Arai RX-Q UK Flag Helmet 2013
I love this thing
After not having ridden for 40 years I don't have a lot of helmets with which to make comparisons, but I love this thing. I opted for an Arai RX-Q black DNA to complement the red '12 Triumph Speed Triple I now ride. ...an excellent choice.
Some years ago I when to watch a race at Barber in Alabama and an Arai rep was there and fitted me with the helmet shape that is now the RX-Q. But that was a few years ago. I used a tape measure to measure my head size and then bought the recommended size for my measurement (large). When I got it, it was so difficult to put on that I thought I had made a terrible mistake. It was so tight it was almost painful when I did get it on. However; I did remove the 5mm from the cheek pads in accordance with the instructions and that helped....a little.
I've been wearing it (7,400 miles on the bike since mid March) and this thing fits like a glove right now. It's had time to mold to the exact size and features of my head and it just couldn't fit any better. It's comfortably snug and no amount of wind, no position of my head in the wind, causes it to wobble or shift. There is no buffeting at all...even when I'm looking left and right at the country side.
It does have significantly more wind noise than I thought it would, or should, have....but then, I have nothing to compare it to. I had been advised to wear ear plugs and that turned out to be excellent advice. Wearing the simple, squeezable, earplugs in this helmet makes the bike much more comfortable to ride. I love this helmet. Great style, great protection, no buffeting.
I highly recommend the RX-Q.

This is my first helmet purchase and I don't think I would go with any other helmet for future purchases. The style and comfort is second to none. I've been using this helmet to commute everyday for 3 months and it still looks like the day it came out of the box. When it comes to protecting your head, there is no reason to go with something cheap. I can wear this helmet for hours with no issues. Had to have an Arai helmet once I tried on my brothers. Everything else I tried on just didn't feel for fit the same. The comfort of the helmet is enough for me to justify the cost. You can't go wrong with an Arai.

Arai Saved my Head!!
I was leaving on the first day of a ten day ride from Houston, Texas to Colorado. I made it about forty miles from home when I was hit from the side buy a Truck.
I landed on the back of my head and right shoulder! I remember the helmet did not bounce? I have broken ribs and a hole in my lung but no injury to my head or neck!
I have inserted some pictures that do not show the soft spot that I feel saved my head!
I hate that this cost me my new Oriental 2010! I am hoping he has insurance to cover it!

Money well spent.
This is my first *real* helmet. After reading all the reviews on this site, I pulled the trigger and did not regret my decision. The ventilation and comfort are definitely the main reasons the RX-Q is perfection in a physical form. However, although quiet in its intended riding position, the wind noise increases sharply any time I lower my head even a little. While not nearly as loud as my old modular helmet, I was expecting a bit more wind noise reduction in the 3/4 riding position. I purchased matte black finish version of the helmet and decided it needed a little more color :)

UK Flag RX-Q Size L
My old Arai Signet GTR Chris Carr had served me well but was now 10+ years old and ready to be replaced. I ride an '07 Bonneville and various old Triumphs, BSAs, and Nortons, so my helmet choice came down to the new Bell Bullit, the Arai Phil Read replica, or this UK Flag helmet. The Bell looks really cool but I think the Arai is probably safer and an all around better choice for not really that much more money than the Bell.
Revzilla shipping was scary fast and I almost left the helmet sitting overnight at my front door because there was no way that it could possibly be delivered the very next day after I order it!
I bought the size large, same as my Arai Signet. The large RX-Q felt really snug at first compared to my comfy old helmet. I've only had it a couple weeks and it feels like it is breaking in nicely. In comparison the old helmet now feels loose and unsafe to use.
The graphics are great, maybe a little much for riding a vintage bike but other than the Phil Reed (which doesn't look as good in the new white as it did in the old black) there's not many full face choices.

Love the airflow. Wish it came with the Pin-lock visor like the Signet-Q

ARAI RX-Q is really impressive/ worth every penny....
Took it out of the box and the first thing I noticed was the weight.
Lighter than I expected. There was no mistaking the quality feel however, and the liner is beautiful. Wow, felt really tight ( size large, 59.5 cm according to the noggin chart - yep, you can trust it ) the videos prepared me for this, watch them! I have several hundred miles on this helmet, and after removing the 5mm layer of cheekpiece foams to fine tune the fit , it is the most comfortable helmet yet by far. I feel safer (and can hear my tunes at any speed - even with louder pipes). Quiet, perfect fit and finish , comfy washable liner, paint is amazing, venting is very good ( I can feel the cool air as it travels through my thinning hair toward the exhaust vents). Get you a pin visor to control fogging on cooler nights/mornings. I would recommend you buy THIS helmet - you can't afford not to - your head, and the people that care about you deserve the ARAI quality, and the extra degree of peace of mind. Plus it looks great too! Keep the shined side up!

1 Year Later...
As a new rider I did not want to skimp on the helmet. This lid is great. Probably the best piece of bike equipment I own. Build is top quality - from cheek & head padding, to multiple vents and visor mechanism, to chin wind guard. Fit is snug but not too tight. This season I purchased a couple pinlock visors - super easy to install and no fogging. As my first helmet I am v impressed w Arai.
