Arai RX-Q UK Flag Helmet 2013
Great finish and quality
This helmet fits me well, is true to size and seems to be great quality. I gave it an excellent for "protection & durability" I hope I never have to prove that!

Love this helmet. I normally wear a small, so that's what I bought and it fits perfectly! Really comfortable, a LOT quieter and lighter than my old HJC. Also has a lot better air vents on it! You can open or close them depending on how much air flow you want. Definitely a great deal! I got the diamond black one and it actually looks sparkly in the light, really cool! Definitely recommend this helmet to anyone looking to upgrade.

Exceptional fit, finish, features and design.
After tedious research I am very pleased with the purchase of my Arai RX-Q Groove helmet in red & black.
The feel, fit, finish and noise level is virtually identical with my Arai Corsair V Russell. The RX-Q might be a hair less noisy at higher speeds, however I would be splitting hairs. The ventilation system is quite good.
I went with the light smoke visor on my Corsair V Russell and decided to go with the dark smoke visor on my RX-Q. I like the dark visor for sunny days and the light smoke for when my ride may go beyond day light into the evening. The dark looks much more ominous, which I dig. See photos attached.
Revzilla represented the best price, which is typically the case with few exceptions and the customers service as always was superb.
Go big or go home....

Perfect round shape
I have a very round head and it fits perfect. Looks even better with silver mirrored visor.

Absolutely love this helmet
Super light and comfortable. The insides are easily removed for cleaning and the cheek pad thickness is adjustable. This is my wife's helmet and she loves it. We also bought the blue mirrored face shield. It looks great. Pricey but the best helmet she's had.

One of the best helmets I've had
I've owned three full face helmets. HJC RPHA-10, SHOEI X12, ARAI RX-Q ORIENTAL. The latter is by far my favorite helmet in terms of comfort.
Fits me snugly. The padding feels soft but surprisingly holds my cheeks well, and it is such an ease to wear and remove the helmet.
One of a kind japanese graffiti. Lots of people have asked me about the graphics.
Field of vision:
Slightly harder to check my blindspot compared to my Shoei X12 which has a wider field of vision but I got used to it after awhile - you just gotta turn your head more.
What can be improved:
Wind noise and quality of padding. Padding looks kinda like of cheaper built, so is the choice of color. But don't get me wrong. The Arai RX-Q Oriental is an excellent helmet!

Arai was not my first choice in a helmet. I really would have preferred a modular because I get a little claustrophobic at times. The only helmet that fit my head shape without crushing my temples is the Arai. Until that changes they will be my go to brand, but I just wish that my head didn't have such expensive tastes!
I'll be the first to admit that I'm not entirely sold on the idea that a "premium" brand offers more crash protection than any other DOT certified helmet. Features and quality materials yes, but actual meaningful structural superiority? Not so sure.
The fit and finish is excellent. I love the frost finish on the black, and I've grown to like the cat ear vents! My eyes line up perfectly center in the eye port, but the chin seems a little close. Lots of breath condensation occurs there. It's been cold, so I haven't opened the top vents much. I have just for testing, and they seem to really channel air well. However; there is a price to pay, and that comes with significantly increased wind noise. I wear ear plugs so it doesn't really bother me much though. The chin curtain is kind of a gimmick. You will still get a lot of wind coming up under your chin an into your face. Probably will be grateful in the summer, but absolutely not in the winter. Scarf or balaclava is a must in the 30's. Wind buffeting seems to be at a minimum. Hard for me to really be a judge because I do ride with a windscreen though.
At this price I wish it came with pinlock visor, and a ratchet style chin strap. It sucks that you have to spend more money to have to purchase a face shield to get the same features of pinlock and drop down visor at this price. If you have a rounder head like I do, then this is hands down the most comfortable helmet you will ever wear. I do 5 hours in the saddle on weekends as my commute. My Schuberth (which I desperately wanted to love) gives me migraines, and excruciating pain behind the ears at around the hour mark. Bell crushes my temples Immediately, and can be tolerated for about 30 minutes. Shoei, pretty much the same. I have an extensive collection of unworn helmets thanks to Arai. I just think it's over priced, but I've been called a cheap SOB more than once. I'm slightly bitter because I feel like I don't have a choice, but I'm grateful that my head's helmet of choice is a fantastic all around lid.

You get what you pay for!!!
This is my 2nd Arai helmet. I was in an accident 6 months ago and the helmet definitely did it's job. I've tried several brands on and Arai was the most comfortable. I have a Purple Sai shield and it compliments the helmet very well. The only issue I really have, is the fogging at stops, which I've read on other reviews. I love my helmet!!!
