Kicking down your side stand shouldn’t make you worry about a falling or sinking bike. The AltRider Side Stand Foot for the Triumph Tiger 800XC offers peace of mind by creating a larger footprint to support the weight of your bike on soft ground.
Made from hefty 1/8 inch (3.175 mm) thick stainless steel, the bottom plate will not bend, loosen, or begin rattling over time. It features a 3D tread that provides traction for your boots and is the most ergonomic design on the market, allowing easy deployment of the side stand while still on the bike. The AltRider foot attaches using the flanged top plate that holds the curved foot, and Torx fasteners clamp it down for a tight fit. This is the only side stand foot on the market with a top plate that encloses the foot from every angle. There’s no chance of losing this one.
AltRider Side Stand Foot Triumph Tiger 800 2013-2015
Seems like the best choice for 2014 XC.
I had to file the bolts down a bit, and used a lifetime's worth of Loctite, but it seems to have taken care of the complaints. I check the bolts every couple hundred miles with a Torx wrench I carry. No, that's not how it should work, but that's the way it is.

Decent product, poor directions.
The Good - The foot seems to work well and I do believe it will hold up well over time
Bad/Strange - Sounds a bit ridiculous to say the side stand foot needs better directions but it does. After receiving the side stand foot I looked at the directions quickly and installed it on the kickstand. At that point I realized the screws extended past the bottom plate roughly 1/8 of an inch. After speaking with Altrider they determined I needed shorter screws and explained the 2 plates should not be tightened so much that they touch and the screws should be flush with the bottom plate or show a thread or 2 at most. If you tighten the screws the top plate will bend. Not a big deal but for the money you decide.

Easy to install but the plates will bend
works well, installs easy, just be aware that when putting the torque to the bolts the thinner metal will bend to form a better fit

Don't buy it
This foot is not engineered very well. The only thing that holds the screws in is loctite, they cannot be tightened. if you try to tighten the screws they stick through the bottom and you will bend the top plate. It is designed to leave a gap between the plates and is a very poor design. When the bike is on the centerstand the foot hits the swingarm and will need to be ground down with a dremel or grinder for clearance. In my opinion this product is a waste of money.

I ordered this for my 2014 Triumph Tiger 800XC after installing I went for a test ride and noticed that when I hit a bump in the road it pulled my side stand down. I realized that Triumph has an issue with a weak side spring on the Tiger. I notified Alt Rider and my local dealer as well as Triumph USA. I had them order me a spring off a 2014 1200 XC Tiger its very tight but now I'm able to use the side stand foot. If you install this with the stock spring your going to have problems with it dragging your side stand down.

Christopher S: After my Tiger 800 almost fell over in my driveway (the kickstand was sinking into the hot blacktop), I knew I needed a wider sidestand foot. This is compatible with the OEM centerstand, so it was a no-brainer.Jul 5, 2014
