Devin O: Dont have to worry about using sunglasses, which can be cramped inside a helmet.Mar 30, 2015
Eric M: heard the smokey shield may distort?Feb 17, 2015
Ned N: I usually wear sunglasses when I ride so needed clear lens when I get caught in the rain, and If I get caught out after dark without my clear sunglasses.Dec 21, 2014
Christopher W: additional piece in case scratch or loose the originalNov 13, 2014
Brian K: I got the clear shield figuring it would be more useful than the tinted one since I always wear sunglasses during the day. In the event my ride unexpectedly takes me into the evening and I am without my clear glasses, it is nice to have the clear shield as a back up.Sep 15, 2014
Efstratios Z: needed clear shield for night ridingSep 9, 2014
Sergio K: Practicality and simultaneous use of prescription glassesAug 7, 2014
Matthew J: My helmet came with the tinted shield. On cloudy days or if the light is low, my older eyes could not see adequately to avoid potholes, debris, etc. this shield allows me the proper wind & eye protection while providing maximum visibility.Jul 25, 2014
MetalBird:Mine and my wife's (the two tone checker and pink pinstripe bought April 2013) came with the Dark Smoke drop down shield. Ordered two of these Clear shields to go along with it for if we do any distance night riding and do not want the tint.Apr 29, 2013
A shopper asked:Do you have the clear lens non polarized? I do have a clear lens now I have some distortion. I wear polarize sun glasses to look though both polarize lenses the distortion is worse. Do you have a clear and non polarize lens????Aug 1, 2014
Richard P:Yes I do have the Pit Boss Clear Inner Shield, but have never opened the package and used it. I found that the smoke one is not too dark and have been using it over my Polarized sunglasses. The clear one travels with me in case I do ride after dark, which I avoid. To answer your question I opened up the package and went outside wearing my Polarized sunglasses, and you are correct to presume, the clear shield DOES affect the vision while wearing Polarized lenses. Then I tried my regular glasses, and the vision was perfectly clear. So if I do ride after dark, the clear shield with my clear glasses will be fine. But during the day, Polarized sunglasses on a bright sunny day, or otherwise clear glasses with my dark shield. Hope this helps. Pochy On another note, I have found that with the Shield down on the Pit Boss helmet wind is deflected away from between the ear pads and makes for an even quieter ride!Aug 1, 2014
Dan H:Yes, clear non polarized. I thought they only make a dark smoke and clear non-polarized shield. There is some rainbow effect when looking through with polarized sunglasses. I have this will all my helmets. The clear shield is great for night riding.Aug 1, 2014
Jeffrey S:I have used both. Currently use the clear, but only drop it down if it's raining in order to help protect my face(eyes). Other wise I just rely on my prescription glasses, which are polarized and have the "transition" lenses.Aug 1, 2014
Peter V:The smoke shield is a little too dark for night riding and I also ordered the clear shield. During the day I'm wearing sunglasses and if it rains I would probably prefer the clear shield anyway. The smoke shield does block the UV nicely though I have to admit. For the price I paid for the Pit Boss Carbon Comp it should come with both flavors.Jul 28, 2014
