This is only the second helmet I have owned, the other being a less expensive brand. I think I have a moderate oval shaped head. But this is VERY tight in the cheeks. I think you can order new cheek pads, but I expect these will compress over time so I am leaving them in. And tighter is better protection. But right now, the cheek pads are pretty tight.
I can't tell any difference in the airflow unless I open up every single vent. Otherwise, it's just intangible variations of "venty." There is no non-venty setting. And there is a LOT of wind noise in this helmet. Snapping the visor closed helps slightly, but this is a noisy helmet. I thought that paying this much more would mean I get a quiet helmet. Not so. I will say I was dissappointed there. I expected more from Arai. Maybe I shouldn't have, but I really don't think my expectations were that high. This helmet is at least as noisy as one that cost half the price. And closing the vents does not help.
The other real problem with this helmet is that it fogs up like crazy. Today it was in the 60's and my visor fogged up. And it really fogs up fast and covers the whole visor. I have to raise it at stoplights or I can't see. I have no idea why this one is this bad. I also expected this not to be an issue.
Something else I noticed was that the helmet seems to sit high on my head. Maybe the crown padding will compress over time as well. It just seemed odd.
The helmet looks great and basically the pinstripes matched the pinstripes on my black and white BMW R1200C. So I bought it. I thought that buying an Arai, I was not just buying a helmet for the paint scheme; something I would never do. I thought I would not be compromising safety for fashion. And I truly believe that Arai is the safest hemlet made, based on opinions of professionals I know. But perhaps I should have picked a different one.
I bought a BlueTooth unit and it fit very well. The ear pockets are well designed on this helmet. The visor works well, I just wish the fastener was on the right side: I am holding the clutch at the stoplights with my left hand and that's when I need to raise the visor. Putting it on the left side was a bad idea. But it really stays where you leave it. And the helmet is not very heavy, even for a 2XX
The chin strap is comfortable and has a little extra length, which is nice. The visibility is excellent, when I'm not fogging up. And the fog does go away immediately when you start off.
In sum, the helmet looks great, the padding is comfortable except for the tight cheeks, and it takes the BlueTooth unit well. Downside is it fogs up quickly and is surprisingly noisy. I wish I could recommend buying this helmet, but I wouldn't buy this one again. Sorry, Arai.
I gave it 4 of 5 for Bang for the Buck because I got it on sale.
No, I do not recommend this product.

If you have a long, oval noggin, this is the helmet for you. No pressure points on the forehead or temple. Nice snug cheeks for a secure fit. It fits a tad different than my old Quantum F helmet. The chin section feels a bit higher. You'll get a whistle from the air vents on the front top of the helmet when you open them. I don't switch the visor so I can't comment on the ease of this procedure. I have Norman Hyde toga pipes on my Bonnie T100 that, even with ear plugs, rumbled inside my Shoei helmet like a base drum. That rumble is gone with the Profile. I'm guessing that the lower collar section of the Arai is snugger. The Profile has the drop down chin protector for cold air, but I've only had this lid since the spring (and fall is just approaching). At the current clearance price, this is a major bargain. I paid $60 more at another place 4 months ago, and that was an excellent price at the time. I have the black and white, that is stylish in a non-gaudy way, and also gives a bit more visibility for addled + distracted drivers.

After 6 years and many miles my Arai Signet was in need of replacement. While I took time to evaluate and give other brands a chance I found myself back to where I started. The Arai Profile is the helmet which replaced the Signet and the only one which fits my head perfectly.
I chose the Banda model as I had some extra Revzilla bucks (thanks guys). Overall fit, comfort and features are exactly what I expected. Arai takes time w/ each of their helmets and it shows. The paint all the way down to the packaging it comes in shows the pride of workmanship and quality of this product. The more I compare other helmets the more of a brand loyalist I become.
I'm looking forward to using this helmet for as many years and miles as my last. Knowing Arai's quality this won't disappoint. The bigger question is can it keep up w/ my VFR...
