish to it. Im more than happy with it and I recommend this to everyone with the bell vortex helmet !

Dark Gold Iridium
The dark gold iridium looks AWESOME! It's dark and onlookers can't see through it in the daytime. For the rider it blocks the sun out, even when riding directly into the sun it does a good job of blocking the sun and sunglasses are not needed.
I have been caught riding at night with this shade on more than a few times and it's not terrible. You just need to be careful because obviously it does inhibit your vision. Bright headlights will help you and if you are riding in a small city or lit town then it's not too bad either. Dark highways can be a bit harder to navigate but again just ride slower and be careful.
I have had this shade for two years now and have a few scratches on it as it does scratch relatively easily. But after 2 years of riding and thousands of miles the visor still looks great and is holding up just fine.

Dark Iridium Blue
Does exactly what you'd expect in a replacement face-shield. I have the deep blue iridium color and it is indeed very dark. You cannot see through the mirror coat at all, which is very nice. When riding in daylight, the sun is definitely no longer a pain if you choose one of the colors designed to lessen brightness.
Riding at night with a dark face shield is obviously not recommended, so there's the downside if you order one of the darker ones but I am very happy with the dark blue.
My only complaint is the care of the fancier mirrored ones. My blue shield gets finger prints and scratches very easily. When trying to clean it up, unless you have just the right type of cloth you mostly just smear stuff around on it. Once you figure out a good cleaning option its smooth-sailing.

Just a face shield but I love it
I bought this with my recently purchased Bell Vortex from this same site. Changing face shields is a breeze with the quick change system Bell has. I was worried about how clear the vision would be through the face shield but after installing it my concerns were turned to joy. People can't see in but I can see perfectly and it helps with those sunny riding days which was my main concern. I suppose i could just wear sunglasses but I don't really care to at the moment. I would recommend this product if you have any of the helmets that it's compatible with.

Great shield for use on the Bell RS-1. A bit dark for night riding obviously, but the quick release system is a great invention and it looks tough as on a matt black helmet.

Does what it is suppose to do.
Perfect for daylight riding. Fits on my RS-1 with ease. That being said, I didn't really care for it in night riding in the city. It can be done but I wouldn't recommend it as it makes things very dark. I sometimes find myself riding in the day loving it but when I get home from work it is dark out and I didn't brink my clear shield, so I use this and it is very dark for night riding.

I had forgotten what scratch-free visor looks like.
It's all about Bell's excellent visor attachment system. It's pretty much fool proof.
FYI, the Revolver does not support this visor's feature for locking in various positions, but you already knew that already, right?
