Arai Vector 2 Katsuyuki Nakasuga Replica Helmet

The Arai Vector 2 Motorcycle Helmet is the successor to Arai's hugely popular Vector model. New features for the Vector 2 Helmet include an SAI visor similar to RX-Q and Corsair V which provides wider field of vision. A replaceable interior liner has been modified to improve air flow around the head and to provide a more comfortable fit eliminating pressure points. The ventilation system has been revamped with a larger size switch and larger rear duct which will create 50% more vacuum..

  • Solid Colors
    • "Frost" indicates a Matte finish
    • "Diamond" refers to a metallic finish with metal flake
  • Complex Laminate Construction (CLC) shell that combines excellent shell integrity with light weight
  • Arai's exclusive multi-density, single piece hybrid EPS liner
    • Arai's multi-density EPS liner is like no other, comprised of up to 5 different densities in some models which is molded into a single piece
    • The single-piece hybrid liner and its unique benefit: the direct-fused contact area that each EPS call shares with its neighboring cells creates a mutual support - as one cell is crushed under impact, the surrounding cells assist with the energy absorption. (Liner pieces that are simply fitted or glued together cannot rely on such a high-level support bond.)
  • New ACF-2 front intake vent has an oversized intake opening for better airflow, and a sliding-door mechanism to more completely close it
  • Brow Vent Faceshield Ventilation System provides cooling air in upper face area without holes in critical forehead area of the shell or in the impact-absorbing liner material
  • Exclusive removable 5 mm Peel - away Cheek and Temple Pad layer-provides additional level of customization and fitment
  • Extreme peripheral view - same wider field of side to side visibility as the top-of-the-line Corsair V racing helmet (an additional 5mm on each side when compared to to previous Vector model)
  • New tuned rear vent/wing - Air inlets provide improved interior ventilation and heat removal
  • Hyper-Ridge band - newly sculpted lower reinforcement band provides stability and lower center of gravity for a lightweight feeling.
  • Larger side exhaust ports to increase airflow and minimize noise
  • Dual pivot chin vent to direct air to the rider or the shield for de-misting
  • Reinforced shell ridges with integrated side exhaust vents
  • Larger bottom opening for easier on and off
  • Removable/replaceable cheek pads with 5mm peel-away layer
  • Micro-fitting:
    • 5mm peel away cheek pad layer first introduced on the RX-Q comes standard on the Vector 2.
    • Gives you the option of a thinner cheek pad set for a custom fit without having to purchase additional cheek pads
    • Expanding on the 5mm peel-away cheek pads, the Arai Vector 2 is the first Arai model to offer 5mm peel away temple pads as well
  • Interior Shape:
    • Intermediate Oval - This shape is designed for the rider whose head has a front-to-back dimension that is longer than the side-to-side dimension. This is a neutral head-shape design which tends to fit most riders well.
  • Meets or exceeds Snell M2010 and D.O.T. standards

