Arai Vector 2 Schwantz Helmet
I bought this to replace my old Vector helmet. The design and color are fabulous. After wearing it for several hours I have a pinch over my right forehead I never had with my old helmet and will fiddle with the liner to see if I can get some better comfort there. I'd say its more round than oval. The pain stopped me riding several times this weekend to relieve the pressure. There is not as much fog control as I am used to and am having to put the visor up when coming to a road junction - it's in the 50's outside? It's noisier than expected but I have a mid-size fairing so not sure if it could have been better. I hope it breaks in before my headache does. It looks fabulous - the video does not do it justice. The glow of the white stripe is gold.

Excellent product as expected from Arai
Been an Arai customer for years, love their helmets but very expensive in my opinion. Quality, fit and finish is outstanding!

This helmet is light. It has the best air flow of any helmet I've ever used. It is loud, but not too bad considering it keeps your head from sweating. Amazing visibility.

Great helmet just...
I am just getting into riding now so this is my first helmet. Protection wise definitely feels safe. Only thing is I wish it came with multiple cheek pad sizes couse mine are a little tight. Other then that definitely would recommend the helmet.

I didn't expect that helmets can be so much better when you spend a little extra on them. This Arai helmet has amazing build quality to it, and they think of the little things. From not messing with the shell to how the foam fits around your cheeks head. The only problem I noticed is, I ride a Bonneville and since its more upright the top ventilation hole will whistle every now and then. All I have to do is close it and its quiet as it can possibly be.

Very happy in every way except to minor points to note:
1 the visor takes a bit of fiddling to get out. This would be nice to be a bit easier or obvious to do
2 in near freezing temps the back of my neck was a bit chilled and there was no way to stop the airflow although I had a scarf to block any airflow under the helmet. Our trip took us from 106F (37C) to near freezing and in all other conditions the helmet was great.

Way too noisy!!! Visor fiddly.
I have a "Shoei head" and rarely find other brands that are comfortable. After trying on many different helmets, I narrowed it down to a Shoei, and the Vector 2. Both quite pricey, both felt very comfortable. I decided on the Arai because I liked the extensive vents (I live in Australia and often ride in hot conditions). I also preferred the graphics on the Arai (although this was not a deciding factor).
I have 2 major gripes with the Vector 2.
The main one is that it is the NOISIEST helmet I have ever owned in 34 years of riding. I have tried closing all the vents, I have tried raising and lowering my fairing screen on my bike. Even when I wear moulded ear-plugs, this helmet is still noisy. I feel that it adds a lot to fatigue on a long ride. It may be that it is just the combination of the helmet, my fairing screen and my riding position, and other riders may not have the same problems (although my Shoei is fine on the same bike) but I do not recommend this helmet.
Gripe 2 is that the visor is quite fiddly to remove and replace. I often switch between tinted and clear visors on a ride, so ease of fitting is important to me. I feel like I have to force the visor too much to secure it but I am hoping it will become smoother and easier with wear. Having had quick release visors that were intuitive and easy to use right from the beginning, this one is disappointing (I guess I should have wondered why the salesperson demonstrating it was having so many problems too - I assumed he was just unfamiliar with it).
One final gripe is that although the brow vents work well, I found them slightly distracting, as they are just at the top of my vision. Not bad enough to interfere with my view, just a bit annoying.
On the plus-side, the vents (brow vents, chin vents, vents on the top and the back - there are vents EVERYWHERE!) give excellent airflow and cooling (if you can stand the noise), and the comfort and fit are very good.
Overall though - it's a big thumbs down. I am very disappointed with the helmet (especially for the price - over $500 AUD) and do not recommend it.

Great ventilation, super comfortable
First, kudos to Revzilla. This helmet arrived less than 24 hours after I ordered it, with standard shipping.
The Arai Vector 2 is incredibly comfortable. I had to take out the peel-away parts of the cheek pads to get the fit right, but once I did that it was great.
I rode an hour without earplugs today to evaluate the noise level. I found the Vector 2 pretty darn quiet, even with the ventilators open. I would still wear earplugs though.
Ventilation is excellent. I could really feel the air flowing through the helmet, much more so than with my other helmet, which is a high-end Japanese brand that is not Arai. My only concern is that there seemed to be a fair amount of wind blowing through the helmet even with the vents closed, and this might be a little cold in the winter.
Lastly, the face shield is a pain to get on and off at first, but once you get a feel for it, it's fine. Don't bother with the how-to video on the included DVD, it's just a slideshow. Revzilla's video on Youtube is much better.
