The Corsair is Arai’s flagship model. An Arai helmet is not the product of compromise, of a "profit" point, or a board of directors. An Arai helmet is the product of obsession, an ongoing obsession to design and build the best helmets possible. This year Arai took the Corsair V Replica helmets to a new level. With several new features, you’ll see why the world’s best wear the Arai Corsair V Helmet.
Arai’s exclusive, adjustable new AirWing® is designed to greatly reduce drag, turbulence and buffeting resulting in more comfort and additional top-speed.
The new wider eyeport required a new, wider faceshield. Called the Series "I" faceshield, it is exclusive to the Corsair-V. The new shield fits even more flush against the shell than the previous Corsair’s.
Newly equipped with ‘’Air In Stabilizer’’, an additional air intake between the front and rear intake in the diffuser and large toggles. The Air-In ports help accelerate air out the back, increasing airflow without increasing the size of the holes in the shell.
The biggest difference between the newest generation of Arai’s Hyper-Ridge feature and its predecessors sticks right out at you: Whereas the previous ridge curved in, this one flares out. This results in a larger opening at the helmet’s bottom, making the helmet easier to get on and off.
Both cheek pads and the neck roll can be removed in seconds thanks to the advanced Emergency Release System. Rescue and medical workers can easily remove the newly designed removable neck roll and the cheek pads by just pulling the pad release tabs. This offers extra room within the helmet, making removal of the helmet much easier and minimizing the risk of additional injury.
The Corsair-V’s neckroll is now removable and replaceable, and adds an additional exhaust vent through its bottom via shallow channels in the EPS liner, adding yet another ventilation outlet for the removal of interior air.

My previous helmet was from ICON and size LRG. After reading the Arai size chart and taking measurements I discovered that I should be wearing a size MED. I bought the Arai Corsair V in MED. The fit is perfect and I can assure that my next helmet will be from Arai. I was the guy that bought top quality parts for my bike but not top quality gear. Be smart and buy the best gear you can afford.

I am sort of a helmet "abuser" When I go to the weekly HA (Helmets Anonymous) meeting I stand up and say: "My name is Nicholas and I have too many helmets" I have an AGV GP Tech, A Shoei 1100 and a Shoei 1200. This Arai looks, feels and fits better than any of the other three. One thing about it though, when you buy the top end of any product you have to pay a whole lot more to get the last 5% of performance than you have to pay for the first 95%. But OH BABY does that last 5% feel good!! This helmet was worth every penny of the extra $300 that it cost over an absolutely drop dead wonderful helmet like the AGV and the Shoei. If Rolex made a helmet it would feel like an Arai. Better yet if Mercedes made a helmet this would be it.

I will make this short and sweet, this is my second one of these because the 1st one saved my life. I believe that if I would have been wearing a less protective helmet I would not by typing this.

I finally decided to buy the Corsair V and am not disappointed. First off pictures do not do this helmet justice. The graphics and subtleties of the paint are much nicer in person. The fit is perfect for me and it is easy to put on a pair of sunglasses unlike some of my other helmets. Arai put a lot of attention to the small details on every component on this helmet. Next it was off to give it a test ride. It's colder at this time of year here (45F/7C) and the shield fogged much faster than any of my other helmets. Fortunately the shield lock is easy to use with gloves on and so I just lifted up the shield when stopped. After 10 minutes or so the temperature stabilizes and the shield stops fogging. As soon as I got on the main road in front of my house I was reaching up to close the vents. This helmet flows a lot of air, much more than any helmet I've used. Even when I wasn't in the tuck position air flowed freely. I was skeptical about the temple vents in the shield but they work very well. All the vents are very easy to use with gloves on and are simple and intuitive. The visibility is excellent both with peripheral vision and forward when tucked. I immediately felt more confident in traffic and at extreme angle intersections due to the peripheral visibility. The helmet cut through the air very well and was comfortable even on a long ride. It feels much lighter than what the scale may imply. It was also was surprisingly quiet for a race style helmet. I just used my TeamZilla cash to get a Pinlock shield and insert which should take care of the shield fogging. I watched Anthony's demonstration video so I changed the shield very quickly with no problems. Overall, this is an expensive helmet but well worth it. It's by far the best helmet I have.

This was purchased as a track helmet only. Long story short, new bike, new tires, new track...crashed the bike hitting my head HARD. Helmet did what it is designed to do, saved my head, but sacrificed itself in the process.
I just purchased another one because I believe that if I would have gone with a lesser quality one, I may not be here typing this.

I've always had Shoei's but decided to shop for an Arai as I needed a new Helmet. After much research and reading, I opted for the Corsair V. Ithought that the new Shoeis look really ugly and the Arai's were more appealing initially. The closeout deal at Revzilla also helped me decide to spend $650 instead of the typical $850 with this Aoyama replica. I have to say that in real life the helmet looks much better than on the pictures. The colors are much more vibrant and the quality and details of this helmet are just incredible. The other surprise is how light the helmet feels compared to my old RF1000. Also, I always thought my Shoeis were very comfortable. Even if the Corsair V is race oriented, it feels very comfortable and I have no problem going on long trips. I read somewhere people saying that if a Shoei fits you then an Arai won't and the other way around... For me I have had no problem with both brands... But now I can tell you how much I love my ARAI!

This helmet may be expensive, but it's completely worth it. The first thing I noticed was the airflow. I used it with all the vents open on an 83 degree day and my face actually got a little cold at 50mph. Comfortable like no helmet I've ever worn and lighter than air. This is the creme de la creme.
