Barkbusters Storm S7 Single Sided Handguard Mount Kit 6/8mm Threaded End Inserts Videos

Barkbusters Storm S7 Single Sided Handguard Mount Kit 6/8mm Threaded End Inserts

Barkbusters handguards were first manufactured in 1984 and now have over 28 years of motorcycle industry experience and riding enthusiasm. That history means Barkbusters has what it takes to produce the finest handguards available on the market today. In the unlikely event that you break a part of the handguard, every piece is replaceable.

Fits tubular handlebars with 6mm or 8mm threaded bar-end inserts using a single-sided mounting kit.

Good for moderately cold days.
Keeps wind off your hands. Easy to install, fit is good.

1. Look at the diagram to install. Fairly idiot proof.
2. Use the proper tools, please.
3. Depending on one's bike, one may have to drill and tap some threads. (A 2012 Triumph Street Triple needs a 6M drill and tap).
4. Provides good wind protection.
5. Not a substitute for very cold days (< 30F), but certainly helpful. One should still invest in some good gloves.

Easy to install, look good on FZ-09
I purchased these for a yellow FZ-09, after doing a lot of online research I decided on these based on looks, price and mounting system.

They were easy to install with the adapters for Yamaha's purchased separately.
I like the bar end only single point mounting as I don't have enough room for clamps further in on the handlebars.
This mounting system also gives a cleaner look.

I have the Puig touring windscreen installed and the handguards match up nicely and add to the look of the bike.

I can't comment on performance yet because it's winter in MN so I have not had the chance to evaluate them on the road.

1985 K100 with bar end mirrors
Had to bore out the mount holes to match the mirror mounts. The fairing style was an option back then with directionals, the guards fit perfectly and are exactly what I've been searching for.

Easy Installation.
The Barkbusters Storm guards were a great fit and easy to install on my BMW R1150R. I was able to use the factory handlebar weights with the supplied long 8mm bolts. I did have to shorten the bolts by approximately 1/4 inch. Overall they installed easy, look good and keep my hands warmer on cold morning commutes to work.

Product as advertised
Found this product to be as advertised. easy to install, looks good on the bike. Only been able to try out function a couple of times since install, but works well at keeping wind (temps in 30's) off hands. Also seems to be solid install with no vibration even with one point of connection to handle bars. Yes, I would recommend these hand guards.

A good value
These guards mount only to the handlebar ends, necessitated by the nature of some handlebars as those on my Honda Hawk NT 650. As such I would consider them adequate. However, I was able to fabricate brackets that tie the guard brackets to a windscreen brackets that comes off of the top fork bridge. The result is that the guards are rock solid and thoroughly satisfying. Similar options will be different from one bike to another, but otherwise limited only by your creativity.

Wind Chill Busters
With temperatures dropping down into the low 40's and upper 30's I needed something to stop the wind chill during my 100 mile/day commute. My hands and, especially fingers, would become frozen even with good winter gloves. This seems to have done the trick with one downside... I can't see out of my mirrors! They completely block rearview vision on my 2011 Ninja 1000. But I'll add some extensions soon and hope for the best. Installation was easy after heating up the factory thread lock on the bolt to my bar end wights. These hand guards are well made and block the wind nicely.

Ordered these guards since they only require mounting on the bar ends. Not much real estate on my CB300F bars!

Cool. Install a breeze and they look good with my Puig II touring screen.

Because of the style of handlebars, needed a universal fit to bar ends and units look study and sleek.

Would this fit a 2015 Honda CBR300RA?
this is a "universal" model I get by selecting my bike, but I'd love to know if anyone with the same bike used this.
thx

BEST ANSWER: The storm guards attach at the end of the handlebars only, with 6 or 8mm bolts that are provided, plus an assortment of spacers... Check the ends of your handlebars to see if they have 6 or 8mm threads, if they do there is a good chance these storm guards will work. You may need to remove handlebar end weights and reinstall with longer bolts that go through the storm guard mounting bracket.
Will these fit an FZ 07 if the specific mounting kit is also purchased. Will I need to make additional modification the the handle bar or move handle bar mounted features such as switches, controls or brake master cylinder?
A S on May 22, 2015
BEST ANSWER: It may not help at all. On my F650GS / Twin, I had to loosen the support of the front brake fluid deposit, to get the system installed. Not much work and easy to do.
I have a 2012 BMW R1200R. Will Storm S1 option C fit this ??
A shopper on Mar 19, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I installed these on a 2000 R1100R using the "C" layout and the installation came out nice. Clearance and look is good. Only have had one ride with them on since install (winter just won't quit here in the North East) and they seem to work well. Looking at a parts breakdown for the 2012 R1200, it appears that the bar ends are similar if not the same.
Will this single sided mount kit with 6/8mm threaded inserts fit my 2015 Yamaha FJR1300. If it does fit will the handguards hit my gas tank when I turn my handlebars all the way?
