Arai XD-4 / XD-3 Pinlock Lens Insert
Installed Correctly, It works Perfectly
I hesitated to buy the pinlock lens/visor for my XD4 due to the reviews here on ZLA, and the specific warning from Revzilla on the page for the pinlock, but tried it anyway as I noticed a few guys with GS's managed to make it work.
I was ready to modify the lens with a Dremel if needed, but thankfully, it just needed to be installed correctly.
Maybe Arai moved the eccentric adjusters back a bit, but the adjusters on my visor have enough range to accommodate the pinlock lens just fine.
I had to install it twice before I got a proper fit, and even then had to push it up a bit to make the gasket seal all the way around. I then fine tuned where the lens touched the visor with the eccentric adjusters. Now it doesn't touch.
I've tested it down to 25F and it's fantastic. I got the yellow tinted one, and it makes grey days POP! Everything looks so bright and nice. When I open the visor, it looks depressing and ugly out there!
My only gripe is the pinlock lens rubs the top of the XD4's visor seal when I open the visor. We'll see how long that lasts...
Either way, considering how effective it is at eliminating (not reducing) fog inside the visor, it's completely worth it.

poor fitting pin lock
The shield fits the helmet fine and it is a quality clear shield. However the pin lock inner is a poor fit very hard to get it to form to the shield. I still have a air gap because it just cannot quiet conform to the shields shape. I have used pin locks with my other helmets without any issues and really like the fit. I had read that others have similar issues with the XD4// pin lock so I guess I am not too surprised. Consider it a 90 dollar experiment. Oh well I still have a good clear shield so not all is lost.

Eliminates fogging on Arai XD4 helmet
Does it's job once you fit it properly. The insert does not fit the shield as shipped. Even with shield pins adjusted to furthest outside cam position the insert was too big. Problem solved by taking a dremel tool cutting blade the same diameter of the pin lock insert slots and elongating the slots by about 1mm on each side. Insert installed fine after this and the cams on the shield pins could be adjusted inwards again to produce a snug fit. Insert sealed 100% around the perimeter which you can tell by the "jelly" gasket making contact as viewed from the outside of the lens.

Pinlock on Aria XD-4 helmet
Purchased this for my new Arai XD-4 helmet though the warning from Rev Zilla was that the Pin Lock Lens insert did not work so well for the XD-4 . When I installed it into the new clear shield that I purchased along with the Pin Lock lens I had to play with the plastic adjustment screws to get the Pin Lock Lens to seal to the inside of the face shield. I have let it set for several weeks now hoping it would conform to the face shield. Also when I flip the face shield up, on the inside the Pin Lock shield rubs against the upper rubber seal of the helmet above the eye brow. So waiting to see if that eventually damages the Pin Lock as in hot weather I ride with the face shield flipped completely up.

This is great. Works as intended. No fogging at all. My negative comment is that a high end helmet like the xd4 should come with this out of the box. Without the pinlock you have a $600+ helmet that absolutely will fog.

Arai XD-4 Pinlock visor
Having the option of having a tinted visor that's interchangeable is very helpful. I currently have the light smoke insert and it provides just enought blockage when I ride into the sun on my morning commute. Very easy to install. Make sure to read the instructions that come from Pinlock.

Amber Insert Fog Killer
I recently installed a pinlock shield and this insert on my XD3.
Wow, fog, rain vision is much improved.
Should have invested sooner!

Great, but tricky to get installed right
Took me some effort to get it to seal correctly. Was too tight of a fit causing it to not seal correctly. I ended up 'extending' the groove where it seats with the pins of the shield. Once fitted right, it works like a charm. I can finally ride in cold weather without worry of fog! VERY HAPPY!
