Bell RS-1 Emblem Hi Viz Helmet
Great helmet, flows a good amount of air in and I love the magnet on the straps and the tinted visor. Fits like a race helmet, meaning it's snug on the cheeks but I like that it keeps it in place at high speeds. I love the wind visor very good quality. I've had this helmet for over 6 months and I can really complain about it at all.

Great product; love Bell. Great fit, style, and weight. Air flow could be improved.
Found this helmet searching for an upper/mid class. Color scheme was exactly what I wanted, and that's what originally got my attention. After trying it on at the GP, I knew it was the one for me, but I waited to buy it because I always shop ZLA! After wearing it around town and on the freeway, I'd say the helmet deserves a solid 9/10. Only downside, the front air ducts breathe well; however, the chimney vents don't make a huge difference. I feel the channels in the shell aren't deep enough to properly circulate the air; otherwise I would say it's a definite 10/10.

As a new rider this was my first helmet.
Fit: Perfect for an intermediate oval, which I read is a good majority of the people out there. More manufacturers are building intermediate oval helmets lately.
Noise: Since this is my first helmet I cant really compare helmets that I've used on the road in terms of noise. I can say that about 50 mph is my limit w/o ear plugs.
Visibility: I've used the stock shield and it is pretty clear. Though at stops I can tell there's moisture building up inside the visor. Cracking it open or moving takes that all away though. I've already ordered the transitions shield and hope that works well.
Ventilation: See some notes above. With all vents open this thing flows air throughout the helmet and aids with clearing up the visor coming from a stop.

Perfect helmet for me
After trying some other brands, I went back to Bell because their internal shape fits me well. My RS-1 was slightly tight side to side in the front, but now that it's broken in it is perfect. It's snug, but that's a good thing. Thanks to the bottom opening being a bit tighter than other helmets the wind noise is much lessened, although it's pretty tight getting it on and especially off.
I think this is the quietest helmet I've ever owned. The side-lever venting system works great once you learn it - lock it (lever to the rear) with the visor up, then you have two clicks forward for degrees of venting. Simply manually raising the visor works well, too, the detents at many degrees of openness hold well in wind but are not too stiff to manipulate easily.
I splurged a bit and bought the Transitions photochromatic visor, and it is very much worth the money. Speaking of which, visor changes are simple and easy, yet I haven't had a visor come unfastened unintentionally.

A new Bell convert
I was planning to go from my HJC to a Shoei RF1200 for a better helmet and better fit for my inter/oval head. Liked the Shoei features and graphics, but the M fit slightly too snug in front and the L was way too big. Found that the Bell RS-1 fit slightly smaller, was very comparable and had head shape that I need. One of my Ducati buds who does track days switched to an RS-1 after several Shoeis and recommended it as just as good but more cost effective. (my ride is a Duc Monster 1100evo as a point of reference for wind/boy position). My 58.5cm head measurement was in the zone for the Bell size L but just over the top of the range on the Shoei M and just below the L range (check the Revzilla measurements on each brand). This helmet is a perfect fit for me. Snug race fit is great too, so don't be concerned about that. Wide vision, quieter than my old one but still need plugs for higher speeds, and venting is good. Got the Transitions shield which works well. Overall very happy.
