The Arai Vector 2 Motorcycle Helmet is the successor to Arai's hugely popular Vector model. New features for the Vector 2 Helmet include an SAI visor similar to RX-Q and Corsair V which provides wider field of vision. A replaceable interior liner has been modified to improve air flow around the head and to provide a more comfortable fit eliminating pressure points. The ventilation system has been revamped with a larger size switch and larger rear duct which will create 50% more vacuum.
The high-visibility color scheme is an excellent choice for those who wish to be safe as possible, studies have shown that rider visibility is a key factor in reducing motorcycle accidents.
Complex Laminate Construction (CLC) shell that combines excellent shell integrity with light weight
Arai's exclusive multi-density, single piece hybrid EPS liner
Arai's multi-density EPS liner is like no other, comprised of up to 5 different densities in some models which is molded into a single piece
The single-piece hybrid liner and its unique benefit: the direct-fused contact area that each EPS call shares with its neighboring cells creates a mutual support - as one cell is crushed under impact, the surrounding cells assist with the energy absorption. (Liner pieces that are simply fitted or glued together cannot rely on such a high-level support bond.)
New ACF-2 front intake vent has an oversized intake opening for better airflow, and a sliding-door mechanism to more completely close it
Brow Vent Faceshield Ventilation System provides cooling air in upper face area without holes in critical forehead area of the shell or in the impact-absorbing liner material
Exclusive removable 5 mm Peel - away Cheek and Temple Pad layer-provides additional level of customization and fitment
Extreme peripheral view - same wider field of side to side visibility as the top-of-the-line Corsair V racing helmet (an additional 5mm on each side when compared to to previous Vector model)
New tuned rear vent/wing - Air inlets provide improved interior ventilation and heat removal
Hyper-Ridge band - newly sculpted lower reinforcement band provides stability and lower center of gravity for a lightweight feeling.
Larger side exhaust ports to increase airflow and minimize noise
Dual pivot chin vent to direct air to the rider or the shield for de-misting
Reinforced shell ridges with integrated side exhaust vents
Larger bottom opening for easier on and off
Removable/replaceable cheek pads with 5mm peel-away layer
Micro-fitting:
5mm peel away cheek pad layer first introduced on the RX-Q comes standard on the Vector 2.
Gives you the option of a thinner cheek pad set for a custom fit without having to purchase additional cheek pads
Expanding on the 5mm peel-away cheek pads, the Arai Vector 2 is the first Arai model to offer 5mm peel away temple pads as well
Interior Shape:
Intermediate Oval - This shape is designed for the rider whose head has a front-to-back dimension that is longer than the side-to-side dimension. This is a neutral head-shape design which tends to fit most riders well.

This is a fantastic helmet. I have a reverse egg and this helmet fits me very well. The profile won't fit a reverse egg since it's too narrow and a neutral helmet is too round. This helmet is the best you can get if you have a slightly narrow head shape. The airflow is fantastic, it's super light and very, very comfortable. I hadn't intended on spending this much on a helmet but I'm glad I did. I will wear nothing but Arai from now on.

In comparison to my only other helmet(Shoei RF-1100), I found the shoei to fit more round on top to where I could feel movement when with head checks at speed. Now that helmet is a small, I had tried on an xs and found I couldn't get it on my head without ripping off my ears.
Now on to the Arai. I ordered an xs right off the bat hoping to get lucky, and for once I did. My head measures just under 55cm and I figured after break in it should be comfortably snug. Well after 500 miles I can say this helmet fits awesome, nice and snug everywhere on my head. 45, 65, 85mph, head checks, buffeting, no problem.
It is noisy even with all the vents closed, and with them open, and with them open it's even worse, but they do flow a good amount of air with all of them open so it's worth the trade off(Hooray for earplugs!!!). All the vents are easy to use with gloved hands, even the faceshield brow vents which I thought could be a little fiddly.
Vision is good up and down and even better side to side, so no complaints there.Changing the shield is a bit nerve wracking at first, but do it a few times watching the video on this site and you'll figure it out.
All in all, I'm more than satisfied with my purchase. would it have been nice to get it for less money? Sure, but when you think about the cost spread over the five years this should last, it's not so bad. Thumbs up to the Revzilla team for a quick and painless transaction!!! Peace.

Excellent quality and features. The quality and lightness of this helmet is evident the first time you put it on. You truely do get what you pay for and the Arai delivers. The helmet is comfortable and the extended periphial view provides great side visibility. The graphics on the Classic Star are rich and deep and have garnered many comments from other riders. The Arai just feels lighter and less cumbersome on my head then other helmets. Arai has gained a new customer.

After getting measured and trying on several Arai helmets, I realized that the feel and fit of the Vector 2 was the one for me.
My head size (22"-22 1/2") is in between a small and a medium. I tried on the Vector 2 in a small and a medium - both fit really well. There were no pressure points near the top of the head - just the cheek pads were extremely firm on my cheek bones.
I ended up buying a Medium. After wearing the helmet for a month, the cheek pads have worn in and I can feel the helmet move back slightly against my face at highway speeds. There is almost no movement at any other time - but I believe I should've originally gotten the Small.
The helmet is very quiet and comfortable to wear. I have no issues wearing a skull cap or balacalva under the helmet.
This is my second Arai - I am an Arai customer for life.

I love this helmet, the overall design is fantastic. It's light weight and fits perfectly. The only flaw I see is in the visor I purchased, it has 2 air vents right above your eyes so it sometimes dries out my contacts in cold weather. In the warm weather it'll be perfect for getting ventilation!

I had the privilege of riding with this helmet one and a half times. It is beautifully constructed with excellent paint and fit and finish. The interior is soft and very comfortable. Vision is great and the ventilation started working with all vents open at about 20 mph. I couldn't ask for a better helmet, even though it is very pricey.
I say one and a half time times because on my second ride, I was in an accident. I hit a truck that turned left in front of me. I hit the passenger side of the truck head on at about 30 mph. The helmet withstood the impact very well. The rear wing broke off, and there were some dents and scratches on the shell that indicate it spared my chin and jaw from some pretty serious lacerations, since I ended up with a laceration to my neck. I wish I never tested it in an actual accident, especially since it ended my riding hobby for at least the next 20 years, but I couldn't be happier with this helmet. My head is worth the price. If my wife ever allows me to get back on a bike, I will be buying the newest Arai available.

The Vector 2 came to my attention at a recent motorcycle show. The fit was far better than the helmet I owned. Having owned and worn it for a about a month I am very, very pleased with the fit and feel. It would be nice if it came with a fog free shield, but while moving the airflow is fantastic and fog clears right away. If you have a round shaped head this is the helmet for you.
