Arai Corsair V Aoyama 3 Helmet

The Corsair is Arai’s flagship model. An Arai helmet is not the product of compromise, of a "profit" point, or a board of directors. An Arai helmet is the product of obsession, an ongoing obsession to design and build the best helmets possible. This year Arai took the Corsair V Replica helmets to a new level. With several new features, you’ll see why the world’s best wear the Arai Corsair V Helmet.

New Features:

  • Arai’s exclusive, adjustable new AirWing® is designed to greatly reduce drag, turbulence and buffeting resulting in more comfort and additional top-speed.
  • The new wider eyeport required a new, wider faceshield. Called the Series "I" faceshield, it is exclusive to the Corsair-V. The new shield fits even more flush against the shell than the previous Corsair’s.
  • Newly equipped with ‘’Air In Stabilizer’’, an additional air intake between the front and rear intake in the diffuser and large toggles. The Air-In ports help accelerate air out the back, increasing airflow without increasing the size of the holes in the shell.
  • The biggest difference between the newest generation of Arai’s Hyper-Ridge feature and its predecessors sticks right out at you: Whereas the previous ridge curved in, this one flares out. This results in a larger opening at the helmet’s bottom, making the helmet easier to get on and off.
  • Both cheek pads and the neck roll can be removed in seconds thanks to the advanced Emergency Release System. Rescue and medical workers can easily remove the newly designed removable neck roll and the cheek pads by just pulling the pad release tabs. This offers extra room within the helmet, making removal of the helmet much easier and minimizing the risk of additional injury.
  • The Corsair-V’s neckroll is now removable and replaceable, and adds an additional exhaust vent through its bottom via shallow channels in the EPS liner, adding yet another ventilation outlet for the removal of interior air.

  • Newly designed shell with Hyper-Ridge around the bottom enhances shell strength while providing a larger bottom opening
  • Larger bottom opening promotes ease of putting on and taking off the helmet
  • Peripheral belting across the forehead area of the shell enhances structural integrity while maintaining flexibility, low weight and shell size
  • Larger upper vent tabs make operating the vents easier even with thick winter gloves
  • New Arai “SAI” shield with Super AdSis shield system
  • New “SAI” shield is 5mm longer in each side and provides a wider field of view
  • New “SAI” shield and base plates are exclusive to Corsair V helmets
  • Latest generation of Dry Cool line has a new silver-grey color
  • Rear mounting straps are slightly re-positioned exclusively to the Corsair V
  • Neckroll is removable and has additional exhaust channels to remove interior heat
  • Cheek pads have the exclusive Emergency Release Tab feature
  • Newly designed side exhaust cowls exhaust heat as well as add lateral stability at speed
  • Enhanced air inlets of the new DF-9 diffuser increase airflow efficiency
  • Brow vents now duct air into the temple area and out the side vents for maximum cooling
  • Exclusive AirWing provides unprecedented aerodynamic performance with 5 distinct positions
  • Snell M2010 Certified

AWESOME Arai ! Second to none just watch the pros. Got the steal of the century off RevZilla on this helmet. Super light for all the protection it offers. Super wide view. I cannot wear my old Shoei or Bell now because the restricted views in them compared to the Corsair V. I have a bad neck also and cannot turn easily so this wide view is now a must. Thanks RevZilla. Spend on your lid I had ridden in 2 consecutive Corsair's over 12 years. I saved money and went with an RF1100 last season only to realize I'd been spoiled by the Corsair's lightness, air flow, and fit. In comparison, the RF 1100 is a heavy head roaster that looks like a bubble. The Aoyama 3 I've just received is dramatic in person. In places color fades from grey to sliver to blue and back again. This adds something extra special to the overall hard to beat black and white scheme. I'm stoked. It's gnarly, fast looking and goes with pretty much any color bike. Especially my black STR. And nothing beats the snug sharp look of a "race fit". Cheers Aoyama, Arai, and ZLA. December 18, 2013
First Race Helmet By far it is the most comfortable helmets I have owned. Despite having the track in mind, it is also a great everyday riding helmet. I rode with it on 150 miles. It was comfortable the entire way and airflow was great. With living in Texas good air flow is a must. It is very expensive but it is a thing of beauty. October 14, 2013
Just Ordered my Second Great helmet! I've ridden this helmet on the street, on long tours, and on the track. It's light weight, great visibility, and comfortable. The shape of the helmet and the wing provides almost zero lift in the tuck at high speeds. Sitting upright, you do need to tuck your chin a bit at high speeds, but at normal cruising speeds it is very comfortable. I mostly ride in Dubai where it is very hot and I sweat a lot. The lining usually dries out overnight without taking the cheek pads out and there isn't any lingering smell. I recently came off my R6 at the track in about a 60MPH left hander landed on my left shoulder and left side of the head. I dislocated my clavicle, but no other damage. September 26, 2013
5 out of 5 out of 5 This is my first Arai helmet that I have own. OUTSTANDING product. Pics, and even videos doesn't do the helmet ANY justice. Its a beautiful helmet. Thumbs up, Arai and Revzilla for carrying this product. I would rather put in a display case. Fit, is SPOT ON. I have an "Alien" shaped head, and a huge dome (XXL) to match. It is definetly a LONG OVAL shape. No cheek pads, or headliner were needed to be removed. September 11, 2013
Fits great, light weight, and well worth the money! I have been an Arai fan since day one. I have owned four different Arai helmets first starting off with the Quantum, then moving to the RX-7 Corsair twice, and now the Corsair V. I have tried some other helmets, but none can hold up to the overall performance as this one. It's light, decently quiet, well designed for aerodynamics and if you happened to take a spill , it will definitely keep your yolk in tact. I use this bad boy on the track with my GSX-R, and I use it on my Night Rod for hard cruising. Very well rounded helmet if you're willing to spend the cash. In my honest opinion, spending a little more money to keep your head in tact is a small price to pay. If you're debating on money to value, IT'S NO CONTEST, DO IT! September 3, 2013
Excellent quality - great product Light weight, solid fit. Extra viewing area is noticeable. Great air flow thru helmet in full tuck. Peace of mind your squash is in good hands. July 28, 2013
Sweetness Before this I had a Vector 2 so this review is pretty much a comparison to that. Before that I used way older helmets that aren't even comparable. The first thing you notice about the Corsair V is that it fits really snugly. The cheek pads cover more of your face than the Vector 2 cheek pads. It's also lighter, and in the wind it feels easier to move your head around. One big plus for me was that the chin part comes down a little lower and more forward than with the Vector 2, in which I could push my chin forward and easily push the helmet forward as well. The Corsair V doesn't have that much more room but it's noticeable. I tried on the Shoei X-12 and AGV GP Tech as well. The Shoei was nice, honestly I forgot why I didn't go with that one, other than the exterior styling seemed a bit bulky. The AGV was too long front to back for my round Japanese head. If you ride a sportbike or on the highway a lot you should get this helmet. It's super comfortable in the wind and it covers more of your neck than the Vector 2 in which I would often get hit in the adam's apple with bugs and stuff. July 8, 2013
