Decent, no more, no less
I purchased this exhaust (black with no heat shields) for a 2012 Sportster 48. Mounting wasn't too hard. System looks great. DO NOT use buy this exhaust if you plan to run the stock intake. If you look at the photos you can see the pipe from the front jug sits way to close to the intake. It will melt the stock intake.

Love the Radial Sweepers
This exhaust sounds excellent. Not so loud that your ears hurt going down the road, but not too quiet either. I now have a bike that actually sounds like a Harley should sound. But as much as I love the sound, I love the look even more. Really sharp lines make my Iron 883 look mean!

Unbelievable sound and performance. So much better than short shots which have been played out
The best sounding pipes for a harely. Running no baffles and love it!

I have VH short shots currently and I love the sound but not the factory long pipe look. I wanted something simple and loud for my Harley 72. I don't think you can get the pipes to be much shorter than these unless you have someone custom fabricate a set.

Would these still work with passenger pegs attached?
A shopper on Jun 16, 2016
BEST ANSWER: No they will not. Unless you make a special bracket.
I own a iron 883 2014 model. I have arlen ness big sucker stage 2 air cleaner with me which I'll install after I install aftermarket pipes. I really like the bassani radial sweepers - but I want to know if there are any tuners with presets available for this set of exhausts. Can anyone guide me here please?
A shopper on Dec 1, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I'm having a really hard time finding a tuner with a canned map for that particular set up. It looks like the fp3 has an autotune feature that will get it really close, but i can't find any reviews that guarantee it.

I have the same bike with the same pipes and I am interested in getting the stage 1 big sucker, so if anyone knows for sure then it would help us both.

Hey Revzilla,

I wanted to buy a Vance and hines or bassani exhaust for my 2014 Harley 48 and on your site it says it is compatible but when I was at the Harley dealership all the workers in the parts department said that those exhaust don't fit 2014 models of the 48 because of the catalytic converter? Could you please clarify, any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

BEST ANSWER: I owned a 2014 883n and installed the Bassani system on it myself then had the dealer remap the ignition system at the 1,000 mile service . I had no problems and they mentioned no problems concerning the mod . I would guess other than the obvious that there is no difference with your "48" . It may be in relation to your states emission laws rather than any real fitment problem . My only complaint is that it does away with stock passenger pegs . I have since traded the bike on a FXDB (which I installed V.H. units on with no con verters either) . I think the will work . Those radically improve the look and sound of a Sportster I don't think you'll regret buying them .
