Perfect fit Arai was not my first choice in a helmet. I really would have preferred a modular because I get a little claustrophobic at times. The only helmet that fit my head shape without crushing my temples is the Arai. Until that changes they will be my go to brand, but I just wish that my head didn't have such expensive tastes! I'll be the first to admit that I'm not entirely sold on the idea that a "premium" brand offers more crash protection than any other DOT certified helmet. Features and quality materials yes, but actual meaningful structural superiority? Not so sure. The fit and finish is excellent. I love the frost finish on the black, and I've grown to like the cat ear vents! My eyes line up perfectly center in the eye port, but the chin seems a little close. Lots of breath condensation occurs there. It's been cold, so I haven't opened the top vents much. I have just for testing, and they seem to really channel air well. However; there is a price to pay, and that comes with significantly increased wind noise. I wear ear plugs so it doesn't really bother me much though. The chin curtain is kind of a gimmick. You will still get a lot of wind coming up under your chin an into your face. Probably will be grateful in the summer, but absolutely not in the winter. Scarf or balaclava is a must in the 30's. Wind buffeting seems to be at a minimum. Hard for me to really be a judge because I do ride with a windscreen though. At this price I wish it came with pinlock visor, and a ratchet style chin strap. It sucks that you have to spend more money to have to purchase a face shield to get the same features of pinlock and drop down visor at this price. If you have a rounder head like I do, then this is hands down the most comfortable helmet you will ever wear. I do 5 hours in the saddle on weekends as my commute. My Schuberth (which I desperately wanted to love) gives me migraines, and excruciating pain behind the ears at around the hour mark. Bell crushes my temples Immediately, and can be tolerated for about 30 minutes. Shoei, pretty much the same. I have an extensive collection of unworn helmets thanks to Arai. I just think it's over priced, but I've been called a cheap SOB more than once. I'm slightly bitter because I feel like I don't have a choice, but I'm grateful that my head's helmet of choice is a fantastic all around lid. February 9, 2016
You get what you pay for!!! This is my 2nd Arai helmet. I was in an accident 6 months ago and the helmet definitely did it's job. I've tried several brands on and Arai was the most comfortable. I have a Purple Sai shield and it compliments the helmet very well. The only issue I really have, is the fogging at stops, which I've read on other reviews. I love my helmet!!! January 8, 2016
Great helmet I am replacing an arai quantum/e with this one. The fit seems the same to me. The interior fabric is not quite as soft, but not that big a deal. I crashed my bike 3 weeks ago and am so happy I was wearing my arai and not my silly helmet I sometimes wear around town when I don't feel like messing up my hair. I was aware the moment My head hit the pavement how lucky I was to be in a good helmet. November 9, 2015
Great Helmet I have to say that you get what you pay for! This helmet is awesome as far as functionality and features. The venting is the best I've experienced with any helmet thus far. The one complaint I have is the shield fogs up at stop lights. I have the Pinlock shield and insert and once I switch it over, that problem will be eliminated. I also carry extra shields and the dark smoke and mirror shields are the ones that have issues with fogging. Also, when turning your head at freeway speeds, the wind buffeting is noticeable. Great factory part This shade cuts out the glare nicely on those really sunny days It takes about 10 seconds to swap these shields Great product Xcellent customer service Thank you revzilla! October 26, 2015
Very Comfortable This is my fourth motorcycle helmet, by far the most comfortable. I have a short commute to and from work 6-days per-week and ride for pleasure as well. This is one of quietest helmets I have owned as well. There were other options, however Arai seems to fit my face pretty well, I am a intermediate oval shape with big dumbo ears. I have difficulty fitting into AGV, Shoe, and many other higher end helmet brands and the ability to adjust the padding size in in specific areas is a plus. The air vent in the windscreen is one of my other favorite features as well, really does channel air towards your temples and keeps your head cool. Have had problems with getting headaches from being overheated in my other helmets, not a problem with this helmet. Definitely tested in the heat this year in San Diego, 100+ Fahrenheit multiple days this summer. Would recommend, worth saving your money for this. October 20, 2015
It's an Arai.. What can you say other than "it's an Arai". They make GREAT helmets and you can't go wrong. My head on the other hand is always been hard to fit. With an oval head sized 22.25 I am the biggest of a size small or smallest of size medium. Since you want a snug helmet and padding shrinks after a short time I always go small and it's a bit rough till padding reduces a bit but the shape of Arai just fits my head better. I have had Shoei but they just don't fit right. If you have an oval head and or just want one of the best helmets out there protecting your brain pan go ARAI.... October 19, 2015
Good fit for a round head. The RX-Q is a good helmet for those with round heads. October 13, 2015
