AltRider Luggage Rack XT1200Z Super Tenere

The AltRider Luggage Rack for the Yamaha Super Tenere XT1200Z is greatly improved over the stock version making it one of the first parts you’ll want to install on your new adventure bike. Designed to be strong for on or off road riding adventures, it’s made from 3/16 inch (4.75 mm) aluminum and features side flanges for added rigidity and mounting points, as well as a completely redesigned bracket. This design also allows the luggage rack to be run in the low position (with out pillion seat or grab handles). Part of the design was to use the same hardware, so there is nothing to loose.

The AltRider Luggage Rack comes with a mounting bracket, made from 3/16 inch (4.75 mm) aluminum, which replaces the stock plastic mounting bracket and greatly increases the rack’s capacity. Between the bracket and rack we created a cubby that is 8.5” X 6” X 3”. The cut-out pattern is perfect for creating a door with a bungee cord (ROK straps), making it a perfect glove box to stuff items in without the need to secure them. The rack itself is uniquely designed with a variety of cut-outs, so you can easily attach your bags with anything from straps to bungee cords to tie downs.

If you want the option of using a top case, the AltRider Luggage Rack provides an interface for the Givi Monokey systems, allowing attachment with a mount kit (sold separately).

Good solid rack I have the Givi adapter on the rack and it works great. Very stable with no flex. lots of places to attach Rok Straps or other tie downs. December 17, 2012

Well worth the loot! The altrider rack is by far the best I have seen. It is beautifully made, fits perfectly, installs simply enough that a thumbless monkey could do it, and it is huge. (Size matters, your girlfriend lied...) It isn't cheap, but you will never find a reason to complain about it, the quality is evident. December 6, 2012

Solid Rack, Great finish...but why the misuse of space? Wow, this plate is AWESOME looking. Much more solid/sturdy than the original. EASY to INSTALL! Has pre-drilled holes for Givi Monokey cases and Rotopax. HOWEVER, DO NOT ORDER GIVI JUNCTION KIT, as it is not the correct part and will not work on the rack. Order the Altrider Givi Monokey kit. One thought, I like the underrack storage, but why waste the space? With the spacers, the rack leaves out 1/2 inch of space...why? See photo. Otherwise, GREAT! October 23, 2012

As good as it gets... This is the rack that Yamaha should have made stock with the bike. It is sturdy with a nice finish and is easy to install with a hex key. There is extra storage space under the toprack which is a nice bonus. May 14, 2012

Not inexpensive, but worth it. Very sturdy. Fits excellent This is a big tail rack, much larger than the stock plastic one. Fit and finish are excellent. It is very well though out with large openings for attaching straps. The design is very solid, no flexing. I also purchased the hardware to adapt this rack to Givi monokey top case and it fits very well. March 12, 2012
