Great helmet I am replacing an arai quantum/e with this one. The fit seems the same to me. The interior fabric is not quite as soft, but not that big a deal. I crashed my bike 3 weeks ago and am so happy I was wearing my arai and not my silly helmet I sometimes wear around town when I don't feel like messing up my hair. I was aware the moment My head hit the pavement how lucky I was to be in a good helmet. November 9, 2015
Great Helmet I have to say that you get what you pay for! This helmet is awesome as far as functionality and features. The venting is the best I've experienced with any helmet thus far. The one complaint I have is the shield fogs up at stop lights. I have the Pinlock shield and insert and once I switch it over, that problem will be eliminated. I also carry extra shields and the dark smoke and mirror shields are the ones that have issues with fogging. Also, when turning your head at freeway speeds, the wind buffeting is noticeable. Great factory part This shade cuts out the glare nicely on those really sunny days It takes about 10 seconds to swap these shields Great product Xcellent customer service Thank you revzilla! October 26, 2015
Very Comfortable This is my fourth motorcycle helmet, by far the most comfortable. I have a short commute to and from work 6-days per-week and ride for pleasure as well. This is one of quietest helmets I have owned as well. There were other options, however Arai seems to fit my face pretty well, I am a intermediate oval shape with big dumbo ears. I have difficulty fitting into AGV, Shoe, and many other higher end helmet brands and the ability to adjust the padding size in in specific areas is a plus. The air vent in the windscreen is one of my other favorite features as well, really does channel air towards your temples and keeps your head cool. Have had problems with getting headaches from being overheated in my other helmets, not a problem with this helmet. Definitely tested in the heat this year in San Diego, 100+ Fahrenheit multiple days this summer. Would recommend, worth saving your money for this. October 20, 2015
It's an Arai.. What can you say other than "it's an Arai". They make GREAT helmets and you can't go wrong. My head on the other hand is always been hard to fit. With an oval head sized 22.25 I am the biggest of a size small or smallest of size medium. Since you want a snug helmet and padding shrinks after a short time I always go small and it's a bit rough till padding reduces a bit but the shape of Arai just fits my head better. I have had Shoei but they just don't fit right. If you have an oval head and or just want one of the best helmets out there protecting your brain pan go ARAI.... October 19, 2015
Good fit for a round head. The RX-Q is a good helmet for those with round heads. October 13, 2015
Very good quality product I consider an arai helmet a "jewel" simply because of craftsmanship, safety, and overall fit and finish. I'm a believer in arai helmets because I was in a wreck and literally cracked one and walked away without head injuries at all. I'm a believer in arai helmets. October 8, 2015
Fits Round shapes well I bought this helmet primarily because this was the only helmet I could find that was shaped for round heads (Asians commonly have rounder heads). I can't really comment on noise level because I had tinnitus to begin with (so take this with a grain of salt), but while wearing this helmet noise just kind of seems to get amplified, so earplugs of some kind is mandatory for me. In short, this helmet is LOUD. As far as range of vision goes, there was still maybe 5% of my vision range obscured, but that shouldn't really matter. For the most part I can see very clearly. The faceshield will fog up sometimes, but as soon as I get going it disappears. This mostly occurs in the morning though. I never figured out how to use the locking mechanism that they showed in the booklet that tells you how to crack open the shield WHILE it is locked in, and iirc it was supposed to help with the fogging though I might be wrong. Just a little trivia regarding the graphic for this helmet, in case you guys didn't know: it is depicting the story of the Dragon Gate in Chinese Mythology, where if a Koi (or Carp) could jump over the waterfall (the Dragon Gate) they would transform into a Dragon. A shopper asked: How do Arai helmets fit with glasses, specifically the Oriental? Sep 4, 2012
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
PDXgearhoarder: It all depends on how thick and rigid or thin and malleable your temples are and what material they're made of. My ancient steel Raybans I can still manage to squeeze into the helmet. My Oakley Oil Rig and Gascan, forget about it. Like driving a railroad spike into my skull. Good god though, the helmet is gorgeous. Oct 4, 2012

RevZilla: All Arai helmets are designed to be worn comfortably with glasses, as long as the lenses and frames of the glasses are reasonably sized. Sep 6, 2012

Victoria P asked: Hello, I bought the Arai RX-Q matte finish helmet about a month ago. The visor fogs up a lot when it rains or when it's cold. The visor the helmet came with does not have the fog insert or the pin lock capability.

I am trying to buy a new visor with the fog insert but I am not sure which visor to buy. I am also trying to buy a second visor that is black tinted so that it can block out the sun. Could you please tell me which visor works with this helmet? Thank you.

Ed S: I have not had any issues with my RX-Q Deco fogging in rain or cold, still using the visor it came with, mine dose have the pin-lock.
