Arai Corsair V Jonathan Rea 3 Helmet

The Arai Corsair V Helmet proves again that Arai’s main focus is the experienced rider who knows what a real helmet should do and have. It doesn’t fling fashion at you; it advanced the art of building better helmets for riders. Its improvements and innovations reach down to the smallest details. Why? Partly obsession. Partly because Arai believes every part of a helmet is interrelated in both design and function. We don’t believe in change for the sake of change, fad, or marketing “shock” value.

  • Newly designed shell with Hyper-Ridge around the bottom enhances shell strength while providing a larger bottom opening
  • Larger bottom opening promotes ease of putting on and taking off the helmet
  • Peripheral belting across the forehead area of the shell enhances structural integrity while maintaining flexibility, low weight and shell size
  • Larger upper vent tabs make operating the vents easier even with thick winter gloves
  • New Arai “SAI” shield with Super AdSis shield system
  • New “SAI” shield is 5mm longer in each side and provides a wider field of view
  • New “SAI” shield and base plates are exclusive to Corsair V helmets
  • Latest generation of Dry Cool line has a new silver-grey color
  • Rear mounting straps are slightly re-positioned exclusively to the Corsair V
  • Neckroll is removable and has additional exhaust channels to remove interior heat
  • Cheek pads have the exclusive Emergency Release Tab feature
  • Newly designed side exhaust cowls exhaust heat as well as add lateral stability at speed
  • Enhanced air inlets of the new DF-9 diffuser increase airflow efficiency

Top of the line Arai, need to say more ? Top model Arai made for the track but I just wear it for everyday commute. Yes it's better and more stable in full tuck. But I got used to it in 3/4 and somewhat upright on my GS and multistrada . Work great for me..... My head is round oval and perfect for me after 4hour trip. No hotspots anywhere.. 59cm head size, I went with a large in Corsair V vs my RxQ in medium.... Both fit perfect and no drag at 135mph... September 29, 2015
Great fit, look & great price. Saw this helmet at the 2015 Isle of Man TT. Great graphics. I was looking for more of a racing helmet to use on track day, along of reminding me of the TT. I ordered a medium, which is the same size as my other Aria helmet. The fit is snug while still fitting comfortable. The price I paid was considerably lower than offered at the TT. No regrets in my purchase. September 14, 2015
Excellent airflow, comfort and gorgeous design/paint I've never had an Arai before. I have had a couple Shoei helmets including the GT Air which I really like, and a Ruby Belvedere. The Arai is a very comfortable helmet that flows a ton of air and is surprisingly quiet. It's a little heavier than I would have thought, but it doesn't feel heavy on your head and it's very stable at speed. I also just love the design. I'm a fan of the IOM race and think this helmet looks cool as all get out. The paint quality is fantastic; I got it with the gold mirror shield and the tint is nice for sunny days. August 24, 2015
Excellent Product Excellent product i used many times during my trips. August 4, 2015
Beautiful! I've spent the past 4 years in a vector, the fit was never quite right. This corsair not only fits better, but the wind noise is less & it feels great from the moment I put it on, until I take it off. Weight feel a bit lighter from what I can tell. This is also a beautiful looking helmet, so I suppose if you're a collector of the limited editions there's that. I'll be wearing mine! July 13, 2015
Russell Frost Graphic I originally bought the Arai Corsair V Russell Frost Graphic to use as a track helmet. Since I live 3+ hours from the closest track, and I do not go to track days as often as I thought I would, I ended up wearing this helmet for streets as well to get more use out of it. I'm not going to talk about the fit because everyone's head is different and you really should try the helmet of your liking and feel for yourself, rather than read how the helmet fits other reviewers' head shapes. But to give you a slightly better insight, I have a weirdly shaped head. If you were to look down to my head from top, it would look like an acorn. Intermediate oval (whatever that means) with wider rear. I have tried on numerous types of helmets to get the right, comfortable fit (Schuberth, HJC, Arai, Shoei, Bell, AGV, Shark). The most comfortable helmet for me was Shark from 15 years ago (I forgot the model#), and I should probably buy another Shark but no offline stores in NYC has Shark helmets to try on. But I digress. Arai Corsair V fits my head. I've gone on a few 2-3 hr rides and (some longer) without any comfort issue. Bit loud as any race helmet would be, but nothing ear plugs can't amend. Superb air flow. Kids love this graphic. I get tons of compliments, two thumbs up as well as waving from children who normally would be timid to make an eye contact with a man in black leather. Ladies love the graphic too. But most importantly, I'm absolutely in love with this graphic. Thanks for reading. July 11, 2015
Pictures don't do the camo graphic justice. Everyone knows of the Corsair V, and how it's one of the best helmets you can buy. The camo graphic is sweet, photos dont do it any justice. Nicky's face on it is a little wild, but its not bad in person. Just different, which is good. If you like this graphic and/or are one of the few people with a bike and gear setup to match it, buy this helmet, you wont be disappointed. I bought mine on closeout, but it feels like its worth more. The finish quality is second to none. If I had the money, I wouldnt hesitate to pay retail on Arai's flagship model. My only gripe is with the faceshield. Its a pain in the butt. June 8, 2015
Fogs Easily Great Helmet overall. The fit and finish are second to none however, this helmet by far fogs the quickest and easiest. It's annoying. So much so I called Arai personally with a complaint. There response? " Thishelmet doesn't fog, you are not using the features properly". I was not happy with that response. 2 different shields with the same exact outcome. It's terrible. A 800+ dollar helmet should not have this issue. Riding in the rain, cold and pretty much any weather below 60 is asking for a fogged shield. Other than that it's all good. June 1, 2015
