Arai XD-4 Pinlock-Ready Faceshield

Pinlock ready face shield for Arai XD-4 Helmets with brow vents.

Although this XD-4 Pinlock Ready Brow Vent Faceshield will fit earlier XD version helmets, Arai recommends installing it only on helmets with brow vents.

Pinlock inserts sold separately.

Note: In RevZilla's experience, Pinlock shields and inserts for Arai XD-4 Helmets are not as effective as Pinlock shields and inserts for other Arai helmets due to the compound curves of the shield.

Great Product Bought this product for a cross country trip to deal with fogging issues on my XD-4. Works great but you would think this visor would come standard on a premium helmet or at least come with the insert when purchasing the visor. July 13, 2015
Pinlock or Nuthin' They need to rename this the Fog Destroyer Cold weather + hot breath = fog, but not with Pinlock. I can see everything crystal clear now, whether it's day or night, warm weather or cold weather. Easy to install, and makes a huge difference. April 13, 2015
what can I saw it is a replacement visor The shield fits like the one that came on the helmet. March 29, 2015
Multiple Pinlock Issues..... It's bad enough you're forced to drop another $80+ to address the fogging issue inherent to the XD-4, however, from day one after swapping visors, I've had problems with the pinlock...with the increased thickness of the shield combined with the insert, it hangs/rubs on the face shield opening each time you open/close...so much so, it led to breaking the seal between the shield and the insert, which defeats the purpose of the system, and allows rain water to actually accumulate between these...then with the added weight of the shield and pinlock, the hinge system no longer is as supportive, hence, in full open position, the slightest nod or jarring of your head causes the shield to partially close. Arai has been very accommodating to my concerns, so much so, they shipped my helmet to Japan to have the techs research a fix. Over a month later, still no resolution, and I still don't have my helmet. On the one hand, Arai has thrown everything at this trying to resolve the problem, on the other hand, this doesn't say much about their initial QA/QC of this add-on. I've become so frustrated that I'm one step away from requesting a refund, and seeking a competitors helmet. February 14, 2015
It Works. It's really the pinlock lens that shines here. When used with this visor, it eliminates fog inside the visor. the only thing this visor really could use, in this form, or regular version, is Arai's de mist lock. Aside from that, it does its job well. November 28, 2014
A must have for all Really simple to install and paired with the smoked lense attchment its a great set up. No fogging and crystal clear view. October 5, 2014
system is not user friendly and not designed very well Installing this pin lock filter to the visor is extremely difficult and fits poorly. very sad that Arai has this cam type pins. When you finally get it installed the filter touches the shield defeating the whole air gap insulation property. Arai should take another look at the design on their pin lock. Thanks June 21, 2014
Arai PinLock face sheild Not much to say...this is a standard Arai face sheild that has the "pins" installed for the PinLock inserts. Replacement is easy, 4 screws. Don't overtighten when replacing, they are plastic afterall. April 28, 2014

RevZilla Store asked: Why did you choose this?
Manny V: I needed a new face shield after my last Pinlock-ready shield and lens scratched up when dust got between them. I would not, however, buy another XD-4 helmet because the hard angles of the shield make it difficult for Pinlock lenses to keep the seal needed for it to not fog up. Feb 17, 2015
Greg W: Arai XD-4 fogs quickly. This solves the problem. Jan 30, 2015
R O: Trying the new Pinlock system. Never had one before. Sep 5, 2014
Leslie S: To be able to use pinlock insert for anti-fog. Aug 28, 2014
U S: because it should come with it Aug 25, 2014
Dave M: To avoid fogging shield in rain. Aug 18, 2014
DARYL B: poor fit and difficult to raise face shield due to top vents. Works well on my other helmets, but not my Arai. Jun 24, 2014
D I: Standard shield fogs a lot. Mar 25, 2014
darren a: to remove the early morning fogging Mar 23, 2014
Mark T: The original equipment Arai XD-4 shield I'd useless in the rain. It works great with a Pinlock system. Feb 23, 2014
Eric W: My visor was fogging up in cold and rainy conditions Dec 25, 2013
Ned B: Because the stock shield did not include this function. Why Arai ? Oct 3, 2013
Jin Y asked: The shape of this shield does not seem fit my XD4 helmet. Is this the picture of shield for Aria SAI helmet? Another question is, the gap between the stock shield and helmet is small, can I still fully open the shield after I get the pinlock insert installed? May 3, 2014

Paul A: Hi JinY ... The XD4 pinlock shield fit my 2012 XD4 helmet perfectly...I bought this shield because I ride in colder weather and wanted something that wouldn't fog and it serves that purpose down to about 30 degrees F...yes you can open the shield as fully as the stock shield with the pinlock installed....if the shield doesn't fit right check to make sure you didn't accidently get a shield for the XD3 May 7, 2014

reathel g: I have this shield for the xd4 and it fits perfectly. What doesn't fit perfectly is the insert which has a small gap at the bottom. This sometimes allows condensation to form between the shield and insert. May 7, 2014

Brian H: Fit is perfect, but it seemed to be too big at first. Just takes a small struggle to get it on the shield. No cutting or modifying necessary. Shield opens up without issue. May 11, 2014

Donn H: Hi, mine fit perfectly and I didn't have any problem with the pinlock interfering with the helmet. I don't know about the picture. Hope this helps. May 7, 2014

SPENCER C: I ended up cutting the slots in the pinlock but I have since been told that the pins rotate to provide more room for the inner shield. May 7, 2014

Preston J: Yes. The pin lock visor will not impact opening/closing. I have mine on an XD4 and it works perfectly. May 7, 2014
