UK Flag RX-Q Size L My old Arai Signet GTR Chris Carr had served me well but was now 10+ years old and ready to be replaced. I ride an '07 Bonneville and various old Triumphs, BSAs, and Nortons, so my helmet choice came down to the new Bell Bullit, the Arai Phil Read replica, or this UK Flag helmet. The Bell looks really cool but I think the Arai is probably safer and an all around better choice for not really that much more money than the Bell. Revzilla shipping was scary fast and I almost left the helmet sitting overnight at my front door because there was no way that it could possibly be delivered the very next day after I order it! I bought the size large, same as my Arai Signet. The large RX-Q felt really snug at first compared to my comfy old helmet. I've only had it a couple weeks and it feels like it is breaking in nicely. In comparison the old helmet now feels loose and unsafe to use. The graphics are great, maybe a little much for riding a vintage bike but other than the Phil Reed (which doesn't look as good in the new white as it did in the old black) there's not many full face choices. Very comforatable Love the airflow. Wish it came with the Pin-lock visor like the Signet-Q July 14, 2014
ARAI RX-Q is really impressive/ worth every penny.... Took it out of the box and the first thing I noticed was the weight. Lighter than I expected. There was no mistaking the quality feel however, and the liner is beautiful. Wow, felt really tight ( size large, 59.5 cm according to the noggin chart - yep, you can trust it ) the videos prepared me for this, watch them! I have several hundred miles on this helmet, and after removing the 5mm layer of cheekpiece foams to fine tune the fit , it is the most comfortable helmet yet by far. I feel safer (and can hear my tunes at any speed - even with louder pipes). Quiet, perfect fit and finish , comfy washable liner, paint is amazing, venting is very good ( I can feel the cool air as it travels through my thinning hair toward the exhaust vents). Get you a pin visor to control fogging on cooler nights/mornings. I would recommend you buy THIS helmet - you can't afford not to - your head, and the people that care about you deserve the ARAI quality, and the extra degree of peace of mind. Plus it looks great too! Keep the shined side up! June 27, 2014
1 Year Later... As a new rider I did not want to skimp on the helmet. This lid is great. Probably the best piece of bike equipment I own. Build is top quality - from cheek & head padding, to multiple vents and visor mechanism, to chin wind guard. Fit is snug but not too tight. This season I purchased a couple pinlock visors - super easy to install and no fogging. As my first helmet I am v impressed w Arai. June 14, 2014
Love this Helmet I have ridden a few hundred miles with this helmet so far. I ride a cruiser with no windshield, and have been on the German autobahns at triple digit speeds. I haven't noticed any annoying whistles or rattles. My head doesn't get buffeted around in the wind, and head checks don't catch obscene amounts of wind. This is my first personally-owned motorcycle helmet, so I don't have much to compare to, but I assume these are common traits of a full-face helmet, and I won't wear anything else. I installed a Cardo ScalaRider G9x on my helmet, which is mounted on the left side of the helmet. I used the clamp method to install (there are included alternative adhesive mounts). I removed the liner to route the wires. The cheek pads have rigid tabs fore and aft, and soft tabs up front. I routed the microphone and speaker wires, being careful not to pinch them under these tabs. I Velcro-mounted the mic directly above the chin vent, and it seems to be an ideal location. The mic doesn't touch my face, it doesn't catch wind noise, and other people on intercom hear me fine. I routed the speakers under the left cheek pad, around the rear retention tab, around the back of the helmet, and around the rear retention tab of the right cheek pad. The ear cups in this helmet are foam, encased in mesh "pockets". I simply pulled off the mesh, placed the speakers in the ear cups, and replaced the mesh. I didn't bother Velcro mounting the speakers, since they seem pretty secure in the mesh pockets. I don't know if this is by design, but it works out perfect! I could have "RTFM", but what's the fun in that? It's a beautiful piece. Anyone who has handled an Arai knows what to expect from them. My only (minor) complaint with this helmet, is that my friends' Signet-Q helmets came with pinlock visors and lenses. Mine, unfortunately, did not. No biggie. I'll get the system when/if I feel the need. June 11, 2014
Great Helmet! I originally ordered a medium in size, because the other Arai helmet i wore (XD4) was a size medium and fit great. I had to return the RX-Q in medium for a small. The small fits perfectly. It is definitely true to the size chart, and wish I had used that as reference originally to avoid needing to exchange it and wait longer to start using the RX-Q. Helmet has great air flow, light weight, and comfortable. It is quiet as long as the face shield is down. It is an overall great helmet and I definitely recommend it. June 4, 2014
Fabulous helmet! Getting a good helmet in India (where I live) can get challenging. For one, it's a lot more expensive because of the duties. For another, you might not get the same choice that you get elsewhere since importers only bring in a few limited pieces. So, when a friend who was traveling from the US offered to ferry this helmet for me, I jumped at the chance. The first thing that struck me about it was how incredibly light it felt, after the Harley 3/4 helmet that I was using. The weight, and the exceptional aerodynamics mean that you forget it's even there, after a few minutes. There was zero wind-buffetting even at high speeds, which was a welcome change from the my current helmet. And it's incredibly quiet, which is a big plus on those long rides, although I do miss the constant rumble of the V&H pipes in my ears sometimes :-). The fit is just perfect - not too tight, but snug enough. All in all, it is worth every penny spent and I would highly recommend it to my friends. June 4, 2014
Arai is the best. This is my third Arai helmet and we have 5 Arai's in family. I was in one accident and the helmet, Quantum-II mfg in 11-03, literally saved my life as it was slammed onto bowling ball sized rocks with my head inside. I didn't even get a headache! Excellent product! May 26, 2014
