Arai RX-Q Oriental Helmet
There's no reason to go on and on and be really specific. Simply put the workmanship and quality of materials are obvious. The attention to all the little details that were put into crafting the helmet really speaks to the care that Arai takes in their manufacturing. The price is the only negative but you will not be let down by feeling you didn't get your money's worth. Easily recommended with no hesitation.

Fast ship. Item came nicely packaged as expected from a company of quality. Fit and finish were right on. As far as road noise I did not notice more noise than other helmets I've purchased in the past. Very happy with helmet.

Great helmet - some minor issues
I agree with the reviewers here this is really a great helmet. The issues I have had are with the chin vent. It is made from brittle plastic and the housing is very thin in places. One day I went to flip up the shield and my glove snagged on the vent - this happened very easily - and 'pop' the vent housing broke. The plastic housing is incredibly thin, made from very brittle plastic. That's OK I'll just order a new part and pop it in but you can't replace this part on your own the helmet must go to Arai for service. Thats OK too but a couple issues - first I raised an on line ticket. It took a few days to get a response so while waiting I called them and got a return # and sent the helmet in. I was assured the helmet would be in one day and out the next but that is not the case - it has been there for three days without yet being looked at let alone fixed. Turns out Arai USA support is a small operation - they probably get few service calls due to the quality of the helmets.
The chin vent part could be better designed with better materials and could be owner replaceable. If I had not had this issue I would never have known and my score would be across the board 5*. Service could be better and plastic components could be sturdier.

Comfortable and well made
I've been using my helmet a little over a week - just took a long ride yesterday and felt no pressure points or other issues. Great airflow too.

Excellent fit and visibility.
The saying of, "you get what you pay for", holds true for the RX-Q helmet by Arai. Sizing per Revzilla's website chart was exact, I ordered a medium and it's more comfortable than any other helmet I've worn or owned! Noise levels are fine, I have a Fat Bob with Cobra Slip On Mufflers and the helmet tones it down just enough that I can still hear surrounding traffic etc. in summary, if light weight, extreme comfort and DOT + SNELL ratings are your requirements then this helmet is a perfect choice.

Great Helmet, versatile, excellent internal airflow and external aerodynamics. High Quality and Highly Recommended.
Quality: Arai helmets are of very good or excellent quality.
Fit: I bought the RX-Q model to fit my Intermediate Oval to Long Oval Head Shape. I tried the Signet Q but it was a just a tiny bit too long for me.
Airflow: The Airflow features are excellent and manageable. Top of helmet flow, face shield flow and around the mouth/chin level can be opened or closed. Rear of helmet outflow can be open or closed. Rear outflow open enhances overall flow over the top of the head.
Padding: Interior padding is snug and fit well for me. There are different padding sizes if you need it. I have not experienced any discomfort from the padding or the strap.
Fogging: The helmet has not fogged internally while riding except one time when we had 100% humidity and I was riding through the clouds on a rainy, cloudy, 100% humidity afternoon on the BlueRidge Parkway.
Face shield choices: There are a variety of face shield choices from clear to dark smoke and grey, amber, blue and purple mirror shields as well. I ride with the light smoke face shield during the day and carry a clear shield in my hard bags in case I am riding after dark. I find the light smoke fully adequate to dampen the effect of bright sun though others may prefer different colors. This may be more of a preference point. The clear is for night or for cloudy grey days. Switching the face shield is very easy. The Revzilla video instruction is great. Watch that once and it is quick and easy to change shields thereafter.
Face Shield Field of View or Visibility. Visibility side to side and top to bottom is excellent. This is appreciated when in a full crouch position in the fast and tight twisty corners.
Wind Buffet/Aerodynamics. Riding behind a touring wind shield there is no buffet even when your head is up in the wind. Behind a sport windshield the air hits your body and the helmet unless in a tight tuck. The helmet is very aerodynamic and when your head is in normal straight ahead or cornering position, the helmet feels very smooth in the air. I only feel the pressure of the air on the helmet when changing lanes at high speed on a freeway and looking hard left or right to check for cars.
Value: I find the Value is good +, but it is tough to give a higher end helmet a 5 on the bang for the buck score.
Overall: I think Arai makes an excellent product and I highly recommend the line. The RX-Q and Signet Q line seem ideal for the Sport, Sport Tourer to Tourer rider and works well in a traditional sport crouch position. I like the versatility of the helmet.
I ride both a 2007 Honda VFR 800 and a 2009 Harley Davidson Road King. Two very different rides, but both very fun in there own way.

Got this helmet for my wife after getting Arai's Signet-Q for myself. Both have been excellent purchases and a huge improvement over previous helmets, particularly in terms of comfort over multiple 8-10 hour days on the road.
The RX-Q has excellent ventilation, and the smaller overall shell size (for the same helmet size) and light weight mean less fatigue at the end of a long day battling head and cross winds.
Overall, very glad to have selected this helmet. The hi-viz color is a big plus, too.

protection, viability, comfortable, light weight and style important in choosing a perfect helmet for me.
I love this helmet that I have chosen. I call it perfect. I love that the visibility with the helmet on is like not having a helmet on but you are protected and comfortable all at the same time. There will always be a better one, one day but right now this is perfect.
