Replacement cheek pads for use with Arai XD4 Helmets.
For Arai XD-4 Helmets, all cheek pads are interchangeable between the different helmet sizes. Remember, if you need more room in the helmet you need to order a smaller (thinner) cheek pad. To make a helmet tighter, you would need to buy a larger (thicker) cheek pad.
Purchased a Small Arai XD and I kept getting a headache during long rides that started from my sinus area and worked its way to the top of my head. The helmet size was correct and I guessed that the headache I had might be due to the pressure from the cheek pad being exerted on my sinus. Swapped out the cheek pad for one size smaller and now have yet to experience a headache. So something worked.
FYI: The cheek pad size reduces the overall length not the thickness.

Arai cheek pads & the helmet
Riders understand its the crown of the head which should be used to properly fit a helmet which is precisely what I used when purchasing my Arai helmet. Unfortunately the cheek pads were too tight which another way to say it is my cheeks were too big for the helmet. Rather than the manufactuer taking into consideration the variance in head sizes, Arai choose to go with the one size fits all, pass the cost onto the customer approach. The small cheek pads fit perfectly but at a cost of $49 plus shipping/handling. With any luck Arai will offer different cheek pads at the point of sale someday... and I want a pony.

Custom fit a plus for Arai Helmets
I am hard to fit. This adjustability made all the difference comfortwise.

The originals were unconfortable for my type of head, these are better overall.

A bargain at almost any price
This is the second Arai I've owned, the first having been in the late 1980's. Why I didn't buy another one after that one I don't know...probably too cheap to realize what the quality was. At any rate, BEST HELMET I HAVE EVER OWNED! Hands down. I've been riding since 1974. I've owned Shoei's, HJC, and Airoh (British brand), and the Arai. It is by far the quietest and most effective helmet. Not only does it protect you from the pavement if such happens, but it FEELS GOOD!! Much quieter than riding without a helmet, great eye protection, the vents REALLY work, and the finish is amazing. I will NOT doubt Arai again.

The pads are very comfortable and the choice in sizes makes it easy to get the right fit.

Russell B: I bought an XD4, but am having trouble fitting it correctly. Large was very clearly too small, but XL isn't snug enough. Ordered the thicker comfort liner, too. Refer to the Arai website to see what thickness of these two items comes in your helmet, and to see the options, and to get the right replacement liners and cheek pads. (Liners are numbered, and don't all fit the same sized helmets,)Jun 9, 2014
Rob R: I Like having an additional cheek pads to swap out on longer multi-day rides. At the end of the day, just pull out old stinky, sweaty cheek pads and swap in the fresh set and your ready for a new day of adventure!Apr 27, 2014
daniel n: Pretty simple actually. Asides from the cheek pads in my "large" Arai XD4 being a bit to tight after 60 minutes or so, it was your decision to add the sizing chart showing the options and whats comes standard in the helmet. I surfed Motorcycle Superstore, ADVDesigns, a couple of others only to come back to the most professional online site in the industry today. By the way, NEVER but NEVER discontinue the online product videos with "The Dude" who covers each product thoroughly.Mar 16, 2014
Raymond B: Stock Cheekpads were to thick. I removed 5mm layer and cheeks were still pushed into my teeth.Aug 7, 2013
Bob C asked:What size are the stock pads? Lost weight need a tighter fit.Aug 25, 2014
David F:I have an xl XD-4 and need a little more room, just a little tight.. I got the thinner cheek pads and peeled some of the removable material for a perfect fit. Best fitting helmet by far.Aug 27, 2014
