Bazzaz Z-Fi Fuel Controller Honda CBR 600 RR

An engine's power is dependent on how well the air / fuel mixture is ignited in the cylinder. Air / fuel ratio (AFR) is controlled by the engine control unit (ECU). Bazzaz fuel controllers piggy back onto the Engine Control Unit (ECU), intercepting the signal sent to the fuel injectors and changing it. The precise data for these changes are stored in the Z-Fi Fuel Controller in the form of a fuel map. The Z-Fi comes pre-programmed with an enhanced fuel map for power gains and improved throttle response. With a proper fuel map the rider can expect a smoother and more responsive throttle along with horsepower and torque gains.

Motorcycles with any modifications (such as exhaust or high-flow filters) must have fuel tuned to accommodate the change in air to the AFR.

  • Bazzaz Z-Mapper software makes it easy to view and easily adjust fuel maps
  • Load and save fuel maps that are downloaded, manually edited, created on a dyno, or made with the Z-AFM air / fuel self mapper
  • Switch fuel maps on the fly with the handlebar-mounted Bazzaz Z-Fi Fuel Map Switch
  • Made in USA

A shopper asked: I have a K&N Air Filter and Akra Slip On. Would I benefit from this product or not really? Will I loose MPG? Jun 30, 2014

Bill W: You will get better throttle response and probably ~5+HP gain with K&N/slip-on/Bazzaz. I purchased the standalone fuel controller and I did notice a difference. I have found that there are not many mapping options(uploads) from other users for my bike anyway, so to get total benefit you will need the AFM unit as well. Dyno tuning does not help that much as you are not in a "real world" application. Check the Bazzaz website for user uploads to see if anyone has uploaded a custom map before purchase. Jun 30, 2014

souhaib b: Hi buddy yes you will benefit from it especially if you do a costum map
On any dyno shop next to you
About mpg depent of your air fuel ration if its 12- 12-5 original
You will gain mgp
If its 13.5 to 14 you will loose a bit cz best air fuel ration is 13 to 1 or 13.2 to 1
But you tell the guy who is makin the map for you to make it leaner below
I mean in low rpm in this case you eill gain mgp let him make it 14/1 and over 8000 rpm 13.2 and up

Michael J: I have the same combo as you on my 2014 ZX636 and from what I understanding when upgrading the air filter and adding a slip-on it is highly recommended to adjust the fuel / air mixture or you could run dangerously rich or lean causing damage to your bike.

Will your MPG suffer? I'm not entirely sure, I can't say that I noticed a big difference there but I can tell you that the Bazzaz ZFi made my bike more responsive, smoother shifting somehow and I have no regrets buying and installing on my bike. It made a noticeable difference performance wise on my bike. I downloaded the "Enhanced" map directly from Bazzaz specific for my bike and it runs beautifully. I hope this helps you, Good Luck with your upgrades!

damien h: you really need to upgrade to aftermarket headers to remove the cat from the system and get a custom dyno tune to optimise the A/F ratios for your engine I have a late model Hayabusa and got over 20HP gains with full exhaust upgrade / Bazzaz Z FI and dyno Jun 30, 2014
