No more squishy cheeks Made a Great helmet even better feels custom made. As the title says "no more squishy cheeks". April 29, 2014
my opinion of this product The fit was perfect, my helmet came a little to tight and i was always biting my cheeks. Well worth the money. December 19, 2013
Saved my helmet choice! I've always had to compromise in helmet selection. The crown of my head is a Lg, but around my cheeks and jaw I'm more like an XL or even XXL. In the past, I was adding padding above the liner to snug the fit of a helmet that was really too big. Bell changed my life by offering various size cheek pads! I pulled the pads out to find the right size for the top of my head, but noted that the cheek pads were way too tight when installed. I looked at the pad size, and used Bell's chart to select the thinnest option. Magic! I wish Bell did two things: Detail what pads come installed in each helmet in the catalog, and offer one or two more thinner selections. I am using the 30mm pads, but could easily go to 25mm, if offered. My helmet is the RS-1 RSD Flash Bronze special edition. It has a dark grey interior, however the replacements are light grey October 4, 2013
Very Happy My head size was on the XL side of Large vs Extra Large size chart. I decided to go with the extra large and it fit perfectly in the top of my head but the stock cheek pads were to lose on my face. These extra larges defiantly helped the size of my helmet! September 9, 2013
Adjust your helmet Adjust your helmet for a perfect fit. Great that Bell provides these. Fabulous! August 19, 2013
Exactly what I needed! Did the trick for me! Just needed a slightly thinner cheek pad for that perfect fit. They are another premium bell product for sure. Anyone that buys a bell helmet should be happy to know they can make their helmet custom fit to their exact needs. Revzilla is the best and most knowledgable site out there! Thanks for all the info! Almost perfect Bought these in a 2X to replace the cheek pads in my medium Bell helmet because the stock pads pushed in too much on my cheeks. They fit almost perfect, snapped right in. Very comfortable. Shipping was insanely fast, Revzilla has made a lifelong customer out of me. May 1, 2013
helped quiet my Bell When I bought my Bell RS1, I bought at a store where I could try it on. I bought a large, even though a medium fit, because it was more comfortable, and the med. felt too snug. In retrospect, large was too loud because there were gaps in the padding. Purchasing these $20 replacement pads in the med size, I was able to change my helmet size back to a med, literally! Bell uses the same shell for both. Check the charts and tune your fit. December 24, 2012

RevZilla Store asked: Why did you choose this?
KENNETH B: Size M was tight and stayed tight. Bought this for a little more cheek room. May 3, 2014
Earl W: Bought several sets, 2 sets for both helmets as not interchangeable with diff. Sized helmets. They work and do make for custom fit...also com. Speakers fit nicely. Mar 18, 2014
Eric B: I had a Bell Star helmet b4 this one (I love Bells) and I found that wearing a balaclava stretched out the stock pads during the colder months. An additional set of pads allows me to keep the helmet fitting nice and snug when the warmer months roll around again and I start wearing my helmet w/o the balaclava. Dec 26, 2013
David R: my face was a bit squished with the stock pads Dec 16, 2013
Audley B: Stock 40mm pads are too tight for my round face. Oct 21, 2013
Robert L: I have fat cheeks... needed this to thin out the interior of my helmet... made for a PERFECT fitting helmet Sep 4, 2013
A shopper asked: Hello I purchased a RS1, medium size a month ago and it fits me nice and snug, a little too snug, not intolerable but I wish it could fit me a little less snug, I thought it was going to break in more and not fit so snug but after a month it still fits like new, I should have ordered a large, that would of been perfect. The helmet itself is great, highly recommended.

Anyways my question is, would replacing the cheekpads from a smaller helmet size make my helmet fit better?? or less snug on the cheeks??

Thank you.

Makeo: If the helmet is very snug on the crown of your head (the top) then new cheek pads would not do much. But if the helmet feels tight on the face then new cheek pads will help a lot. Try taking your cheek pads out and put the helmet on, if it is still very snug on the top then you might of needed to go up one size. If it feels fine then new cheek pads should fix your problem. JBinTX: I had the same problem with my new Revolver. I contacted the manufacturer and they got me a narrower set of pads. I have a medium helment and had to ask a lot of questions before I got them to send me a narrrower set from the the large helmet. I don't know why they don't list all pads for all helmet sizes, but they didn't. I found them to be helpful and nice. I additionally modified the pads by cutting through the plastic on the back and pulling out some foam so my glasses would slid in. If you don't like what you have, experiment. Jan 16, 2012

karlInSanDiego: It's a little counterintuitive, but makes sense if you think of it. A larger pad (in mm) is thicker, and therefore MORE snug. Bell's charts show the stock pad sizes and they confirm this. So buy thinner pads to give you more room. And watch the charts for which sizes share the same shells, in order to understand how the intermediate pad sizes could get you that perfect fit in between. A tight helmet will usually break in to fit comfortably, in a fews weeks of daily use (street) Dec 24, 2012

DucNut: Bell sells cheekpads that are 5mm thinner than what comes standard in the RS-1. So you pick up 1cm in additional room cheek to cheek. At $15 for a pair you can't go wrong. Oct 16, 2012

Stevan P: You could also try the soft cheekpads instead of the firm. Might help keep it safe but not as tight. Oct 21, 2011
