Is what it is
It's a shield. Tinted, in fact. Works exactly like it should-- easy to see through, cuts daylight, vents work, and fits the XD4 like it's made to....which it is. I'd buy another if I needed to.

Tinting is just right even up to dusk. Factory fit

Have you ever wanted a shield that was like wearing sunglasses, but you don't want to wear sunglasses. BAM! Quick and simple install. Looks rad to boot.

Good Sun Protection, But Fogs Up
I ordered this shield in dark smoke to use as my primary, daytime shield. It fits well, and installs as easy as a shield can on the XD4 (4 screws, two side plates and a peak). The darkness is perfect for daytime, but too dark for dusk, so bring a clear one if you might get stuck out after dark. The only issue with the screen is the fog. It is not just this screen, it is all non-pinlock shields on the XD4. So, if fogging up may be an issue, I suggest buying the pinlock version.

Exactly as advertised
This is just a face shield, but it's exactly what you expect. It fits and it's flawless

WARNING: OPTICAL DISTORTION VERIFIED BY ARAI
I'm a new owner of an XD-4 Explore Black and a long time Arai customer (they're the only helmets I buy). I have had the Dark Smoke Face Shield on both RX-Qs I've owned and they've been excellent. I figured I would do the same with my new XD-4. Installed the face shield last week and went for a quick, two-hour ride and immediately noticed a significant (for me) amount of visual distortion. I have better than 20/20 vision so perhaps my eyes are a bit more sensitive but, nonetheless, facing all directions, things looked strangely out of focus, enough to for me to question my ability to see and respond to the road. I spent the rest of the ride with the face shield up.
Hoping it was a fluke, I went out again yesterday with the dark smoke face shield, only to experience the same distortion. Ended up with the face shield up the whole time on the bike.
I called Revzilla and Mick was super helpful, sending me an email with the phone number for Arai America. I called Arai and the gentleman who answered the phone (Jeff I think was his name) knew immediately what I was talking about, saying the distortion comes from the extreme bend of the face shield. He said it exists on ALL XD-4 FACE SHIELDS (clear, light smoke, and dark smoke) and that some folks are able to deal with the distortion while others are not. I'm in the latter camp. Called Mick back with the news and he was gracious enough to accept a return for Zillacash since I had already taken the face shield out for two rides.
SUPER bummed about the distortion. I haven't read a single word about it anywhere.
