Bell Mag-9 Sena SMH-10 Bluetooth Headset 4.1 5 19 19
Great buy... No Bass... I bought this headset to go along with my new BELL DLX helmet. The shipping was fast. Got it within 2 days of purchasing. I didn't have to to buy anything else to attach it to my helmet. Everything came in the kit. Installation took about... 5-10 minutes.. Very easy to install... I took these out immediately after it was charged and I was a little worried I wouldn't be able to hear it since my bike is extremely loud. 2006 600rr with a two brothers exhaust. I rode around and was pleasantly surprised. I could hear my music very clearly and it sounded great aside from the fact that u dont get any bass at all... But honestly thats totally fine with me. I connected this headset to my phone and with a simple button press it connects me to google now and I can ask what time it is or ask to navigate me somewhere. The voice recognition is spot in and the controls are easy to understand. A++ would def recommend this! November 16, 2015
Not different from any other Sena product. The controls aren't intuitive, every spring I have to pull out the manual to figure it out again. the mic boom isn't long enough so even with the windshield on my full dress bike there are problems if I'm not talking full volume. September 22, 2015
I'm happy with it. Helmet: Bell Qualifier DLX Ride: 2015 HD Street Bob no windshield/fairing. I have been pleasantly surprised by this unit. Installation wasn't as easy as I thought it would be as I couldn't get it quite lined up, but that was user error. Pairing with my phone was very easy. Controls on this unit are very easy. My primary use is for music. When using GPS and music from my phone the volume of the music will turn down during turn by turn directions. Sound quality for music is pretty good. I wish it had more bass tones. Volume is better than I expected. At higher speeds the volume can still be turned up to overcome wind noise but is deafening at highway speeds. Overall I'm happy with this product. I have not tried any sort of intercom function. August 26, 2015
Perfect fit I looked at this product for a long time. I use it for my phone and it works flawlessly. Setup was easy and the fit to the Bell Mag 9 helmet is outstanding. The phone conversations are clear even with hearing loss in one ear. I still use my audio through the speakers because my Street Glide boom box audio will not sync. This isn't because of the Sena unit it's a known issue with Harley's Audio system. May 4, 2015
Great product Great product. It does what I want it to. The only issue I have is with the poor bass response. May 26, 2014
Easy to install, Great to use. Excellent product. Easy to install and use. Good sound. Great product overall. April 7, 2014
Broke one of the ear pads while try to take out the pads. paired with my iphone 4s, the phone will ring, but you can't answer a callby tapping the but What i have is a very expensive com system that only half works, and can't find anyone to help . April 7, 2014
Adequate but still lacking I used this system for about a month...so no long term stuff here. 1. Sound quality is good for what it is. The difficulty though is proper placement of the speakers. In the Bell Mag 9 helmet, the speaker pockets allow the speakers to move around too much causing a necessary repositioning almost every time you put the helmet on. I added some velcro to help. The speakers have ONE optimal position that is different for every wearer. I never found that position...well not exactly true...I got close and could lift my shoulders to lift the helmet and it was perfect. But I never could get them in the proper place. 2. At interstate speed, with earplugs, there's little use for this as a music listening device or communication system. 3. integration with other Sena SMH 10 was fine once we figured it out. It was nice being able to one push intercom with the other driver, and two push intercom with his passenger. Either could do the same with me. 4. Range was fine as far as we needed. Good product for occasional use, especially rider to passenger. After my wreck and helmet decommissioning, I will not replace the Sena SMH 10 though. It's just not quite good enough for my needs. RevZilla Store asked: Why did you choose this?
Randy G: Just happened to be in a local Vespa dealer in Indiana and ran across A bell Helmet display. I had been looking at blue tooth head sets and the Sena came highly recommended. When I tried the helmet on is was very comfortable and looked cool as well. Then I noticed it was set up for the Sena head set and I had to have it. Came home and ordered from my favorite place. Cant wait to get it. If it works out the way I hope I will order another setup for my wife. Oct 1, 2015
Michael R: Wanted a system to allow communication, went for it in conjunction with Sena 9 helmet. Not happy with either..... Helmet fits small, Sena sound quality very poor. Sep 2, 2015
Richard L: I choose this product as the reviews were outstanding and it fits seamlessly into the Bell Mag 9 helmet that I purchased. Jul 29, 2015

John D: This will easily mate with the Bell Mag-9 Sena Rally Helmet I have. I will use it to listen to music, and make calls, from my Samsung Galaxy S3 phone. I will also use it to communicate with my son when we are riding motorcycles together. Reviews have been good, and I have a friend that uses a SHM-10 and is pleased with it. Feb 6, 2014

Mario K: I'm not sure if separately they also work, but buying the Bell Mag-9 adapter kit and the standard SHM-10 separately, saves you just shy of $10. Not sure why that's the case. Nov 24, 2015

Jerome R: Not sure why the price difference, but if you have the Bell Mag 9 helmet like I do you'll want to buy the Bell Mag-9 Sena SMH-10 Bluetooth Headset for $159.95. It's shown on the same page as the helmet. That's what I have and it's specifically made to fit in the helmet and it's a perfect fit. Dec 10, 2013

Tao-Lin C: The more expensive one is fitted with this bell helmet, the other one is for my shoei helmet and can not fit bell mag 9
I am not sure whether gen purpose plus bell fitting plate will do for bell mag helmet, if working it will be cheaper this way

A shopper asked: I bought this for my Bell Mag 9 helmet and I'm very happy with it.. What accessory do I need to use it on another helmet? I will like to share it with a full face one. Nov 14, 2015

A shopper asked: IS this a voice activated system? Aug 22, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (1)
Marc B: Yes, it is voice activated for Cell Phone and Intercom activities. It's good, but very complex in operation - read the user's manual before buying: its online but this system won't let me post the address - google it or have this company post it for you. It's extremely capable, but 2 controls to do 30 functions speaks for itself. It also knows some voice commands.

Also - the volume in the helmet is dismal - you can barely recognize melodies of familiar songs. It needs more amplification or better speakers.

Two companies have patents on the 1,000M Bluetooth for bike-to-bike intercom, Sena is one, the other may be better. The Sena tech is good, quality good, the Bell is a fav helmet, but I've removed the clear shield - blocks cooling (I live in NM), try before buying, please. Good luck, Marc - 2013 BMW R1200RT.

Yvonne V: Yes, it is voice activated. However I have found it easier to use the jog dial to operate the various functions of the headset while traveling at speed with the Bell Mag 9 helmet on due to wind noise.

You probably wouldn't have that issue on a full face helmet, but the Mag 9 does allow enough wind interference to mess with the voice prompts on the voice activation. Of course that all depends on what you're riding and how fast you're going. Typically I'm going 70mph on a chopper. If you're riding something with a fairing, wind noise may be a non issue to you.

Nichole L: No it is not, as far as I can tell you have to push a button to do anything. If you have Siri or an equivilant then just push a button and tell her hat to do. Sorry the answer isn't too definitive I haven't used mine that much to know all of the nuances. Aug 23, 2013

Ray H: Yes, this is a voice activated system. You can choose to turn the VOC feature on or off for different application such as the phone or the intercom system activation. Aug 24, 2013

Daniel G: It does have VOX capabilities. You can also turn off and use push to talk (you bump main jog dial in). Aug 24, 2013
