One of the worst products I've ever purchased

This arrived today along with the insert. Well, trying to turn the screws to secure the insert will cause 2 issues: 1. The screws will strip at light speed (absolutely terrible design here, one of the worst I've ever seen - plastic screws are you kidding me) and if you push too hard the screw will actually pop out (the "lock" screw is a 2 piece plastic set that pops out very easily with hardly any effort). It took me 20 minutes of messing around with the da*m screw to finally get the insert on. But I could only get one side to "lock" the insert in place. Like the other reviewer said DO NOT USE A SCREWDRIVER. For $60 Arai should be ashamed of themselves.

This is a nice shield that uses new technology for fighting against fog. It does the job as it is advertised. My only complaint about this shield is the screws. A manual comes with the face shield stating that you can adjust the small "pegs" in the back by tightening or loosening the screw. That sounded good, but the screws are made of very soft metal that will strip even if you are very careful. What I did was used needle nose pliers to turn the peg on the inside of the shield to the correct position to give the shield insert a tight and secure fit.
Cliff Notes: DO NOT use a screwdriver to adjust the locks for the shield insert.

The Arai SAI Max Vision Pinlock Ready Face Shield w Brow Vents is the perfect addition to your lineup of face shields.
Before buying this shield, I would have issues with early morning fog and condensation on both sides of the standard Arai face shield that came with my Vector 2. After receiving the Arai SAI Max Vision Pinlock Shield and installing an insert, the first cold morning ride was great - no more fog, no more condensation. The shield stayed clear the entire time.
The Arai SAI Max Vision Pinlock shield inserts extend all the way to the seal on the sides - so the field of vision is the same as if I was wearing a regular shield!
I definately recommended picking up one of the Arai SAI Max Vision Pinlock Shields if you haven't already.

I have used the Pinlock inserts with a number of different helmets, but this one is a little different. Impressively so. The Arai SAI Max Vision Pinlock Ready Face Shield has an indent where the visor fits into place. This indent allows the pinlock visor to sit flush with the rest of the visor and also use a thicker material than previous inserts, it also allows the insert to overlap the rubber trim of the eye port. The result is a visor that allows for a better functioning pinlock insert, with no visible edges.
Great design and well worth the upgrade.

Does this work with the Vector 2? I don't see this version, with the brow vents, as an orderable part from Arai for the Vector 2. I only see the version without brow vents. Can anyone confirm that this shield is compatible?
How does the anti-fog capabilities of this, along with the inserts, compare to the Arai Dual Pane SAI shield? Is there anyone that has tried both that can give some insight?

Answer:
This is compatible with the Arai Vector 2 and is the newest version that allows for the brow vents.To compare with the Dual Pane shield, I don't think that the anti-fog properties are much different, however, the Dual Pane will allow for a larger field of vision. The downside is that the Dual Pane is not really removable, whereas the Pinlock can be switched out as needed.

The Arai SAI Max Vision Pinlock Ready Shield absolutely works with the Vector 2 - I am using it right now with mine. I was able to get the Max Vision with the brow vent option - maybe it wasn't available yet when you were trying to order yours.Check out the Arai page on the Max Vision shield. It sold me on buying one. If you don't see the link below - just go to the araiamericas webpage and select the Vector 2 helmet. There should be a link on the right side of the screen for this shield.

I haven't used the Arai Dual Pane SAI shield. But after riding in the cold and cool mornings this spring and having the regular Arai shields fog like crazy, these shields don't fog at all. These are incredible. It was like a completely different ride not having to worry about my shield fogging.
