AltRider Yamaha Super Tenere XT1200Z Crash Bars 2011-2015
If you want to protect your investment than get a set of these crash bars. The Altrider bars in my opinion are the best available. I've researched many different brands on my quest to find something to protect my bike. I came up with alot of cheaper alternative but to me these are the best bars for the money, they are definitely worth every penny spent. Fortunately I haven't tested them yet but they look like they are up too the task for protecting the bike in the case of a fall. I like the super tight fit, you definitely have to keep all the bolts loose in order to get it in place, put that means they is no room for them to slide of rattle around. Anyway, I'm very happy with my purchase and I will recommend these to anyone looking for great quality stuff.

Great quality and well manufactured. This crash bar attaches to the frame and provides excellent coverage on the bike. I highly recommend this product. And it looks great on the bike.

Great product, but have help for installing.
Product seems great. Has protected my '14 Tenere in a drop into the mud. Not a scratch.
For installation, I would suggest having a couple of punches handy, and a friend. The entire system is under tension, so you will need to pull it into place with a punch in order to get the bolts lined up and avoid cross threading. They're not hard to get on with those extras on hand.

These are the best, durably made and designed crash bars I've seen. They are stout tubes, welded well (I'm very picky on weld quality) and are attached at very strong points on the bike. The cross bar was designed nicely as well to laterally support the side on impact to transfer/share the load to the frame and opposite side. Well done.
One complaint: the powder coating was nicked out of the box but I'm sure it's the first of many blemishes.

Ordered this for my Super Tenere. I really like the engineering thats been put into it how it transfer the impact through the bars and not directly to the motorcycle (more or less).
Able to remove side panels easily.
Very easy to install with clear instructions. While I gave it an Excellent in Durability, I hope I don't ever have to really find out!

Gear shifter got bent and and engine cover dented on a parking tipover.
I've installed this crash bar on my '14 Super Tenere ES a couple of days after I got it. I accidentally dropped the bike during parking at the commercial center. The bike sidestand wasnt fully retracted so the bike dropped slowly as i unmounted. When I picked it up I saw scratches on the left crashbar and I was glad I put them on as they bore the brunt! On further checking, I noticed the gear shift lever was bent inward, causing a dent on the engine cover right above it. That was just a slow drop, I wonder how much protection it will provide if it were a hard fall.
It's a bit frustrating on how much you invest on a product thats supposed to protect the bike from a minor mistake like this and still get damage.
Anyway, I guess things would have been worse if there were no crashbars installed, right?

Protected the bike... that’s why I bought them.
I went with these in black for my 2014 S10. They were put to use my second time riding in dirt when I wiped out after hitting a sand section. The bars definitely protected the body work. Also, because of the bars, the bike wasn’t completely flat on the ground. So, I (155 lb) was able to pick up the pick quite easily. The black paint did get scuffed up but they protected the bike and the radiator and that’s exactly why I bought them.

Great Crash Bars
These are very stout. The install was really easy and strait forward. The finish on them is very nice and seems to be durable. They have fortunately not been tested but I'm sure they will stand up if the bike were dropped.
