Arai Vector 2 Katsuyuki Nakasuga Replica Helmet

The Arai Vector 2 Motorcycle Helmet is the successor to Arai's hugely popular Vector model. New features for the Vector 2 Helmet include an SAI visor similar to RX-Q and Corsair V which provides wider field of vision. A replaceable interior liner has been modified to improve air flow around the head and to provide a more comfortable fit eliminating pressure points. The ventilation system has been revamped with a larger size switch and larger rear duct which will create 50% more vacuum..

  • Solid Colors
    • "Frost" indicates a Matte finish
    • "Diamond" refers to a metallic finish with metal flake
  • Complex Laminate Construction (CLC) shell that combines excellent shell integrity with light weight
  • Arai's exclusive multi-density, single piece hybrid EPS liner
    • Arai's multi-density EPS liner is like no other, comprised of up to 5 different densities in some models which is molded into a single piece
    • The single-piece hybrid liner and its unique benefit: the direct-fused contact area that each EPS call shares with its neighboring cells creates a mutual support - as one cell is crushed under impact, the surrounding cells assist with the energy absorption. (Liner pieces that are simply fitted or glued together cannot rely on such a high-level support bond.)
  • New ACF-2 front intake vent has an oversized intake opening for better airflow, and a sliding-door mechanism to more completely close it
  • Brow Vent Faceshield Ventilation System provides cooling air in upper face area without holes in critical forehead area of the shell or in the impact-absorbing liner material
  • Exclusive removable 5 mm Peel - away Cheek and Temple Pad layer-provides additional level of customization and fitment
  • Extreme peripheral view - same wider field of side to side visibility as the top-of-the-line Corsair V racing helmet (an additional 5mm on each side when compared to to previous Vector model)
  • New tuned rear vent/wing - Air inlets provide improved interior ventilation and heat removal
  • Hyper-Ridge band - newly sculpted lower reinforcement band provides stability and lower center of gravity for a lightweight feeling.
  • Larger side exhaust ports to increase airflow and minimize noise
  • Dual pivot chin vent to direct air to the rider or the shield for de-misting
  • Reinforced shell ridges with integrated side exhaust vents
  • Larger bottom opening for easier on and off
  • Removable/replaceable cheek pads with 5mm peel-away layer
  • Micro-fitting:
    • 5mm peel away cheek pad layer first introduced on the RX-Q comes standard on the Vector 2.
    • Gives you the option of a thinner cheek pad set for a custom fit without having to purchase additional cheek pads
    • Expanding on the 5mm peel-away cheek pads, the Arai Vector 2 is the first Arai model to offer 5mm peel away temple pads as well
  • Interior Shape:
    • Intermediate Oval - This shape is designed for the rider whose head has a front-to-back dimension that is longer than the side-to-side dimension. This is a neutral head-shape design which tends to fit most riders well.
  • Meets or exceeds Snell M2010 and D.O.T. standards

