I've ridden with a half helmet for thousands of miles and I wish I had bought this one before. No itchy head, no pressure on the temples, just a light solid fit. I normally can't wait to pull off my helmet at gas or restroom stops, but this one goes with me for those short stops. Highly recommend this retro-look helmet for those desiring a minimalist, but DOT-approved "skid lid."

I used to have a cruiser before my striple and I had another Bell full face helmet. I wanted the feel of the wind in my face with some kind of protection so I bought the Drifter. I got this on sale, so it was hard to pass up.
It looks awesome, but it looked weird on my head. I have a narrow oval shaped head and it just looked weird on me. I've seen others rock it though, so I can't knock it on aesthetics. It just didn't fit my head right. I only wore it a couple of times before deciding that protecting my face was more important than a good looking helmet. You can't compare it to the safety of a full face helmet, but I suppose some protection is better than none at all.
It was comfortable, though I always felt like it was sitting on top of my head like a bicycle helmet would. At speed, the wind would pull on it (like a parachute), putting a real strain on my neck to keep my head forward. It has good looks for the cruiser crowd and inexpensive. Like the description says, "If ya gotta go DOT, might as well do it with some attitude."
