Arai Vector 2 Schwantz Helmet
Great helmet... Pleased with purchase
I'm doing this review as an out of box assessment because I haven't ridden with it yet but most of my concerns were satisfied upon inspection, so I can't give a true opinion on air flow. My number one concern with this helmet was that the build quality would be inferior to my RX-7 Corsair. (replaced by the Corsair V) I was worried that maybe it wan't up to snuff, as Arai's entry level helmet, Coming from their top of the line helmet, despite the positive Revzilla reviews. Welp, I was wrong. I was very happy to open the box and find that it feels just as solid and well made as my previous helmet. The finish is just as beautiful, the graphics as carefully done, well designed and applied. All of the moving parts seem to be made with as much care as the top of the line Arai helmets. It even has the same heft as my RX-7, meaning it doesn't feel like cheap products were used to make it. I put it on and it feels very comfortable, exactly like my other Arai. I can't comment on noise but to say, I thought my RX-7 was always a pretty quiet helmet and they are supposed to be noisier, as their race helmet. I never wear ear plugs now. After wearing only Arai helmets for 12 years, I don't expect a difference. My vision from it is great, as well. I don't see this helmet being any problem or expect any regrets. It doesn't have the air vents of my RX-7 but it was about half of the price. In shape comparison, it's not radically different from the profile but a little wider, looking strait at it. I slapped a blue mirrored shield on it and it's great... ready for street and track. The shields on Arai helmets will always be a pain in my but to change, this being no exception but that's Arai, haha... I'd make this purchase again. (I wrote this for people wondering about the comparison, from a customer, to the top end Arai helmets, as I was... go for it.)

Right Shape for an Oddly-Shaped Head
This is my first time owning an Arai. My head is shaped such that most helmets are too round, making for an uncomfortable pressure point on my forehead. Not so with the the Vector 2. Having tried on other Arai helmets before, I was fairly certain that this would fit correctly. It did. Airflow is great, it is light, doesn't look like I'm wearing a jack-o-lantern, and the vision is great for somewhat upright to somewhat sporting riding positions. I elected to remove the nose diffuser due to my Italian heritage (Read: nose hits it). This isn't an issue in an Icon helmet, for example, but what the Arai offers is a form that is much truer to your face and head, not just your tape measure size.

Comfiest helmet ever
This is my third helmet and I'm very happy with it. The first two were made for a different head shape than mine (which is fairly round).
The good: The liner is very plush, field of vision is very wide and the ventilation is good. I can ride for a very long time, even with a thin balaclava underneath. It is very comfortable! The pinlock sheild/lens system is excellent at preventing fog and is great at keeping rain out. Noise level is ok, not super quiet.
The annoying: Arai missed the boat by not including a chin skirt! This causes air to whoosh around my face and makes the helmet a little louder. My hack for this is to use a
Scorpion EXO-500 Aero Skirt (i have an XS helmet). It fits pretty well and prevents so much air flow. Others have mentioned an HJC skirt but this doesnt fit an xs size helmet.
It's not perfect but if it fits your head i highly recommend this helmet..

Long live Ireland
Awesome helmet. I stepped up from an intro helmet made by Bilt, from cycle gear. The fit is perfect neither large nor small. The fit is snug which I like particularly. If you watch the video on this helmet everything turns out exact. It does what it's supposed to and more. My only dislike would have to be the side pods changing lens is an easy process at first. All and all great buy. Arai seems to be top notch.

Most comfortable helmet I've ever had
Only knock on the helmet is that I had to upsize due to the closeness of the helmet to mouth. I believe this small clearence is for safety reasons but it's still a concern.
I have a large head and this is the most comfortable helmet I've ever worn.

I'm Lovin' It!
This helmet fits me great and is a step up from the one I was wearing. I feel more secure in it. I have a small oval shaped head and the Arai Vector-2 cradles like a baby.Contrary to some beliefs I ride a Harley and also use this helmet with the pro shade system and love it!

I wear this yellow helmet in full black leather pants, jacket, gloves, boots most of the time. Standard motorcycle, Ducati Monster 696 '13.
Reporting after 18 months. The top vents, front and back are very delicate. One drop onto a locker room floor from a 2 ft bench is enough to crack them. Fortunately they are replaceable. Order several sets of air vents per year at $75. The eyebrow vents flow considerably, enough to make the eyes water on a cold morning. The eyebrow vents are limited in the number of openings/closings they can take, or falls, after which they need to be replaced as they will not hold lock position. The lock tab with slight visor crack (de-misting purposes) for over 65 mph is a bad design; the tab is thin and weak and requires considerable stress on the tab to insert--only a handful of uses is enough to require a new lock tab purchase.
Have ridden this in mild southern California, as well as 90 percent humidity Florida in the summertime. Air flow is exceptional, really no need to go half shell or zero helmet like so many riders in the south. Just be in shape and be under 10% body fat.

Arai Quality at a Fair Price.
I've only ridden with this helmet for 200-300 miles but I really like it. I've been riding with a modular for the last 10 years and decided I needed to go with a safer helmet. I also purchased the shade system and pinlock insert and both work very well. I have always worn a large and after watching the fitment video and checking out Arai's website I realized I was probably wearing too big of a lid. I gave the medium a try, and yes it was tight at first, but after a couple of hours it is incredibly comfortable. I did have to adjust the top liner but that's the beauty of this helmet, Arai built that function in. One of the most important things to me was being able to wear my glasses and even though this helmet fits snug they've made it very glasses friendly. Great product and great tips on fitment from RevZilla.
