Arai RX-Q Italy Flag Helmet 2013
Great helmet. Worth every penny.
I bought this helmet a couple months and ridden plenty of miles with it. The first time I rode with it, I couldn't get over how smooth the air flow was. I have ridden this on various bikes such as a GS 1200, KTM 690, and a 899 Panigale. The helmet performs beautifully on all of them. I bought the helmet in a large, and when it got here it was just slightly too big for me. I knew I couldn't fit into a medium comfortably so I bought a replacement cheek pad set, which made the helmet fit perfectly. The other extreme pro of this helmet is the ear fitment. In some helmets I have tried on(Schuberth) there is a solid padding right where your ear sits, which over time causes extreme pain in my ear. In this helmet, there is a noticeable fitment around your ear where there is minimal pressure on your ear. iThe only downside that I have come across on this helmet is the odd airflow inside of the helmet when on the Panigale. Not all the time(which is odd), but some times, I get an odd "jet stream" of air into my right eye. Which gets slightly annoying. I have tried the chin curtain on the helmet, which helped slightly, but I still get some air in my eye.
Other than that odd thing, the helmet is GREAT!

I bought the rx-q on sale and I'm glad I did. The fit is perfect, me having more of a round head. The helmet is extremely light. The only complaint I have is that the visor fogs up a little bit when riding in colder weather, but other than that, an awesome helmet.

Not very durable.
I bought this helmet because I was told that Arais are "the best helmet" and I don't mind spending extra money for something that's protecting both my money maker and my dome piece. After not even having the helmet for six months, both of the top vent switches are broken and the cloth around the back of the neck started to unravel weeks before that. The helmet fits me well and is very light weight. Considering the price of the helmet and Arai's reputation--I expected a lot more. For a little more money, you can buy a Schuberth full-face, which was my first helmet (C3 Pro--not full-face), but having the chin part able to flip up unnerved me. Hope this helps! Ride safe!

Second Arai Helmet ... Superb Quality ...
I had an Arai Corsair (2007) and just replaced it with the RX-Q based on the video review. Yes, it is a more street version of the Corsair ... so this change was a great decision. It has slightly less wind noise and better peripheral vision, and the vent controls are simplified without compromising the excellent air flow thru the helmet.
What's worth noting is that my 2007 Corsair was an XXL ... and was very snug to the point of having very tight but comfortable fitment (with the standard liners). The RX-Q in XXL (with standard liners) was very loose ... so I exchanged for an XL which is now very tight to the point where I may need to go with the next thinner liner to match the 2007 Corsair XXL level of snugness. Not sure if Arai changed their sizing given both of these models are the same "intermediate oval" shape.
Superb quality ... no question that this helmet is worth every penny spent.

So good I bought another one!
I bought my first RX-Q back in 2011, and it has been the quietest, most comfortable helmet I've worn. I briefly considered an RF-1200 (I used to be a Shoei guy) or a Schuberth. Schuberth has come a long way since the days of the C1, but I don't see any value that goes along with the higher cost. If you can get a fantastic helmet for a hundred (or more) less, why not? The Shoei is also very nice, but the plush interior of the Arai just outshines it. I feel like I could ride all day in this helmet. I stuck with Diamond Grey because it looks so elegant. Here's to another 5 years of comfort, safety and style!

I have a oval/round head shape which is hard to find a comfortable helmet for. This one did the job. Very Comfortable and fits snug which how I like the helmet to be. Little bit noisy tho, more than my modular Harley helmet.

Another Great Helmet From Arai
I bought this RX-Q to replace my old Corsair V. I've crashed a couple Arai's in the past and the protection was always excellent, so I expect nothing less than that with this new one. The most important point for me is that these helmets are exceptionally comfortable. When you are pushing the pace, the last thing you need is to be thinking about some discomfort caused by your helmet. This helmet simply vanishes while you are riding - I can focus on my riding and my lines rather than worrying about some hot spot on my head.

First helmet, great field of view, super comfy, quiet
This is the first helmet I have bought as I have just started to ride motorcycles so that's my perspective.
When I was looking for a helmet I wanted protection, field of view, and comfort, and was a bit in favor of Arai since my brother rides with them as well. This helmet being an intermediate oval fit my head, has been praised for its wide field of view, quiet ride and of course all the other praises that come with being manufactured by a great company, and from my experience with the helmet it is all well deserved.
The interior of it is soft and cool where other cheaper helmets were sort of micro felts or similar and were scratchy and hot. Even has soft padding on the chin strap!
The field of view is honestly almost not worth mentioning, its wide, like you have peripheral vision still kind of wide, sure you can see the lower portion if you look for it but you have to look for it.
The protection is what you expect from Arai, I haven't mashed my head into the pavement but i'm more than confident i'll be happy I have invested in a quality company.
Additionally the helmet is light, at least I don't thing " man its heavy" or "wish my helmet was lighter" it's just comfortable in weight even when wobbling your head around it feels light. The face shield system is great, I purchased a blue tint face shield with the helmet to cut out glare (works great, I squint in barely bright sunlight) and the system works great, quick, simple, and secure. Vents feel fine, its fall in NZ so I don't use them often but mid day i'll pop the mouth vent/chin vent whatever and it feels nice.
Also the silver is cool, and the blue shield is cool, and it will match my R3 which I think is cool. Picture is slightly resized since it came off my phone from 480x480 but still you can see how the shield looks if you are interested.