Solid Helmet I got this helmet right before a 4000 mile road trip over two weeks. Here are my observations during the break-in period. Pros: Good airflow Comfortable padding Looks great De-fogs easily Cons: Slightly short (chin sticks out a bit) Poor front vent placement (I ate a few bugs) Chin strap not well positioned for helmet lock Louder than helmets I've had in the past I have a... long face, so I was initially pretty worried that my chin was sticking out too much, but as the foam was broken in, it because a bit less noticeable. The lower front vent placement on the inside is the only real gripe I have with the product. If the holes were placed just slightly wider, I wouldn't have to drink bug puree. July 13, 2015
Amazing I could not be more happy with this helmet and with Revzilla in general. My items were shipped and delivered extremely fast. The customer service through Revzilla is outstanding. The helmets fit great and look awesome. July 10, 2015
Great entry-level to the mid-price range! First time rider, but not a first time helmet user. I definitely have an intermediate oval head, but slightly "filled" cheeks. I got the XL that came with 20mm cheek pads (despite the manual saying it'd come with 25mm). Regardless, I was able to pull off 5mm and it is PERFECT. I also just went with the Diamond Black - gloss finish with metallic flakes. Just enough "pop", but nothing flashy. The SAI lens system took a bit of time to get used to, but switching lenses is simple and quick. Air flow is great. I live in tropical weather, where heat AND humidity is a factor and I have no problems staying cool with this helmet. Again, for under $500, it's great quality with decent amount of "features" and design advantages. Love mine and looking forward to keeping this in use for a long time. July 4, 2015
Finally a comfortable helmet! Spent a lot of time trying on helmets with no success. Read about aria helmets and thought the price was higher than some but if it fits it's worth it. This helmet is so comfortable and light weight I would recommend it to anyone, especially a female! The comfort with the cheek pads are beyond expectations. I had the most trouble finding the right fit before this helmet. Smells were too small and mediums were too big. The size small in the aria helmet fit as though it were custom made. The view is amazing and the vents are great. This helmet has everything a beginner to intermediate could need. I need to spend more time switching shields though as it's easy to take off but more difficult to put back on. I am extremely happy with my purchase!!! June 29, 2015
Good Overall A great helmet for fast riding. City riding not so much, and also the cheekpads are very flimsy and might have to change them after less than 3 months of use. June 15, 2015
Typical Arai quality Let's start off with it's an Arai. This is my 5th or 6th Arai. Been wearing them for many years. It is lighter then the one I am replacing (Quantum II). There seems to be more field of view. It is considered Arai's entry-level helmet but this term is misleading, it is a fantastic value. Fyi, this helmet has the 2013/2014 graphic but the distributor ordered a new batch and it was manufactured in 2015 so it has the full five-year warranty. No guarantees they all are but it was a nice surprise. May 25, 2015
Worth Every Penny This is a great helmet for many reasons. I know its expensive, but the level of comfort and protection it offers makes it worth it. I live in Southern California so it can get very hot. This helmet has an awesome ventilation system, I can actually feel the cool air on my head. I upgraded my visor as well to the proshade system. It is a little tricky to switch out visors on this helmet and I need a tinted visor during the day. The fit is great and doesn't give me a headache as others have. Its fairly quiet too. And lets not forget the design, I'm a Irish girl so this is sooo me. :) Overall a great helmet and worth the money. May 22, 2015
Arai Vector 2 VS Shoei RF 1200 There is something called "confirmation bias" where a person positively will rate an item higher then it really is to justify their purchase. In my case I was absolutely hoping to prove to myself that my Shoei RF1200 was a superior helmet to the Arai Vector 2 because I was very satisfied with my Shoei, but I wanted to see what all fuss was about with Arai, so I gave it a go. I must say, I now know why everyone seems to love Arai helmets. It' hard to describe, but this helmet is greater then the sum of its parts. I look for some key ingredients when I purchase a helmet and those are: 1.) It needs to be light 2.) It needs to flow a ton of air (I live in the dessert and it's hot) 3.) It needs to not make my head look like I have a fish bowl on top of me. Large profile helmets look ridiculous 4.) It needs to have a very wide field of vision 5.) It needs to fit properly. I don't really care so much about a quiet helmet because I wear ear plugs, but the Arai is still pretty quiet, but the Shoei might edge it in quietness (very close IMO). The Arai meets all of the above criteria and right when you put it on you know there is something different about this lid. The fit is perfect for me. When you set the Arai next to my Shoei RF1200, the Arai looks to be a tiny tad larger, but when you put the Arai on my head, it actually "smaller" then the Shoei RF1200, and the only thing I can conclude is that the base of the Arai is wider at the neck preventing that "light bulb" shape look causing me to look like the Great Gazzoo. The air flow in insane. Seriously, this is where it blows my Shoei out of the water. I ride in 100 degree temps and when I am going down the road at 65 mph, I literally can feel my lips blowing due to the amour of air coming in, it's that good! If I get up to speed (over 85mph), my eyes will water from the wind coming in through the eye ports! Which bring me to the next huge thing is the visor on the Arai has these little air vents that click open and pipe a good amount of air right at my eyebrow location. This must be some sort of patent for Arai, because why every helmet manufacturer doesn't do this is beyond me? At speed in full tuck, I give the edge to the Shoei for buffeting less then the Vector 2, but at the 3/4 or upright position i give the edge to Arai Vector 2. When side checking to change lanes, I give the edge to Arai. On fit and finish, I give the win to Arai. I got the Vector 2 Crutchlow lid so it's fairly high viz and has a matte finish to it. My Shoei RF1200 is very nice and it's a shiny finish so it's not really an apples to apples comparison on exterior finish. But I like the vents and buckle better on the Arai. One area that the Shoei seems to excel is the changing of the visor. The Arai gets some getting used to and I know this operator error on my part, but I had a heck of time changing out my shield to dark smoke on my Vector 2. I have seem guys at the track change out their shields in 3 seconds so I just have to get the hang of it. But the Arai has a wider field of vision then my Shoei RF1200. It's tough to cough up 5 bills for a lid, but I'm kind of a gear nut so I put money into helmets and don't feel one bit bad about it, because in an "OFF" I think this lid will pay me back in spades.
