The Corsair is Arai’s flagship model. An Arai helmet is not the product of compromise, of a "profit" point, or a board of directors. An Arai helmet is the product of obsession, an ongoing obsession to design and build the best helmets possible. This year Arai took the Corsair V Replica helmets to a new level. With several new features, you’ll see why the world’s best wear the Arai Corsair V Helmet.
Arai’s exclusive, adjustable new AirWing® is designed to greatly reduce drag, turbulence and buffeting resulting in more comfort and additional top-speed.
The new wider eyeport required a new, wider faceshield. Called the Series "I" faceshield, it is exclusive to the Corsair-V. The new shield fits even more flush against the shell than the previous Corsair’s.
Newly equipped with ‘’Air In Stabilizer’’, an additional air intake between the front and rear intake in the diffuser and large toggles. The Air-In ports help accelerate air out the back, increasing airflow without increasing the size of the holes in the shell.
The biggest difference between the newest generation of Arai’s Hyper-Ridge feature and its predecessors sticks right out at you: Whereas the previous ridge curved in, this one flares out. This results in a larger opening at the helmet’s bottom, making the helmet easier to get on and off.
Both cheek pads and the neck roll can be removed in seconds thanks to the advanced Emergency Release System. Rescue and medical workers can easily remove the newly designed removable neck roll and the cheek pads by just pulling the pad release tabs. This offers extra room within the helmet, making removal of the helmet much easier and minimizing the risk of additional injury.
The Corsair-V’s neckroll is now removable and replaceable, and adds an additional exhaust vent through its bottom via shallow channels in the EPS liner, adding yet another ventilation outlet for the removal of interior air.
Top shelf from Arai
Ok so let me begin by sayin I picked this bag up on closeout from Revzilla at a steal $650 on a helmet that's over 900 smackers at any dealer. I was looking for a perfect match for my blue and white '13 GSXR 750 as well as custom Dainese Laguna Seca suit and man this was this ever.
I've had a lot of top shelf helmets in the past including Arai (Arai RX-7 Corsair, Shoei X-12, etc...). I migrated from Arai to try different more modern/aerodynamic shapes. I've always been a fan of Arai graphics and this just one makes me an even bigger fan.
Fit and comfort is like most super premium race helmets, and that is high! Field of vision is excellent and improved from what I remember the RX-7 Corsair having. Noise is where this guy is from the winner. yes it is loud even with ear plugs, something I could not say about my Shoei X-12 which was stone quiet. The noise is much better if the shield is kept locked down. However, the vent diffusers on the top of the helmet are the likely culprit. I cannot imagine riding in this helmet without ear plugs.
In terms of functionality, it has great venting which I experienced for the first time yesterday. Very stable at speed even when not in the tuck (granted I had some great wind deflection thanks to a full fairing and dabble bubble windscreen but still). Not the lightest helmet out there but still fairly light. As expected, the small fit me just as other brand helmets in small. Bottom line, no the most aerodynamic, not the lightest, not the most cutting edge design, but it's still a world class Arai. That can't be ignored.
In terms of colors, the Rea 2 is definitely more orange than it is red which worked out for me. The red is only present in small parts but quickly fades into a nice orange (a perfect match for GSXR graphics). The blue is also spot on.
Like I said for the closeout price I couldn't pass it up.

Take your head to a new level:)
This is the best the most amazing thing you can ever have. I personally bought Arai Rea first design Black/white and first I thought it might look not that good but once I got it. All I wanted to get my bike and start riding with it. Its not as quiet as maybe RXQ. RXQ was designed for more upright and I believe I could of bought that because I dont do any track days but I do a lot of freeway riding and sometimes I like to get into a tuck position when its windy and there where the magic starts.
The helmet is very stable at speeds 80 and up and lower as well but as riders we find cheap helmet cause helmet lift, buffing and horrible wind noise but this is the best buck for your money. Yes its well prices but you dont buy helmets every day.
One day it might save a life. You get quality not quantity thats whats matters. Light,Great design, unmatched aerodynamics and best name you can ever dream of ARAI.
For comparison if all your life you drove geo prism and one day someone gave you a Mercedes of course you would not say that geo is better. You get the name and quality that is trusted with that name.
Dont take my word for it purchase any Arai quality helmet and this will be the last and only brand helmet you will ever ride with.
I wore shoeis and I must say Arai took my breath and hearth away.
