AltRider Crash Bars for Triumph Tiger 800 / 800XC

The AltRider Triumph Tiger 800cc triple is everything that an adventure bike needs with solid performance on the pavement and off-roads. This bike was featured tackling every terrain imaginable in Icon’s hit mini movie “The Raiden Files- Portland to Dakar”, making one realize what kind of crazy adventures can be done on this mean off-road machine. Without the right accessories, the rugged rides can quickly come to an end without the best protection.  These one inch stainless steel AltRider Crash Bars for the Triumph Tiger 800 XC are cut on a 5 axis laser for strength and perfect fit.

100% made in the USA, these Tiger bars utilize the strongest mounting points the bike has to offer. Like all AltRider engineered crash bars, these will fit seamlessly without any grinding or bending on your part. Unlike other crash bars, AltRider doesn't use flanges or weak tabs and are not hung, they’re actually mounted.

One specific feature of these bars is the hidden connector in the front to yield a seamless system. In the case of a hard impact on one side, the energy will be transferred from one side to the other. The impact will be distributed to not just the one or two mounts but all of the mounting points, even on the other side of the impact.

  • Stainless construction fights corrosion and rust
  • Constructed from 1" OD stainless steel tube
  • Hand TIG welded crash bars are 1 inch diameter for additional strength
  • Manufactured in America
  • Refined satin peen finish

Must have for any Tiger owner The instructions weren't the clearest but installation was pretty straightforward. Don't affect the look of the bike much, hardly noticeable when black on black, doesn't add bulk, and unlike other brands, will actually protect some of the cosmetics like the radiator guards and turn signals versus just the engine case. A little insurance that will go a long way! December 4, 2014
solidly built and expertly designed The crash bars fit well, look good, and seem very stout. August 11, 2014
Excellent quality, design, and fit. The bars themselves are built extremely well. Excellent welds, excellent fit. The installation was a breeze, but I would definitely recommend getting someone to help you tighten the engine bolts. I think they are designed very well, both aesthetically and functionally. It appears that they could save your handle bars and levers in the event of a lowside if your front tire is pointing away from the direction of travel. I think you'd still snap your lever if it falls where the bars are tucked into the fall. However, all your cowling will be saved, as well as your engine. If you have the pannier mounts on the back, you will significantly minimize fall damage to your Tiger 800 with these crash bars installed. Aesthetically, they follow the design of the Tiger's frame very well. If there were a single thing I'd change, it would be that the finish were more matte anodized like the frame, hence the 4/5 rating for Finish. July 8, 2014
Two thumbs up !! Put these on the Tiger 800XC. Fit and finish was excellent, as were the instructions. Also found a video on the internet demonstrating step by step. Two of the bolts (one per side) attach at the frame/engine mounts where another set of hands would help. Bars are very sturdy. Can't speak on how well they work and hope I don't ever have to! Great quality. Look the part. A bit more than some of the competition, but reviews and features seemed worth it -- and made the U.S.A. Very impressed with the quality, fit and finish. Installation was a bit vague in two parts, but once installed they feel very solid. I haven't had to find out how they work yet -- may do forced tip-over on the lawn -- but they definitely look like they're up to the task. February 12, 2014
A cut above the rest I was put off at first by the price of these, but after having tried the Triumph engine guards (which I rate as ok), and the Givi engine guards (HUGELY disappointing for a Givi product), I decided to give the AltRider crash bars a try. Now that they are on the 800XC I wish I had just ordered these the first time around. Excellent fit and finish, incredibly strong and superb support both at the mount points and the cross support section. The provided instructions are very good, it does take a bit of patients to get the two nuts off from behind the sides of the radiator, but well worth it when you see how well these protect the radiator. If you have a buddy to help you, the installation does go a bit faster, but it can be done by one person, just take your time and don't rush it. EXCELLENT product, AAA+ in my opinion, and not only do they provide great protection to the engine and the radiator, they look good on the bike too. September 3, 2013
Bolt on. Very simple install. Most important protects radiator All Altrider products on my tiger make the bike more complete and safe. Already set the bike on the ground in the shop to test them out. I would recommend there products to anyone. August 20, 2013
crash bar The crash bar is very nice. fit and finish is superb! 5 star. The item is a little pricey, but there is quite a bit of material - and the bending (done on a cnc mandril bender - i am guessing) the cost of the stainless steel, hydro jetting, powder coating and welding all add to the price. The item definitely looks like it will protect the bike on a tip over. haven't tested it yet -knock on wood, but the lower side of the bike along the engine casing might not have enough protection. Was planning on getting the R-G engine case covers but i don't want to spend yet more money. I bought the SW Motech engine guards and they weigh probably twice as much and are prone to vibration. I sent them back to Twisted Throtttle. These are vibration free and are strong yet will give so it wont wreck yoiur bike and will protect the $800 Radiator. I also had Touratech engine guard and sent those back, nominal protection and doesn't really do much. when the bike tips over the clutch shifter will bend in so it didn't protect that. and on the right side the bends weren't correct so i needed to shim out the Touratech guard with a 1/8" shim to get the correct fit. i had also gotten the Touratech fairing guard and sent that back, just didn't look like it would do sh*& on the triumph. figured they lifted the design from the 1200gs? overall quite happy. If the 500lb Tiger800XC goes down it might protect my leg from being brocken. I can hoist the front of the bike up using the crash bars and i can grap the crash bars so i can lift up the bike when it tiips over installation wasn't very easy without the right tools, i basically squeexed my hands into the frame between the radiator and then twisted my wrist backwards, it was easier with a swivel adapter and 12" 3/8" extension. on the right side the engine bolt isn't long enough and you don't get enough thread engagement. Typically 2-3 extra threads past the nut. I went to a local dealer on lincoln blvd. Santa Monica and went through a coffee can to find a used bolt that was a tad longer, don't remember the metric size. Called Altrider and they said that stock size was fine according to the engineer (jeromey?), but i argued that it was an engine bolt so doesn't make sense to take a chance. Also, when you buy from Altrider they throw in locktite to secure the lower stainless bolts that adjoins both sections. It says nothing in the directions. I did it just out of habit, since the torque setting is like 1.5ft/lb. overall very good product and happy with the purchase. Install was a little cumbersome, but at least the directions weren't in German (touratech take note - i was calling for English translations) March 14, 2013

RevZilla Store asked: Why did you choose this?
Nicolas S: An ADV bike without crash bars is like a boat without a motor. Plus, Alt Rider seems to get great reviews on their products and they're American made. ;) Feb 2, 2014

Michael M: Sure wish I could help, the bars I ordered went on a 2012 800XC. I can say this the bars went on as advertised and on the last trip the bars performed to perfection, I drop the bike twice on a trail that I was in over my head. I had all AltRider gear on my first ADV bike a 650 Wee and one can not go wrong with the product line. My Tiger already had a Triumph skid plate on it so it was just the crash bars on this bike. We are probably quite similar when doing research before dropping significant cash on a product, AltRider was the best on paper and in my experience the best in performance. With Revzilla's return policy one can't really go wrong either, these guys are simply the best! Jun 21, 2014

Christopher R: The Altrider crash bars bolted right on. It wasn't easy, but it went well. I have several complements on them from other Tiger people that have different bars. The others don't protect the "plastic" well

Joe A: Absolutely! You will need the Torx 50 socket with an extension that will allow you to reach the top engine mounts from across the compartment area. No other issues with my install. Jun 21, 2014
