Arai Vector 2 Helmet - (Size 2XL Only)
Issues with fit and comfort
This helmet gets a lot of great reviews and I think the quality overall is good although the vent sliders are somewhat flimsy. I have a some issues with the helmet, though. First, there is no cover/padding around the D-ring and the strap cuts into my throat, leaving some deep marks after a while. I will fix this by using a cover from another helmet. Second, there is no chin skirt, making the helmet annoyingly loud and extremely drafty. I retrofitted a chin skirt using one from my old Scorpion helmet with some minor modification. Third, I had to buy smaller cheek pads to make the helmet fit snugly enough. The cut-outs for the ears are so far in the back that one has to wonder if there is a person in existence who has ears placed in that spot. The result is a lot of pressure on my ears from the pads, which hurts and leaves them red all over. I cut some foam away to fit my ears better but the pressure is still too much. Fourth, like others have said, pressure points on my forehead will develop after wearing it on the bike for about 2 hours. Honestly, I expect more from an expensive helmet like this and I certainly don't want to come up with fixes that would be easy and cheap to include like the strap padding and the chin skirt. The poor fit could just be an issue of my head shape. I now have an expensive helmet that I can only use for short trips and I will use my much cheaper Scorpion for longer trips. It has all the missing features and fits me much better.

Good but some issues
Fit adjustability is nice -- being able to remove a piece of foam from the temple pads and cheek pads helped customize the fit for me.
The helmet still pressed on my upper forehead some. I guess I have a kind of square head and my forehead does not slope back enough. Ended up compressing the EPS a bit and also gluing in a piece of plastic and fabric to avoid getting weird lines on my head from the seams in the liner. So kind of a pain but now it works.
Airflow is ok, but not astounding. Also the top vent whistles a bit above 40 mph. Still working on fixing that -- maybe putting something in there to add some turbulence to the air. Closing the top vent solves the problem and does not seem to reduce overall air flow a lot, so maybe that is the solution also.
Overall fit and safety feel good, but some individual customization was needed.

I have purchased many cheaper helmets in the past and would have saved so much money by buying this one in the first place. I love this helmet!

I get compliments on my helmet almost at all times. Fits, looks great. Almost a bad thing because I get noticed by friends all the time

Awesome helmet, even though it's the cheaper of the lineup.

This is my first Arai helmet, and I am very impressed thus far. The field of view is great, and the visor is optically perfect with no distortion at all. It's lightweight, and I like the fact that you can adjust the interior fit a bit. It's very comfortable, and the only negative aspect I've found is that it's pretty loud, but that's the cost of ventilation I guess, and this helmet has exceptional ventilation. Fit / finish and overall quality is exceptional as well, which I guess is to be expected from Arai. I'm glad I made the decision to go with this helmet. Oh, and the high-vis is awesome, and really gets people's attention.

Love my Nakasuga!!!
Love this helmet. I always get many compliments on it. Matches my r1 perfectly. A tad on the noisy side but It doesn't really bother me since I have my ear protection on most of the time. Great air flow, really light weight. It was either a rf1200 or a vector 2 for me, glad I went with the vector 2. Not to mention I got it price matched which sweetened the deal for me. 5 stars for RevZilla's customer service. Always a pleasure dealing with them!

get the size and padding correct and you will love it
I love this helmet. There is good air flow and like the eye brow vents. It does not blow around in the wind. Two things I would recommend are if you are close or between sizes lean toward the larger size. Arai and revzilla carries different size liners and cheek pads that snap right in. The liners and pads can be made to fit. The temple pads can be removed if it is a pressure point. The other thing is wear it for more than ten minutes before you decide if it is a fit. I did not. It was fine for 10 minutes but after 30 minutes it was sore and after an hour it was just torture.Wear it around the house. Get the padding and size right and it just a part of your head and you forget about it. Can wear it all and it is a pleasure.