Great Helmet! I bought this to replace my 6 year old Vector 1. Love the helmet! It fit a little different than my Vector 1. But with the adjustable cheek pads, I had it fitting perfect in minutes. Got the High Viz and glad I did. My riding partners say the color hurts their eyes.....Its working! February 23, 2015
Excellent helmet, quality and style package, user configurable and accepts blue tooth speakers well I really love this helmet, the colors and style are outstanding as is the finish. I also give it high marks for quality in materials and construction. It is my best helmet decision by far. I was a little worried about the fit as normally I am an XL, but selected an L as the only choice being available at the time I ordered. Thanks to the top notch customer service at Revzilla and a personal conversation with Ethan I took the plunge and ordered the L. To my surprise the helmet arrived within 2 days! Trying it on I found the fit on the tight side (no surprise) but with the modifiable nature of Arai's excellent construction was able to arrive at a cheek pad configuration that fit me snugly and safely. For insurance I've ordered a second set of cheek pads as back up to my personal modifications. The ear cavities are generously cut so I've been able to fit my Bluetooth speakers easily. The multiple air intakes work quite well here in SoCal, and flow fresh air at speed. One small constructive criticism is that the shield lift point can be difficult to push past the detent. Once closed the shield seals very well and helps the overall noise level to stay down....however as new it is pretty snugly cinched down and one glove handed shield push ups can be finicky as you coast to a light or stop. Really if you can afford this helmet, buy it! February 16, 2015
All around great helmet In the middle of winter here so I've been wearing it around the house to break it in. Yes, my wife is afraid. I've owned a Vector 2 before so my ratings are based on previous experience. I expect this one to be no different. Watch the Arai video on how to change the shield. It's much easier than some people think. Takes about 20 seconds, including the Pro Sun Shield. Excellent finish inside and out. I've owned many different brands, but I keep coming back to Arai. To me, they really do look and feel better. February 9, 2015
Right Shape for an Oddly-Shaped Head This is my first time owning an Arai. My head is shaped such that most helmets are too round, making for an uncomfortable pressure point on my forehead. Not so with the the Vector 2. Having tried on other Arai helmets before, I was fairly certain that this would fit correctly. It did. Airflow is great, it is light, doesn't look like I'm wearing a jack-o-lantern, and the vision is great for somewhat upright to somewhat sporting riding positions. I elected to remove the nose diffuser due to my Italian heritage (Read: nose hits it). This isn't an issue in an Icon helmet, for example, but what the Arai offers is a form that is much truer to your face and head, not just your tape measure size. January 13, 2015
Comfiest helmet ever This is my third helmet and I'm very happy with it. The first two were made for a different head shape than mine (which is fairly round). The good: The liner is very plush, field of vision is very wide and the ventilation is good. I can ride for a very long time, even with a thin balaclava underneath. It is very comfortable! The pinlock sheild/lens system is excellent at preventing fog and is great at keeping rain out. Noise level is ok, not super quiet. The annoying: Arai missed the boat by not including a chin skirt! This causes air to whoosh around my face and makes the helmet a little louder. My hack for this is to use a Scorpion EXO-500 Aero Skirt (i have an XS helmet). It fits pretty well and prevents so much air flow. Others have mentioned an HJC skirt but this doesnt fit an xs size helmet. It's not perfect but if it fits your head i highly recommend this helmet.. Long live Ireland Awesome helmet. I stepped up from an intro helmet made by Bilt, from cycle gear. The fit is perfect neither large nor small. The fit is snug which I like particularly. If you watch the video on this helmet everything turns out exact. It does what it's supposed to and more. My only dislike would have to be the side pods changing lens is an easy process at first. All and all great buy. Arai seems to be top notch. December 12, 2014
Great helmet... Pleased with purchase I'm doing this review as an out of box assessment because I haven't ridden with it yet but most of my concerns were satisfied upon inspection, so I can't give a true opinion on air flow. My number one concern with this helmet was that the build quality would be inferior to my RX-7 Corsair. (replaced by the Corsair V) I was worried that maybe it wan't up to snuff, as Arai's entry level helmet, Coming from their top of the line helmet, despite the positive Revzilla reviews. Welp, I was wrong. I was very happy to open the box and find that it feels just as solid and well made as my previous helmet. The finish is just as beautiful, the graphics as carefully done, well designed and applied. All of the moving parts seem to be made with as much care as the top of the line Arai helmets. It even has the same heft as my RX-7, meaning it doesn't feel like cheap products were used to make it. I put it on and it feels very comfortable, exactly like my other Arai. I can't comment on noise but to say, I thought my RX-7 was always a pretty quiet helmet and they are supposed to be noisier, as their race helmet. I never wear ear plugs now. After wearing only Arai helmets for 12 years, I don't expect a difference. My vision from it is great, as well. I don't see this helmet being any problem or expect any regrets. It doesn't have the air vents of my RX-7 but it was about half of the price. In shape comparison, it's not radically different from the profile but a little wider, looking strait at it. I slapped a blue mirrored shield on it and it's great... ready for street and track. The shields on Arai helmets will always be a pain in my but to change, this being no exception but that's Arai, haha... I'd make this purchase again. (I wrote this for people wondering about the comparison, from a customer, to the top end Arai helmets, as I was... go for it.) December 10, 2014
Most comfortable helmet I've ever had Only knock on the helmet is that I had to upsize due to the closeness of the helmet to mouth. I believe this small clearence is for safety reasons but it's still a concern. I have a large head and this is the most comfortable helmet I've ever worn. December 1, 2014
