From the first time you put the Pit Boss helmet on, you can feel the difference. The ultra-light TriMatrix construction keeps weight to a minimum while still passing tough DOT standards. The Pit Boss also features Bell’s innovative Speed Dial adjustable fit system which provides unmatched levels of comfort while drastically reducing the tendency for open face helmets to lift off of the head. And with additional features like a removable neck curtain and drop down sunshield, the Pit Boss truly reigns supreme on the wide open road.

Great Helmet but...
This is a great helmet but not sure that it warrants the extra money.
Yes it is lighter but not a lot - basically you pay a hundred bucks more for 100g less in weight. Also not sure where the carbon is as the exterior carbon fibre look scratches off to reveal a white under layer. Unfortunately it scratches rather easily too. (I'm sure that it is made of carbon fibre - just that it's not on the outside)
Inbuilt visor is great but tends to come unclipped at one end if you are rough or over energetic pulling it down.
Basically a great helmet but would go for the standard model and save $100.

Great features with a couple of issues.
This helmet is every thing as advertised ie; light weight with some added features. I also own a Bell Mag 9 helmet that I really like for comparison. The helmet is advertised as XL/XXL with an adjuster to tighten the helmet for smaller heads. It is actually smaller than my Mag 9 XL and I removed the adjuster with no change in fit. It would probably not fit a XXL head. The drop down shield will not work with eyeglasses. The same shield on the Mag 9 works perfectly with eyeglasses. It is extremely light however with no airflow internally it is also hot to wear.

Just what I was looking for!!
Having tried numerous half helmets with no satisfaction I was excited to open my Revzilla box and try out my new Bell carbon helmet.
It is by far the most comfortable helmet I have had. Very comfortable fit, and light! Outstanding quality.
If I had to wish for one thing it would be for a vent to cool the top of your head....otherwise it's a great helmet. Highly recommend!

Ned N: Looked for a helmet with an internal shield that fit my fat head. After a small break-in period, fits nicely.Dec 21, 2014
David C: A friend bought one of these from you and I really like the Helmet. I have been riding with an illegal jockey helmet for 10 years, it's time to get legal.Dec 20, 2014

A S: I saw the helmet on a rider and had asked him how he liked it, He raved about it and allowed me to try his on . It was such a great fit and with the adjustable ability I really liked it. I would only suggest that bell say how large the helmet will adjust. I used the fitting chart and am near the end of the large spectrum. Hope this will work but the Bell name is solid.Jun 9, 2014

A shopper asked:What is the difference in weight from the standard Pit Boss helmet from the Carbon Pit Boss helmet.?Jun 8, 2014
A shopper asked:The description indicates there is an internal sun shade to provide on the fly protection from the sun, but in the video the drop down shield seems to be clear. Is it clear or tinted?Jun 30, 2014
Peter W:Apparently 900 grams however this is the same indicated weight as the non carbon versions so I am not really sure. However having tried both the carbon and non carbon version it is very hard to feel the weight difference so I'm not convinced that the price premium is worth it for the carbon version
I would also note that they all scratch relatively easily so you do need to be careful how you handle them.
They are a great helmet however especially like the adjustability via the knob at the back - its a great feature. Minimal lift at 70mph though is noisy at that speed.
